Abstract: A machine for machining bandsaw blades. A machining device, a feed device, a workpiece-fixing device and a workpiece guiding device are mounted to a common central machine block. The machining device has a rotatably driven positionable adjustable grinding wheel with the workpiece-guiding device supporting the bandsaw blade and the workpiece-fixing device clamping the blade in position.

Abstract: A blade sharpener for grinding a kitchen knife, etc. in which two separate rotary shafts are provided in parallel, at least one whetstone is mounted on each one of the rotary shafts, the circumferential surface of the whetstone forms a grinding surface, the whetstone on one rotary shaft and the whetstone on the other rotary shaft are positionally shifted in the axial direction of the rotary shafts, and the cutting edge of the blade of kitchen knife is ground by moving the blade in the axial direction of the rotary shafts while applying the cutting edge to the grinding surfaces of the whetstones.
Abstract: A device for sharpening a rotating discoidal cutting tool (13) is described, comprising at least one sharpening grinder (21; 23). The device provides a dressing tool (61; 71) which interacts with said at least one grinder to dress the working surface of said grinder.
Abstract: A grinding wheel and a method for grinding bar blade for the production of spiral gear teeth are described. For economical grinding of such bar blades the grinding wheel has a conical grinding surface (Pp) widening from a small diameter (d1) to a large diameter (d2), a cylindrical grinding surface (Ps) adjoining the conical grinding surface (Pp), and a toroidal grinding surface (G) adjoining the cylindrical grinding surface (Ps). The grinding wheel embodied in this manner enables profile grinding (rough grinding) and subsequent generating grinding (finish grinding) of the surfaces of the bar blade without the necessity of remounting the blade. For practical purposes the grinding wheel rotates about a stationary axis (S), and the bar blade to be ground is guided along the grinding wheel at appropriately set angles.
Abstract: A grinding jig (5) is to be attached on an edge tool (4) to be ground on a rotating grindstone (2) in a grinding machine (1), having a support means (3) in the vicinity of the grindstone. The jig is split by having a base portion (6) and two parallel open yokes (8, 9) extending therefrom. A screw (7) for clamping the tool (4) against the bottoms of the yokes is provided in the base portion between the two yokes.
Abstract: An apparatus for providing a flat to stepped convex facing for grinding wheels used for the finished machining of parts, the apparatus including dressing wheels located only at the outer diameter of the Cubic-Boron-Nitride wheels to be dressed.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for automated honing of elongated straight-edged cutting blades such as those used in the printing and binding industry for the trimming of books or pamphlets and the like, wherein a sharpened blade which has been ground on other equipment is thereafter registered and secured at a predetermined angle upon a moveable blade holder support of the apparatus hereof, which support is then cycled to longitudinally displace so that the blade edge is thereby brought into sequential engagement with progressively finer abrasive surfaces of a longitudinal array of cooperative upper and lower orbitally driven honing heads whereby on a single reciprocated pass therethrough the blade is efficiently finished to a smooth sharp cutting edge. In an alternate embodiment of the apparatus and method hereof it is the honing heads which are longitudinally reciprocated while the blade to be honed is held upon a stationary blade holder support.
