Alternatively, the vacuum hood may be stamped or cast from a durable metal. The vacuum hood is equipped with a vacuum port to which one end of a vacuum hose may be attached. The opposite end of the vacuum hose is attached to a vacuum cleaner system. The vacuum hood has a spring-mounted attachment bracket that can be bolted directly to the concrete saw. As the blade of the concrete saw rotates, pulverized concrete is discharged into a chamber opening of the vacuum hood. Internally, the vacuum hood is shaped so that the pulverized concrete is directed toward the vacuum port, from where it is directed to the vacuum cleaner system.

    Abstract: An extension device for palm sanders, consisting of a rigid extension, on which is mounted a housing. The sander fits into a recess in the housing and is held in place by a pair of clamps, mounted on the housing. The housing contains a remotely operated lever, which controls the speed of the sander, by depressing the sanders own speed control. This lever is linked to another lever, which is located at the end of the extension opposite the housing. This configuration then allows the operator to control the sander's function while also extending his reach. The device allows the operator to safely sand large objects or structures that would otherwise require extensive use of ladders and scaffolds, thus preventing undue hazards to the worker. A packing port is provided to the accommodating space. Thus, installing or removing the packing can be easily performed. In addition, because the packing is invisible from outside, the appearance of the splash cover is improved.

In one aspect of the invention, material is removed from the substrate assembly by pressing the substrate assembly against a planarizing surface of a planarizing pad and moving the substrate assembly across the planarizing surface through a planarizing zone. The method also includes replacing at least a portion of a used volume of planarizing solution on the planarizing surface with fresh planarizing solution during the planarization cycle of a single substrate assembly. The used planarizing solution can be replaced with fresh planarizing solution by actively removing the used planarizing solution from the pad with a removing unit and depositing fresh planarizing solution onto the pad in the planarizing zone.

    Abstract: A granule dishwashing apparatus with at least one removable granule collector and method of use. The dishwashing apparatus may include a treatment chamber, a tank, one or more granule collectors and one or more pumping devices. Soiled articles are placed in the treatment chamber to be washed with a mixture of liquid and granules that is sprayed at the articles under high pressure. The mixture falls toward the tank after impacting the articles, passing through the granule collector(s). A liquid only portion is separated from the mixture using the granule collector(s) so that the articles can be rinsed. At any point following a cleaning cycle, the granule collector(s) can be removed to add more granules and to simplify the cleaning of the apparatus. The granule collectors may be connected to actuators so that they can be placed in a release mode or a collect mode depending on the function desired.

A refining unit is provided including a magnet positioned therein for magnetically removing the contaminate from the scrap.
