  • Publication number: 20120108112
Abstract: A ground fitting allows electrical connection between a ground wire carried in a metal sheathing, and a ground point such as a water spigot on a short pipe extending from a wall. The pipe clamp is tightened on the short pipe or ground rod. The metal sheathing is cut to expose a short length of ground wire. The ground wire is inserted into the wire clamp, and the metal sheathing is inserted between a clamping plate and clamp seat at the near end of the wire clamp. A ground screw is tightened against the ground wire to hold the ground wire in the wire clamp and plate screws securing the clamping plate are tightened to secure the sheathing between the clamping plate and clamp seats. The wire clamp is attached to the pipe clamp selectively parallel or perpendicular to the short pipe or ground rod to compete the ground fitting.

  • Patent number: 7559810
Abstract: Provided is a terminal block structure which includes a base. The base is provided with one or more terminal recesses thereabove. Inside the terminal recess are a holder and an inverted U-shaped nut. The holder and the inverted U-shaped nut mate and engage with each other, and have to be inserted into the terminal recess by a force. The square shape of the inverted U-shaped nut has a retaining effect on the inverted U-shaped nut positioned inside the terminal recess. Hence, a fastener (a screw or a bolt) penetrating the holder and the inverted U-shaped nut and thereby fixing the holder and the inverted U-shaped nut in position is mechanically counteracted by the inverted U-shaped nut, and thus the holder and the inverted U-shaped nut are unlikely to be released from the terminal recess.

Abstract: An aluminum enclosure of an electronic device is used in a corrosion environment. A long-term low impedance ground connection is needed because of security and EMC reasons. While common surface protection for aluminum in corrosion environments as for example polyurethane paint is not conductive, a stainless steel connector is provided which comprises a head portion and a bolt portion. The bolt portion is inserted into a bore of the enclosure or frame. An annular rib provided on the back side of the head portion defines a cutting edge which cuts into the surface of the aluminum enclosure and provides a gas-tight electrical contact. The front surface of the stainless steel head of the electrical connector element provides a metallic surface for connecting ground wires or other conductors.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, an electrical connector assembly comprises an electrical connector body and a clamping collar disposed over the electrical connector body. The electrical connector body comprises a pair of opposing latch hook strips parallel to an insertion direction of the electrical connector body. Each latch hook strip has an inward-facing latch hook situated along a distal region of an inner surface of the latch hook strip, and a forward-facing, inner-surface slanted platform. The clamping collar is slidably disposed over the latch hook strips. The clamping collar comprises a pair of backward-facing slanted platforms, each configured to engage a corresponding forward-facing slanted platform of a latch hook strip. Sliding the clamping collar forward along the latch hook strips clamps the latch hooks to secure the connector, and sliding the clamping collar backward along the latch hook strips unclamps the latch hooks to release the connector.
