Abstract: In one embodiment, a server may obtain source data for a communication session having a combined audio portion and non-audio portion. As such, the server may actively split the audio portion of the communication session from the non-audio portion of the communication session, and then provide the audio portion (to a first set of one or more phones) over a phone channel and the non-audio portion (to a second set of one or more phones) over a separate data channel. The second set of phones may then obtain and merge the audio portion from the phone channel and the non-audio portion from the data channel to reestablish the full communication session.

Abstract: A wireless client station including a transmitter to transmit data, a receiver having a sensitivity, a signal strength module, and a control module. The sensitivity of the receiver corresponds to a minimum signal strength that the receiver is able to detect. The signal strength module is configured to estimate signal strengths of signals received from a plurality of access points. Each signal received from the plurality of access points respectively indicates a power being dissipated by access point that transmitted the signal. The control module is configured to, for each access point, determine a path loss based on i) the strength of the signal received from the access point, and ii) the power indicated as being dissipated by the access point, and to adjust a minimum transmit power level of the transmitter based on i) a lowest one of the path losses and ii) the sensitivity of the receiver.

Abstract: A dual mode RF transceiver is provided. The dual mode RF transceiver comprises an antenna, a differential low noise amplifier (LNA), a local oscillator and a dual mode differential mixer. The differential LNA receives an RF signal from the antenna to generate a differential amplified RF signal. The dual mode differential mixer comprises a switch module, a plurality of fundamental mixers and a plurality of sub-harmonic mixers. The fundamental mixers are activated in a first receiving mode to generate a first differential baseband signal according to a multiphase local oscillating (LO) signal from the local oscillator and the differential amplified RF signal. The sub-harmonic mixers are activated in a second receiving mode to generate a second differential baseband signal according to the multiphase LO signal from the local oscillator and the differential amplified RF signal. An RF signal receiving method is disclosed herein as well.

Abstract: A communications apparatus with a processor coupled to a first RAT module in a packet transfer mode for data transfer, a second RAT module in an idle mode and a radio transceiver are provided. The processor receives a reservation request requesting permission to use the radio transceiver for performing a first radio activity from the first RAT module, and determines whether to provide a gap interval during the data transfer of the second RAT module for the first RAT module to use the radio transceiver according to a type of a second radio activity to be preformed by the second RAT module which collides with the first radio activity. When the gap interval is determined to be provided, the second RAT module is unable to use the radio transceiver for performing the second radio activity and the data transfer of the second RAT module is suspended during the gap interval.

Abstract: A wireless communication terminal has a first wireless communication unit which performs data communication via a first wireless communication system and a second wireless communication unit which performs voice communication via a second wireless communication system. When an instruction of starting a voice communication is given, a temporal withdrawal process is started to the first wireless communication system, and an acquiring process of the second wireless communication system is started. After the voice communication ends, until a predetermined time elapses, an acquiring state of the second wireless communication system by the second wireless communication unit is continued. After the predetermined time has elapsed, the acquiring state of the second wireless communication system is cancelled, and a temporal withdrawal cancelling process is started to the first wireless communication system.

Abstract: The present application describes embodiments of a method and apparatus for determining handover parameters in a wireless overlay network. One embodiment includes modifying a bias value used to determine when to handover user equipment between a macrocell and a femtocell that overlays the macrocell. The bias value is modified in response to a change in one or more handover frequencies associated with the user equipment. Handovers of user equipment are triggered when a sum of the bias value and a measured value of the femtocell signal strength exceed a measured value of the macrocell signal strength.

Abstract: Wireless devices may contain multiple radio transceivers, each conforming to different communication protocols. A first transceiver conforming to a first communication protocol in a first wireless device may be able to receive, detect, and/or decode messages transmitted by a second transceiver in a second wireless device conforming to a second communication protocol. The first transceiver may communicate received, detected, and/or decoded information to a different transceiver in the same first wireless device, thus enabling the collocated transceivers to work in concert efficiently. A wideband transceiver using a set of multiple sub-channels in parallel may receive, detect, and/or decode messages transmitted by a narrowband transceiver using a set of multiple channels serially, thereby reducing scan time and power consumption.
