Abstract: A drawstring secured fitted sheet where the corners are fashioned to avoid binding the string. It has a hem that holds the drawstring that is fabricated separately to allow that the edges of the sheet can be curved. The hem is terminated short of closing to allow a gap for the drawstring to exit. A stiffener is added at the gap to hold it open. There can be a block or pulley added to aid in tightening.

Abstract: A multiple configured integrated bedding system that is removably secured over the bed mattress by multiple adjustable different length straps or additional bed frame engagement strap and fasteners. The bedding system provides for different cover and top sheet configurations including, but not limited to cover sheets have permanent or removable interchangeable top sheets, padded inserts, waterproof inserts and retaining perimeter cover lip with a variety of interfastener adaptive sheet restraints and fastening elements.

Abstract: An improved system for retaining a top bed sheet onto a bottom bed sheet is disclosed using a plurality of attachment mechanisms. In one exemplary approach a first attachment device is associated with the top sheet and a second attachment device is associated with a bottom sheet. The attachment devices are complementary in both operation and location such that the first attachment device selectively engages the second attachment mechanism to customize the desired positioning and retention of the top sheet with respect to the bottom sheet.

Abstract: A fitted bed sheet attachment and securing system that allows for the coupling of sheet to mattress as disclosed. The bed sheet of the present invention comprises a sheet base with at least one sheet corner harboring a notched edge bordering sheet sides that is configured in a reverse L-shaped fashion. The notched edge is characterized by a hook and latch system where a male closure strip is adhered to one leg of the right angle and a female closure strip is adhered to the opposite leg of the right angle. The sheet also consists of sheet extensions that project away from the sheet base and sides. These sheet extensions also contain male and female hook and latch type closures that are designed to mate with one another.

Abstract: A sheet connecting apparatus having a top and a bottom sheet. The bottom sheet has one or more buttons near at least one end of the bottom sheet. The top sheet has one or more button holes near at least one end of the top sheet. The buttons and the button holes are each positioned on the respective bottom sheet and top sheet for aligning the top sheet on the bottom sheet and for connecting the top sheet to the bottom sheet.

Abstract: A bumper system having a fitted crib sheet with a secondary layer which is attached to a top surface of the fitted crib sheet using an attachment means which secures a perimeter of the secondary layer to the fitted crib sheet, a bumper component having a first, second, third and fourth side panel, wherein the bumper component is attached to the top surface of the fitted crib sheet so that when the fitted crib sheet engages a crib mattress, the bumper component extends upwardly with respect to the top surface of the fitted crib sheet, in which a bottom portion of the bumper is constructed from a material having mesh and a top portion of the bumper is constructed from a padded material, and an adjustable strap on the bumper component which has a latch where the adjustable strap is adapted to secure the bumper component to a slat of a crib.

Abstract: A bed sheet attachment system with a pair of expansion panel assemblies that attaches a top cover to a bottom sheet by a plurality of panel strips connected by a plurality of fastener strips. The fastener strips are prevented from opening during sleep by a plurality of snap tabs. The plurality of panel strips provides increased cubic capacity between the top cover and bottom sheet for the sleeper to slip into and move within the bed. The plurality of snap tabs allows the panel strips to be separated at discrete lengths to accommodate the sleeper's needs and desires for the arrangement of the top cover during sleep. The bed sheet attachment system simplifies the daily making of the bed by maintaining the proper position of the top cover during sleep so that the user merely smoothes out the wrinkles on the top cover upon arising.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bed sheet attachment system that allows a user to quickly and easily change bed sheets. In one embodiment, the fitted sheet of a bed comprises an upper surface and at least one attachment member disposed on the upper surface. A quick-change sheet having upper and lower surfaces also is provided, wherein at least one attachment member is disposed on the lower surface of the quick-change sheet. In use, the attachment member of the quick-change sheet is configured to releasably mate with the attachment member of the fitted sheet, thereby facilitating the changing of the quick-change sheet. Further, at least one pocket member may be releasably coupled to the fitted sheet, thereby providing one or more storage locations in close proximity to the bed.

Abstract: A crib safety sheet and separable blanket with a sheet portion for selectively removing at least the blanket from the sheet, when the sheet is attached to a sleep surface. The separable blanket defining at least two edges for wrapping the blanket about an infant. The blanket may be removed from the sheet by separating the blanket, or by separating a sheet material portion attached to the blanket, from the sheet covering the sleep surface.

