Abstract: A window-guiding and sealing assembly for use particularly in a door of a passenger-type automotive vehicle having a window frame comprises a guide member directly attached to the window along a substantially vertical edge thereof and projecting into the interior of the vehicle, this guide member being slidably mounted in a vertical guide rail on the vehicle body. A hollow substantially oval sealing strip is integrally formed with a holder having a resilient clip for forming a snap-lock engagement with a flange and a recess along the members of the window frame, the holder having a guide surface on a horizontal portion for facilitating the engagement of an upper part of the window pane and a horizontal section of the sealing strip upon a closing of the window assembly. The holder is further provided along its entire length with an inwardly facing shoulder for engaging another hollow sealing strip attached to the door frame.

Abstract: A structure for supporting and guiding a motor vehicle window includes a frame which defines the window opening, a channel-shaped member fixed along a side of the frame and a sealing strip housed within the channel-shaped member. The sealing strip has a pair of lips which define a seat for receiving and guiding the edge of the window pane, this seat being displaced from the longitudinal center-line of the channel towards the side wall of the channel-shaped member which is outside the vehicle.
Abstract: Profiles or sectional shapes formed of elastic masses, especially rubber, are equipped with velour bands or tapes. The application of the velour bands is accomplished in the already formed profile which is still in a heated state, by slightly pressing the band carrier into the mass. The apparatus utilizes a guide element operatively associated with an injection disk or nozzle of an extruder, in order to deposit the velour band into the material at the extruder outlet. The profiles thus formed are used as sealing profiles in the window guides in the automotive industry.
Abstract: A core steel reinforcement for window guide channels or the like is disclosed made from thin strip steel and having high strength and rigidity. It has marginal portions or areas in the shape of corrugations of inverted substantially V-shaped cross-section, and a longitudinal median portion or central carrier formed to provide spaced elevations or embossments alternating with indentations or embossments, which aid in the bending or forming of the strip to curvatures both longitudinally and transversely required to conform to those at the corners of automobile windows and the like.
Abstract: A roof finisher is mounted over the roof panel and the side pillars of a vehicle. The front edge of the part of the finisher mounted over a side pillar is secured to the side pillar by a mounting structure, comprising a first fitting member fixed on the front of the side pillar adjacent to the window glass and angling outwards and forwards, a second fitting member fixed to the front edge and angling backwards and inwards, and means for fixing these two fitting members together.
Abstract: A double window construction and particularly an interior storm window construction wherein the framing or frame of the storm window is uniquely configured to provide both window support for the storm windows installed and also a smooth interior finish relative to the window opening being accommodated. The windows themselves are chamfered at their outer edges to provide for ease of installation in tracks or channels formed by resilient ribs. The sides of each rectangular storm window, as to the frame, are generally L-configured in transverse cross-section and include outwardly facing support ribs for providing support as well as space to receive a settable fluid substance such as silicone rubber, whereby to provide a secure support for the frame. The inner edges of the frame sides are preferably cut at the job site to abut directly the interior surface of the existing window frame.
Abstract: A window assembly, especially for the side door or doors of an automotive vehicle, comprises a window frame having a pair of generally parallel rails formed as channels opening toward a window pane which can be raised and lowered on the vehicle. The window pane is provided with guide shoes or like members received in and guided on the respective channels and affixed to the pane inwardly of respective edges thereof so that these edges can be engaged, even along the face of the pane provided with the shoes or guide members, by seals on the frame or vehicle body.

Abstract: There is disclosed a channel-shaped sealing strip incorporating a metal carrier covered with flexible material, the metal carrier comprising a series of side-by-side U-shaped elements each of which is connected to the next element by at least one connecting link. At least during the manufacturing process for the strip, adjacent elements are also connected by at least one other connection whose thickness is reduced compared with the connecting link and with the remainder of the metal; these other connections may, and advantageously do, break during the manufacturing process so that, in the finished strip, each U-shaped element is connected to the next element by the connecting link but is also spaced therefrom by distance pieces formed from the broken-off connections.
Abstract: A channel-shaped sealing strip, such as for embracing, protecting and decorating the flange around the door opening of a vehicle body, comprises a channel-shaped metal core or carrier embedded in elastomeric material. The metal carrier comprises side-by-side U-shaped metal strip elements which overlap each other and are interconnected by short flexible and integral connecting links.
Abstract: The sliding window in the door of an automotive vehicle is movably guided between a longer and a shorter glass run channel and in a guide groove of a guide member spacedly aligned in the direction of window movement with the channel shortened to accomodate a lock element on the door. Movement of the pane into and out of the groove is facilitated by a flaring orifice of the groove.

Abstract: Two or more guide following members fastened to a vehicle body window panel each comprises a plurality of projected slide surfaces in constant sliding engagement with the inner wall of a vertically elongate guide channel mounted on a vehicle body. The window panel is connected to the guide following member by means of a shaft carrying a ball joint.
