Abstract: An electrical connector having a squib connector housing a plurality of socket contacts and a squib assembly housing a plurality of pin contacts for insertion in the socket contacts when the squib connector and squib assembly are moved in a mating direction and mated. A retaining means provided for retaining the squib connector and squib assembly in a fully mated condition. A spring, acting in a direction opposite the mating direction, provides a resisting force to oppose mating. During the application of a mating force to overcome the resisting force of the spring and move the squib connector and squib assembly in the mating direction, and prior to the squib connector and squib assembly reaching the fully mated condition, removal of the resisting force of the spring is triggered and the mating force is applied to moving the squib connector and squib assembly to the fully mated condition.

Abstract: A socket terminal includes a front connection portion that comes into contact with a plug terminal, in which a recess having an inner wall is formed in a contact surface that comes into contact with the front connection portion. The front connection portion is locked on the inner wall by coming into contact with the inner wall when moving in a direction in which the plug terminal is pulled out from the socket terminal. The front connection portion also includes a contact edge that wipes impurities off the contact surface. An electrical connection between the socket terminal and the plug terminal can be maintained by locking the socket terminal on the inner wall even with an application of vibrations in directions in which the plug terminal is inserted and pulled out. Since the contact edge can remove the impurities, the electrical connection between the terminals can be stabilized.

Abstract: A linkage apparatus is provided. The linkage apparatus is disposed between a bottom plate and a carrier plate, and the linkage apparatus includes a drag link and an ā€œLā€ shape swing link. The drag link is rotatably connected to an end of the ā€œLā€ shape swing link, and the drag link and the bottom plate are connected to a fixing pin by using a horizontal guide groove; a corner in the middle of the swing link is rotatably connected to the bottom plate, and another end is fastened to the carrier plate; another fixing pin connects the bottom plate and the carrier plate. The swing link is driven by the drag link, so that the carrier plate can be driven to vertically move. Therefore, hot plugging of a peripheral component interconnect (PCI) express card fastened on the carrier plate and plugging of another printed circuit board (PCB) that requires two-dimensional plugging can be implemented without interrupting a power supply.

Abstract: The present invention can relate to multiple-connector assemblies for use in, for example, electronic devices. Each of the connectors are constrained to another connector by aligning one or more complementary sets of reference features. A locating bracket may be used to couple multiple connectors together. Alternatively, the connectors may be coupled to each other directly. The electronic device also may include a retainer coupled to the connectors (either directly or indirectly through the locating bracket). The retainer and a surface of one of the connectors may form a single plane to which an end cap of the housing may be coupled, thereby accurately locating the end cap with respect to the connectors. The present invention also can relate to methods of manufacturing such an electronic device.
