Abstract: A detection device and method commonly used for a video interface outlet and earphone line outlet is used to allow the detection device to detect whether a three- or four-terminals plug is inserted in the outlet. The detection device detects whether the impedance value of the video output terminal of the plug is larger than the preset value. If yes, the detection device control a video signal output terminal to output a video signal. If the impedance is not larger than the preset value, the detection device then controls the video signal output not to output a video signal and only to output an audio signal.

The outer vertical surfaces of each connector module are outwardly angled relative to one another to form a generally V-shape when viewed from above. The modules are reversible and two modules can therefore be mounted to the frame member with a reversed left-to-right orientation. A pattern of modules can thus be created on a single frame as well as along the length of the rack by stacking a plurality of frames one on top of the other. In particular, two modules can be mounted such that their outer vertical surfaces are either substantially parallel or intersect at an angle.

The USB connector has a rear step that is about half the height of the USB connector plug. Contacts on the rear step are soldered to the metal pads on the circuit board so that the USB connector is centered around the edge of the circuit board. The overall height of the flash device can be reduced since the bulky USB connector is not attached off-center to the circuit board, but is attached at the half-height rear step. Abstract: A joint connector is provided with upper and lower housings and linkage terminals accommodated in the respective housings. Each linkage terminal comprises a plurality of terminals and carriers coupling the terminals. A plugging-in piece of each terminal projects below a bottom portion of each housing. A piece to be connected corresponding to the plugging-in piece is provided on each terminal. In the linkage terminal, a carrier(s) is cut off and a plugging-in piece(s) is fallen down according to a circuit configuration required. A connecting state between the terminals in one housing is cancelled by cutting the carrier. A connecting state between the terminals in the upper and lower housings is cancelled by bending the portion to be connected. Thereby, a required circuit pattern is set in the upper and lower housings.

Abstract: An electrical connection structure that is able to electrically connect wiring to a biopolymer, a production method of the electrical connection structure, and an electric wiring method which is able to perform wiring on a nanometer-scale. A first aspect of the production method of the present invention uses a carbon nanotube as an electrode, and makes the carbon nanotube contact the biopolymer. A second aspect of the production method applies electric current between the electrode and the biopolymer of the first aspect. The electrical connection structure of the present invention comprises at least the electrode formed by the carbon nanotube and the biopolymer, wherein the electrode is in contact with the biopolymer. In the electric wiring method of the present invention, the electrode formed by the carbon nanotube contacts the biopolymer to complete an electrical connection.

Abstract: A system and method for embedding power and ground planes in a pin grid array (PGA) socket is provided. Integrated circuit pins are inserted into multiple insertion holes of varying dimensions in the power and ground planes. When the cover of the socket is sidably moved, power pins touch the power plane and ground pins touch the ground plane. Decoupling capacitors are also affixed to the substrate. Thus, the power delivery performance of the overall central processing unit (CPU) package is improved. Moreover, the power and ground planes enhance the mechanical strength of the socket which reduces warpage.

Abstract: For the adjustment of planar broad-band lambda probes, direct access is obtained to an adjustment element made of a resistor layer applied to a ceramic substrate. For this purpose a corresponding cover element is removed from the probe, or rather, from the probe developed as a wiring harness plug. A cover element is formed directly with the remaining part of wiring harness plug, preferably connected as one piece, and the cover element is made transparent in such a way that a laser beam can penetrate cover element, and processing can occur at adjustment element, even when cover element has already been mounted on wiring harness plug.

Abstract: A connector (1) is provided with configurable contacts (3) such that the contacts can be connected to each other via a printed circuit (16) comprising strip conductors (20) which connect conductive feed-throughs (19) of said printed circuit. For each contact of the connector, a sliding contact (26) which can be displaced between two positions can be connected or not connected to the contact to which it is opposite. The sliding contacts can be maintained between two stable positions via an insulating grommet (37). In a sunken position, the sliding contacts comprise a conductive end which is in contact with a conductive feed-through of the printed circuit and which is in contact with the contact 3. In a withdrawn position, the sliding contact is only in contact with the conductor opening.

  • Patent number: 5983298
Abstract: A circuit card of an industrial controller may be removed or inserted under power without loss of memory or disturbance to the power supplies of other modules through the use of a power failure signal derived from shortened pins on the connector between the card and the industrial controller. The power failure signal activates a timer delaying connection of the board components to power until the physical connection between the card and the industrial controller has stabilized. At this time current drain is ramped up by a controlling series FET. Upon removal of the card, the power failure signal causes outputs of an on-board microprocessor to be pulled to particular states necessary to prevent disturbance of a battery backed-up RAM and to eliminate current flow through protection diodes on other memory type devices attached to the microprocessor.

There are two stationary connectors mounted on the switch frame. A platform is supported by the frame for reciprocating movement between first and second positions. Such platform has two movable connectors thereon and when the platform is in the first position, one of the movable connectors engages or "plug-connects" to one of the stationary connectors.
