Abstract: A bonding apparatus according to the present invention relates to a sewing machine (28) which on stitching a connecting flap and a flap to be connected (hereafter referred to as only ‘connected flap’) of one unit, one set of two sheets for a corrugated cardboard box, ensures the folding of the connecting flap and the connected flap, inhibits the blind movement of the position, rectangular in section, of the sheets for the corrugated cardboard box when thread-stitching them, solves the load burdened on a looper mechanism, and provides an appropriate thread-stitching work. The sewing machine (28) comprises a sewing-machine needle mechanism (28b) provided with a sewing-machine needle (28a) and the looper mechanism (28d) having a needle plate (28c).
Abstract: A container disclosed herein comprises a tubular sidewall defining a peripherally enclosed space, the sidewall having an annular end portion defining an open end of the space. The end portion is provided with through openings spaced circumferentially about the open end. A plurality of blocks of a synthetic resin of a size and shape corresponding to a size and shape of the sidewall through openings are retained therein. A closure of synthetic resin has a U-shaped annular connecting portion receiving the end portion of the sidewalls. The sidewall is secured to the closure by vibrationally welding the connecting portion to the blocks.
Abstract: A container disclosed herein comprises a tubular sidewall defining a peripherally enclosed space, the sidewall having an annular end portion defining an open end of the space. The end portion is provided with through openings spaced circumferentially about the open end. A closure of synthetic resin comprises a U-shaped annular connecting ring having opposed, facing walls and a turned connecting wall extending therebetween to define an annular channel. The channel receives the sidewall end portion, one of the walls including a plurality of blocks of synthetic resin integrally formed therewith and spaced circumferentially about the one wall facing the other wall and of a size corresponding to a size of the sidewall through openings to be received therein. The sidewall is secured to the closure by vibrationally welding the connecting portion other wall to the blocks.
Abstract: The end wall of a Bliss-type container is secured to the flanges extending from the side walls and the bottom of the container, the securing being accomplished by a single stitching device. The container body is caused to move in a closed path on a carriage or platen for the stitching operation. The term "stitching" herein is not intended to merely mean the use of staples, but is intended to mean, for example, the use of an eyelet machine, a riveting machine, or a commercial sewing machine.
