  • Patent number: 7736284
Abstract: A hand-grip accessory includes a body having a deformably resilient cylindrical shape provided with open end portions and an axial bore formed therebetween. The body further has separable longitudinal edge portions adapting the body between expanded and equilibrium arrangements such that the apparatus can be nested about a dumbbell. The accessory further includes a mechanism for tethering the body to a user's wrist such that the apparatus can be maintained within a restricted spatial distance from the user during operating conditions. The tethering mechanism includes a lanyard having oppositely situated looped end portions securely coupled to the body and removably positional about the user's wrist respectively. One of the looped end portions has a fixed diameter while another of the looped end portions preferably includes a coupling slidably mated to the lanyard.

  • Patent number: 7549950
Abstract: A weight bar slide assembly, for use with weightlifting equipment having vertical guide bars that provide for an accurate simulation of the free weight lifting motion. The weight bar slide assembly has a weight bar sleeve to rotatably receive a weight bar. A rod is attached to the weight bar sleeve and extends outwardly therefrom. A rod sleeve rotatably receives the rod. The rod may rotate along its longitudinal axis inside the rod sleeve. The rod sleeve is attached to a vertical guide. The vertical guide is movably mounted to a vertical guide bar. The longitudinal axis rotation of the rod within the rod sleeve allows for the freedom of motion found in the free weight lifting motion. The weight bar slide assemblies attached to opposing ends of the weight bar may move linearly along the vertical guide bar independently of each other.

Abstract: A dual-purpose dumbbell has a bar, two weights and two adjusting assemblies. The bar has two ends. The two weights are mounted rotatably respectively on the ends of the bar and can be configured longitudinally or transversely relative to the bar. The adjusting assemblies are mounted respectively between the ends of the bar and the weights to allow the weights rotated relative to the bar. When the weights are configured longitudinally, the dual-purpose dumbbell is used as a dumbbell or a weighted baton. When the weights of the dual-purpose dumbbell are configured transversely, the dual-purpose dumbbell can be used as a handle for doing pushups. Since the dual-purpose dumbbell can be used as a dumbbell, a weighted baton and a handle for use when doing pushups, less space is required to store exercise equipment and less cost is incurred to procure the exercise equipment.

  • Patent number: 7534199
Abstract: An exercise dumbbell has at least one weight selector that is rotatable into engagement with various combination of weights at opposite ends of the handle. On a first embodiment, first and second weight selectors are rotatably mounted on opposite ends of a bar for independent rotation relative to the handle. On a second embodiment, first and second weight selectors are keyed to a common bar and rotated together therewith relative to the handle.

Abstract: A dumbbell supporting apparatus having a matching pair of stanchions and a matching pair of stands, each stand for optional combined use with the castered stanchions. The adjustable height cradle positions of each stanchion position a removably placed dumbbell at least 25 inches outwardly from the upright of each stanchion, thereby providing clearance for exercise. Each stand can store weights, and each stand is selectively and elastomerically hooked to a stanchion, providing for stanchion retreat from an exerciser with the dumbbell lifted from the stanchion.

Abstract: The present invention provides a weight exercise device for use with dumbbells. The weight exercise device is an elongated J-shaped device having a support member with an elongated belt passage at the top thereof. An elongated channel being the lower section of the J-shaped device is attached to the bottom of the support member for holding the dumbbell. The dumbbell retention means is either an integral part of the J-shaped device or is an separate device for removable placed thereon. The J-shaped device includes the means for attaching said support member to the user; a support member; the means for supporting a dumbbell, said dumbbell supporting means being attached to said support member; and the means for insuring the retention of said dumbbell in said dumbbell supporting means while being used by the user.

Abstract: An improved exercise device in the nature of a kettlebell. The device has a frame covered by a shroud that is configured to lessen the impact of the device on the user. There are a plurality of weights that can be easily attached and detached from the frame to increase or lessen the load to the user. The weights are designed so that they can be added or taken away without altering the center of gravity of the device or the external physical shape of the device. There is also a base that holds the device while the weights are being changed and which also interacts with the device to assist in that exchange. The attaching and detaching system includes a pin that is used to affix the weights to the frame. A dual locking system assures that the pin does not inadvertently come loose during use of the device.

Abstract: A hand weight with a central grip area and contoured opposing weight portions at the ends so as to convey a ā€œZā€-shaped profile. The asymmetry of the hand weight results in a shape that is more open to accommodate a larger range of hand sizes and to more comfortably fit into the hand for a variety of holds. The shape of the end portions also results in an overall shape that is less obstructive of movements since it has a narrower profile when rotated appropriately. One of the ends is configured with a flat section to enable the weight to be positively and stably set on a flat surface and prevent rolling.
