  • Patent number: 10252483
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to an apparatus and method for creating folded multi-dimensional shapes from pliable substrates. An apparatus having a handle connected to one or more plungers that are configured to move along a longitudinal axis is used to form folds in a flat substrate by pressing dies attached to the plungers into a die area to shape the flat substrate. The handle is depressed multiple times to achieve the desired number of folds in the substrate. The apparatus may include one or more plunger adjustment mechanisms to switch use of the one or more plungers to create different sets of folds in the substrate with each depression.

  • Publication number: 20150020479
Abstract: A new package or box type having an internal core or frame structure comprising of plastic or other polymer material sandwiched between two cardboard sheets an all sides of the box forming the outer walls of the box. The walls of the box containing the frame structure are more resistant to bursting or crushing than conventional corrugated cardboard used in the industry for transporting goods. Use of plastic or polymers applied to the core frame results in less material consumption than conventional corrugated cardboard. This invention yields higher package strength throughout the package structure and not just the edge of the package in order to negate the use of the double corrugated walls design as widely used in corrugated card board to achieve similar package strength quality while minimizing package weight and preserving exterior package composition of cardboard for handling purposes.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a vesicant cup includes a cut fan-shape vesicant plate having thinner upper and lower arcs formed as upper and lower edges. The vesicant plate is rolled and pressed on two stacking joints formed on left and right edges of the vesicant plate respectively. The pressed joints are thinner than other portions of the cup body not being pressed. A lip is formed by rolling up the upper edge outward, and a bottom join is formed by folding up the lower edge inwards. An edge of a vesicant cup bottom is bent downwards as a round joint for connecting and sealing the bottom joint of the vesicant cup body. A thickness of the round joint, bottom joint and the vesicant cup body corresponding to the round joint is thinner than other portions of the vesicant cup body not being pressed.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method, in a filling machine, of producing a package with a top of plastic which is injection moulded in the machine and is capped before the top has become configurationally stable. In the method, the capping, at least during a first introductory phase, takes place in that a cap with internal threads is rotated and the package is displaced linearly in a direction towards the cap in such a manner that it may be ensured that the relationship between the speed of rotation of the cap and the speed of displacement of the package substantially correspond to the thread pitch of the threads in the cap and in corresponding threads on the neck when the threads enter into mesh with one another.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for feeding continuous zipper material with sliders to a thermoforming packaging machine that advances the packaging film N package lengths each advance, where N is a positive integer greater than unity. In the packaging machine, pockets are thermoformed in a central zone of the web, while the zipper material is sealed to the web along a lateral zone that is parallel to the machine direction and does not intersect the pockets. A trailing portion of the zipper material in a zipper processing machine is advanced N times every work cycle, one package length per advance. A slider is inserted during each dwell time between advances of the trailing zipper portion. In the zone between the slider insertion device and the zipper sealing station, the zipper material is accumulated each time the zipper material is advanced without concurrent advancement of the packaging material.
