The response message is modified to direct a mobile terminated message service message intended for the first destination to the message service message proxy. The mobile terminated message service message is received at the message service message proxy, which determines whether a message service message forwarding feature is enabled for the first destination. If a message service message forwarding feature is enabled for the first destination, it is determined whether the mobile terminated message service message is eligible for forwarding to a second destination. If the mobile terminated message service message is eligible for forwarding, signaling is initiated to forward the mobile terminated message service message to the second destination.

  • Patent number: 8909206
Abstract: A communications system includes a caller device, a receiver device, and a communications device. The communications device includes a storage unit, a communications unit, and a processing unit. Each called party is assigned an identifier, and has one or more receiver device. Each receiver device is assigned a phone number. The storage unit stores a phone number of each receiver device associated with a called party. The processing unit includes a request receiving module for receiving a request, a request recognition module for determining whether the identifier from the request matched one of the identifier of the called party; an acquiring module for acquiring the phone numbers of one called party when matching. The communications unit dials the acquired phone numbers to establish communications with the receiver device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a method, apparatus, and computer readable medium related to mobility management. The method, apparatus, and computer readable medium may include, at least, receiving, at a network node, a terminating request from a user equipment. The method, apparatus and computer readable medium may further include, in response to receiving the terminating request, performing a restore data procedure, receiving a mobility management entity (MME) name from another network element in response to the restore data procedure, and registering the MME name to the subscriber data associated with the user equipment. The method, apparatus and computer readable medium may then include sending a paging request to the MME indicated by the MME name received from the other network element.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for dynamically forwarding incoming calls and/or messages to different mobile communications devices (“MCDs”). In one embodiment, a method may include: storing associations between multiple MCDs and a user and identifying that at least one of the MCDs is inactive and that at least one of the MCDs is active. The method may further include: receiving an incoming call or message intended for the at least one inactive MCD; and if only one of the MCDs is active, causing the incoming call or message to be forwarded to the one active MCD; and if more than one of the MCDs is active, either: (a) causing the incoming call or message to be forwarded to at least one of the active MCDs or (b) not causing the incoming call or message to be forwarded.

Abstract: Methods and systems for call-forward initiated by movement may comprise receiving a call in a first communication device, sensing a motion of the first communication device, and causing the forwarding of the received call to a second communication device based on the sensed motion of the first communication device. The second communication device may be selected from one or more detected communication devices based on the sensed motion. The second communication device may be selected based on a direction of the sensed motion of the first communication device. The call may be established over a first communication network between a server and the first communication device, and the call may be forwarded to the second communication device by switching the call in the server to the second communication device over a second communication network. The call may be forwarded to the second communication device over the local connection.