Abstract: A duvet and duvet cover combination where the duvet is arranged to be placed inside the duvet cover, where the duvet includes an integrated substantially rectangular extension part having a first long side attached to the duvet, and a second long side divided up in two parts that are separated by an aperture which extends essentially centered and over at least half the distance between the second long side and the first long side The duvet includes straps arranged in corners of the extension part and the duvet cover includes through holes arranged in corners of the extension part. The straps are arranged to be passed through the holes on the upper side and the under side of the extension part of the duvet cover whereafter they may to be tied together to keep the extension part of the duvet safely in place inside the extension part of the duvet cover, whereby the shoulders and arms of a user may be kept warm by the extension parts.

The mattress cover generally comprises a waterproof cover, a fabric cover and at least one fastener to secure the fabric cover to the waterproof cover. The at least one waterproof layer or portion has a plurality of edges. The fabric cover is removably securable to the waterproof cover.

Abstract: The pest proof bed cover apparatus provides a flexible, sealable, bug proof cover for both a mattress and a mattress support, such as typical box springs. The first end of the cover provides a zipping lock that properly seals against pest invasion and escape. Importantly, the apparatus also provides a properly supported fan mechanism for evacuating inside the cover so that air is removed from the mattress, mattress support, and from around and between the two, thereby suffocating pests. Additionally, pesticides can be used within the cover for even more positive pest control. The apparatus is cost effective in providing both pest control and in providing a means for sanitarily storing and transporting mattresses and mattress supports.

Abstract: A mattress wrap set is disclosed, providing an easy way to cover a mattress with a sheet, and remove the sheet from the mattress. The mattress wrap set includes a wrap sheet to cover the sides of a mattress and having a top edge that is inelastic. The top edge includes four right-angled corners and is adapted to cover a periphery of the top of the mattress. The mattress wrap set further includes a top sheet to cover at least most of the top of the mattress, and a plurality of fasteners, with one fastener located at each right-angled corner to removably connect the top sheet to the wrap sheet.

Abstract: A bed covering system is disclosed comprising an upper sheet and a lower sheet wherein the lower sheet fits on a mattress in a removable manner. The upper sheet is connected to the lower sheet through expandable flaps of material. A zipper runs between the sides of the upper and lower sheets such that when it is zipped, the upper sheet is pulled tightly against the lower sheet but when it is unzipped the upper sheet is allowed to move away from the lower sheet to the extent of the expandable flaps or material.

Abstract: Disclosed is a mattress cover. The mattress cover includes a top panel and a bottom panel, and a covering member. The top panel and the bottom panel are coupled to configure an enclosure having a side opening. Further, the covering member extends from at least one of the top panel and the bottom panel. The covering member is capable of being folded inwardly to releasably close the side opening of the enclosure.

Abstract: A resting method and apparatus for a young child. The young child can be either a newborn, infant, or toddler. The resting apparatus will attach to a cushion such as a mattress, or other back supporting device which is generally associated with a crib or other child's sleeping environmental structure. The resting apparatus has a base sheet or cover which attaches to the cushion. On top of the base cover is attached a pouch section. The pouch section is sized to allow the child to fit comfortably within the interior of the pouch from the child's neck to the child's feet. The pouch fits securely against the outer surface area of the child. The child is laid on its back within the pouch. The arms and legs are held in longitudinal alignment within the pouch. The pouch is designed to restrain the child from overturning from its back position to a front facing position.

Abstract: The present invention provides a safety apparatus as an aid for the prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome: A mattress, fitting the dimensions of a standard-sized crib, is composed of three different layers, allowing a free flow of air through it to the infant lying in any position. The lowest layer has transverse channels allowing cross-wise air movement. The middle and top layers have vertical perforations through them allowing a vertical flow of air. Being composed of 3 layers, differing in density and firmness, the mattress is both firm and pleasant to the touch. Therefore, in addition to its primary function, the mattress provides a method to counter a potential delay in the motor development of the infant, which can result from prolonged lying in the supine position. A mesh sheet is stretched taut over the mattress and fastened securely to the vertical bars of the crib.

