This method consists, in the event of requesting the setting up of a telephone call between a terminal (T) and the call center (ECC) by means of a dedicated calling number, in sending the call center a signaling message for setting up the connection and comprising a selected call identifier and a text type message including data representative of the location of the calling terminal (T) and the selected call identifier. At the call center, the method consists in associating the signaling message received by the call center with the location data contained in the text message received by the call center if the signaling message and the text message include the same call identifier.

Generally, the methods and apparatuses for implementing dormant mode with paging basically include (1) establishing paging areas; (2) communicating access group information to a computing device; and (3) locating a computing device.

The call request may include at least one set of keys and be ready for establishment of an sRTP call. It is then determined that a supplementary service is needed for the call request. This is facilitated without contacting the first device to generate a second key after receiving the initial call request.

In the base station, a pilot code pattern determiner determines a code set that includes a number of spreading codes based on a specific ID of the base station. A first spreader spreads a pilot symbol mapped onto an FC with a corresponding spreading code according to the determined code set, and controls gain so as to transmit the pilot symbol at a higher signal level than data. A second spreader spreads data symbols mapped onto the FC with spreading codes of the code set except for the spreading code used for the pilot spreading. A mapper groups a spread signal from the first spreader and spread signals from the second spreader on a TFC basis, and outputs signals that constitute each TFC to points of sub-carriers. An IFFT unit performs an IFFT operation on signals output from the mapper. Because the pilot as well as the data is spread, it is easy to implement the base station.

In another aspect, a method is provided for controlling the transmit power of a data transmission to a plurality of terminals. In accordance with the method, TPC streams are received from the terminals and processed to obtain a stream of joint power control commands used to adjust the transmit power of the data transmission.
