  • Patent number: 11889502
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques are described for providing additional feedback about a channel as part of a feedback procedure. Feedback information associated with a feedback procedure may include two stages of feedback information. Each stage of feedback information may include a different type of information. A first stage may include acknowledgements or negative acknowledgements for each feedback process supported. A second stage may include additional feedback information related to any downlink transmission that was not received successfully and thus included a negative acknowledgement in the first stage. Additionally, or alternatively, the second stage may include additional feedback information related to any downlink transmission that was received successfully and thus included an acknowledgement in the first stage. Techniques are also described for handling the variable size of the feedback information included in the two stages.

Abstract: Systems and methods for performing Evolved Packet System (EPS) fallback from a 5G system to an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) system are disclosed. The method, performed in a mobile device, detects a communication at the mobile device. The method then determines whether either the mobile device or a base station supports the communication over new radio. Directly in response to determining that either one of the mobile device or the base station does not support the communication over new radio, the method generates and transmits an EPS fallback message from the mobile device to the base station, wherein the EPS fallback message instructs the base station to initiate a fallback procedure from the 5G system to the EPC system.

  • Patent number: 10687382
Abstract: In a WCDMA mobile communication system, when the amount of packet traffic transmitted to or received from a UE decreases during a predetermined time in a CELL_DCH state in which a WCDMA packet data connection has been established, the UE transitions to a CELL_FACH state by a radio network controller (RNC). Thereafter, it is determined if there is no transmitted or received packet traffic during a certain time in the CELL_FACH state (which is an RRC state in which an RRC connection has been connected, and the dedicated physical channel has been released). When it is determined that there is no transmitted or received packet traffic during the certain time, the UE requests a network to release the RRC connection by utilizing a Signaling Connection Release Indication (SCRI) message. The invention enables a UE to check a packet transmission or reception flow, and to directly transmit the SCRI message to the network.

  • Patent number: 8620338
Abstract: A radio terminal, radio base station, channel signal forming method and channel signal receiving method wherein when an upstream unit band and a plurality of downstream unit bands associated therewith are used to perform communications, the quality of downstream assignment control information can be prevented from being degraded. In a base station (100), the PDCCH signals including upstream assignment control information are limited to ones that are placed in some of the downstream unit bands. This can reduce the probability of performance of zero padding to downstream assignment control information having greater importance. Also in the base station (100), the PDCCH signals of the downstream unit bands other than the basic unit band include only downstream resource assignment information.

  • Patent number: 8547565
Abstract: An image processing apparatus is capable of transmitting its status information to a remote apparatus. A job receiving section receives an image outputting job from an external apparatus. An image outputting section outputs an image based on the image outputting job. A notification destination information memory stores notification destination information including a first notification destination for a first output device and a second notification destination for a second output device. A communication section sends status information about the image outputting section to the first and second notification destinations. When the image outputting section is outputting the image, if the status information is outputted from the image outputting section, the communication section sends the status information to the first output device.

  • Patent number: 8442475
Abstract: A power conservation scheme is provided for conserving power in an access terminal that includes a dedicated proxy circuit, a receiver/transmitter chain, and/or a baseband processor. The baseband processor is adapted to determine when a wireless communication link with an access network has been inactive for at least a threshold amount of time. If such inactivity is ascertained, the baseband processor sends a proxy request to the proxy circuit. Upon receiving such proxy request, the proxy circuit monitors a data, control, and/or paging channel on behalf of the access terminal while the baseband processor is powered down. If a signal is received for the access terminal over the monitored channel, then a wake-up signal is sent to the baseband processor to cause it to power up and monitor a data channel. Upon receiving a response from the baseband processor, the proxy circuit may stop operating as a proxy.

  • Patent number: 8442568
Abstract: A subband determining method, a base station, user equipment, and a communications system are provided. The base station of the present invention finds the subband size on the basis of a system bandwidth and divides the system bandwidth into subbands. The base station further selects some subbands to form a subband set and assign the subband set to user equipment and notifies the user equipment of information about the subband set. The user equipment in turn finds its corresponding subband size and the number of subbands for use in feedback on the basis of the size of the assigned subband set. The user equipment further divides the subband set into its corresponding subbands on the basis of a result found and feeds back information about a predetermined number of subbands to the base station. The base station carries out optimization of its transmitter on the basis of the information.

  • Patent number: 8351966
Abstract: In a wireless communication system, an apparatus and method for managing an uplink communication between a network and a plurality of terminals is achieved by transmitting a response condition parameter from the network to the plurality of terminals subscribing to a multicast service. The parameter is associated with controlling the uplink communication of the plurality of terminals. The terminal then applies the response control parameter to a predetermined test and responds to the network if the terminal determines that it is qualified to respond to the network in response to a result of the predetermined test. The network evaluates whether the parameter needs to be transmitted to the plurality of terminals and whether the parameter needs to be updated based on at least part of responses received by the network.
