  • Patent number: 10751736
Abstract: A spherical object cleaning system includes a cleaning apparatus for cleaning a spherical object. This cleaning apparatus includes a first member having a first surface, and a second member having a second surface facing the first surface. The first surface and the second surface are sandwiching surfaces sandwiching the spherical object. The first surface and the second surface are configured to be rotatable relative to each other. This cleaning apparatus further includes an introduction portion configured to introduce the spherical object into a space between the first surface and the second surface, and a discharge portion configured to discharge the spherical object from the space. One of the first surface and the second surface is provided with a spiral groove configured to guide the spherical object from the introduction portion to the discharge portion.

  • Patent number: 9089947
Abstract: A spherical body polishing apparatus capable of reducing polishing costs includes a rotating disk having a rotating disk polishing surface and a fixed disk having a fixed disk polishing surface opposed to the rotating disk polishing surface. The rotating disk polishing surface is capable of relative rotation while keeping being opposed to the fixed disk polishing surface. The rotating disk polishing surface has a groove portion formed therein and extending circumferentially along the rotation. The rotating disk having the groove portion therein includes an abrasive grain layer having a higher hardness than that of a material ball which is a spherical body and a holding layer formed on the abrasive grain layer and having a lower hardness than that of the abrasive grain layer. The groove portion is formed to penetrate the holding layer in a depth direction and to reach the abrasive grain layer.

  • Patent number: 8647175
Abstract: A radially inwardly open raceway formed in a nut centered on a nut axis is machined by of oscillating the nut about the nut axis while pressing a tool secured in a holder radially outwardly into the raceway of the nut. The holder is moved parallel to the nut axis and oscillated about a tool axis perpendicular to the nut axis synchronously with the oscillation of the nut about the nut axis. Springs brace the tool against the holder parallel to the nut axis such that the tool can move limitedly in the holder against spring bias parallel to the tool axis.

  • Publication number: 20100323590
Abstract: A bearing ring grinding machine having a grinding unit arranged to machine the bearings with micron-size tolerances and reduce a grinding cycle period. The grinding unit includes a fixed plate which supports a horizontally movable loader and sliding carriage. A carriage stopper, in the loader, holds the ring against the plate and between two lateral channels. The fixed plate has an opening for passage of a rotatable spindle, equipped with a magnetizable bush, to support the ring during machining and support stops for automatically positioning the ring on the bush. Initially, the carriage releases a ring to be ground which then passes toward the bush. The ring is then secured, machined, carried by a magnetic carrier of an automatic discharge device.

  • Patent number: 6758733
Abstract: A bevel edging wheel is described which has differing hardness abrasive matrices on the bevel cutting surfaces. The bevel edging wheel, which is suitable for edge finishing of an optical lens, includes: (1) a hub portion for attachment to a rotary power source: and (2) an outer circumferential cutting surface having a width, the surface including a bevel edging portion including a first abrasive surface and a second abrasive surface adapted for forming a bevel edge on a lens. The first abrasive surface comprises a first abrasive matrix, and the second abrasive surface comprises a second abrasive matrix wherein one of the first abrasive matrix or the second abrasive matrix has an effective hardness greater than the other.

  • Publication number: 20030017794
Abstract: The invention relates to management systems for unitarily managing and controlling information of a plurality of types of lens processing machines for manufacturing a glass lens of predetermined shape from a grass material. Its object is to construct production systems relying upon no experts, improve the reliability of quality management, make the products per worker the maximum, and make the stock in each process the minimum. To achieve this object, in a lens processing system comprising the plurality of types of processing machines for lens processing and an operation terminal connected with the processing machines through a network and capable of changing the settings of the processing machines, the operation terminal or a server unitarily manages various data every series unit and calculates the optimum settings for the processing machines every series unit.

  • Patent number: 6200413
Abstract: A system and method for polishing spherical shaped devices is disclosed. The system includes a carrier and an enclosure. The carrier has two projections so that when a device is placed between the projections, it contacts the carrier at two contact points. The enclosure matingly engages with the carrier so that it also contacts each device at two contact points. A movement system, such as a motor, provides relative movement between the carrier and the enclosure so that the four contact points polish each device. Also, the relative movement moves each device so that the device's entire outer surface is polished by the apparatus.
