  • Patent number: 10085288
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for wireless communications. Cells may be grouped into a plurality of cell groups. If an uplink transport block (UTB) or an uplink control information (UCI) is configured for transmission via a second cell of a second cell group in parallel with a transmission of a first random access preamble (RAP) via a first cell of a first cell group, a wireless device may adjust transmission power of at least one of the UTB or the UCI. Additionally or alternatively, if a sounding reference signal (SRS) is configured for transmission via a third cell in parallel with transmission of a second RAP, the wireless device may drop the SRS.

Abstract: A method of searching of base stations in a mobile communication system has a first stage of detecting at least one slot boundary, a second stage of detecting at least one frame boundary and a scrambling code group, and a third stage of detecting a scrambling code. Multiple possible base stations are identified by determining a first threshold based on correlation values of correlating the input signal with a primary synchronization channel code. For each hit, the input signal is aligned to the corresponding slot boundary, an average correlation value is based on all correlations with secondary sequences, and a second threshold based on the average correlation value is set. Any delay and codewords that have a correlation value above the second threshold are correlated with the codes in the detected group so as to determine multiple base stations.

Abstract: A method performed by a wireless device (121) for receiving system information from a network node (110) in a wireless communications network (100) is provided. The wireless device first receives a first system information indicating one or more Public Land Mobile Networks, PLMNs, supported on a frequency carrier by the network node (110). Then, the wireless device determines if the one or more PLMNs indicated in the first system information exclude all PLMN(s) supported by the wireless device (121). When the one or more PLMNs indicated in the first system information does not exclude all PLMN(s) supported by the wireless device (121), then the wireless device receives a second system information comprising the one or more PLMNs supported on the frequency carrier by the network node (110). A wireless device (121) for receiving system information is also provided. Further, a network node and a method therein for transmitting system information are also provided.

Abstract: A multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) wireless communication device performing early camping in initial cell selection or reselection may detect an active communication on a modem stack associated with a first SIM, and a condition requiring initial cell selection/reselection on a modem stack associated with a second SIM. In response to receiving a paging message for the second SIM, the wireless communication device may trigger a radio resource to tune to a frequency of an identified target cell of the second SIM, receive a first portion of system information broadcast by the identified target cell, and determine whether initial cell selection/reselection to the identified target cell is complete. In response to determining that initial cell selection/reselection to the identified target cell is not complete, the wireless communication device may save the received paging message, and raise a priority level for the activity on the modem stack associated with the second SIM.

Abstract: The proposed approach contemplates systems and methods configured to transmit signals irregularly (sparsely) over a mobile communication network (carrier) in which reception gaps apply while increasing the likelihood that receivers will receive a signal at least once during a certain time period, called irregular signal period. First, a set of transmission offsets is selected, the transmission offsets defining a relative transmission time in a burst, such that if a burst would be transmitted using the selected transmission offsets, a receiver with any valid reception gap configuration would receive at least one signal in its whole duration. Then, during an irregular signal period, signals are transmitted in a sequence of one or more consecutive bursts using each of the transmission offsets in the selected set at least once, wherein the sequence of bursts may be preceded and/or followed by a period of no signal transmission.

  • Patent number: 9973977
Abstract: A system and method of supporting packet-switched handover of a mobile station (MS) from a GERAN/UTRAN cell to a Generic Access Network (GAN) cell within a GAN. If the MS is within coverage of the GAN cell, the MS registers within the GAN, triggering initiation of the packet-switched handover from the GERAN/UTRAN cell to the GAN cell. A preparation phase is then conducted for executing the packet-switched handover. The preparation phase includes identifying the MS context as part of the preparation phase and activating the GA-PSR TC towards the MS. Next, the packet-switched handover is executed, resulting in the MS switching to GAN mode. The MS then begins transferring packets via the GAN cell. The system and method also supports a packet-switched handover from the GAN cell to the GERAN/UTRAN cell.