Abstract: Coverings, such as sheets or blankets, for use in medical settings are described herein. The coverings contain one or more closable slits or openings. In the preferred embodiment, the covering contains two slits. One slit is along the length of the material, in the center of the covering, and a second slit is perpendicular to the first slit. Thus, when used to cover a patient, the first slit generally runs along the length of a patient's body, and the second slit generally runs across the width of the patient's upper torso and outstretched arms. The slits or openings, or portions thereof, can be closed as desired by any suitable fastener, such as snaps, zippers, tape, buttons, or hook and loop fasteners. The closable slits allow a patient to remain covered while receiving the necessary medical care. Optionally, the covering contains one or more pockets. The covering may be made of any washable natural or synthetic material or blend thereof.

One or more channels are disposed laterally within the mattress and connect the cavity to the mattress sidewall so that intake air is allowed in and exhaust air can escape. In one version an aroma assembly is also removably mounted within the cavity. Within the channels there may be disposed one-way valves to allow air to flow only in a first direction or a second opposite direction so that exhaust air is not mixed with intake air. A fitted sheet used in combination with the mattress may include a sleeve corresponding in size and location to the cavity, where the sleeve is made from an odorless washable material. The sleeve may be retained within the cavity by a plastic ring.

Abstract: The Mattress Wrap Bedding System holds bedding in place over deep mattresses. Standard-sized mattresses are accommodated including twin, full, queen, eastern king and California king. Easy changing of the bed clothes is achieved for deep heavy mattresses. Mattresses using this system can be on box springs, other foundations, platform beds, futon beds, and other flat surfaces such as steel bed platforms in truck cabs. Mattress wrap bedding includes four major components. Bedding is designed to be connected to ribbons on the mattress sides. Adjustable ribbons connect the bedding to an anchor. Abstract: A disposable cover for use with a public diaper changing station provides a sanitary barrier between the child and the horizontal and vertical surfaces of the diaper changing station. Three edges of the disposable cover include an elastic band for securing the cover around the horizontal surface of the diaper changing station. Another edge has two tabs permanently affixed to the cover. The tabs are double sided adhesive for attaching to the vertical surface of the diaper changing station and for securing the cover tightly to itself after use for sanitary disposal. The cover safeguards both the horizontal surface and the vertical surface of the diaper changing station to insulate the child and parent from possible contact with these surfaces during use. After use, the cover folds up on itself containing any contaminants and curtailing the spread of bacteria.

Abstract: A bedding system includes a comforter and at least one sheet. One of the comforter and the sheet includes a fastening element and/or a flap adapted to work in conjunction with features of the other to hold the sheet against the comforter. The sheet may include apertures facilitating reversible coupling of first and second parts of comforter fastening elements, to hold the sheet against the comforter.

Abstract: Disclosed is a bed sheet and blanket system and method including a fitted foundation and a selectively detachable connecting sheet or blanket. Embodiments of the invention include a second connecting sheet or blanket disposed above or on top of the first connecting sheet or blanket. The fitted foundation, the first connecting sheet or blanket, and the second connecting sheet or blanket may be connected through interconnecting components such as zippers.

Abstract: An apparatus for displaying bedding at the point of sale of a mattress includes a fitted covering for positioning on a mattress. The covering includes a surface having a plurality of different bedding materials applied to the surface for display purposes. The covering includes a top wall and a side wall, and a plurality of panels or layers of bedding material may be coupled to the top wall. A method for advertising and displaying bedding for a mattress includes the steps of providing a covering having two or more different types of bedding material for partially covering a mattress and applying the covering to a mattress at the point of sale such that the different types of bedding materials are visible to a consumer. The covering does not completely obscure the top surface of the mattress. The types of bedding materials are sheets, mattress pads, blankets, and comforters.

Abstract: A method for increasing the firmness of a pillowtop or any other soft mattress. The method includes providing a rectangular sheet of cotton fabric material having hook fasteners on one end and loop fasteners on an opposite end to attach the sheet of material around the mattress. The firmness of the mattress is increased by tightly wrapping the sheet of material around the mattress using the fasteners. The sheet of material is sized appropriately to fit entirely around the mattress with overlap. Preferably, the sheet of material is sized and manufactured for wrapping longitudinally around the mattress.

Abstract: An allergy barrier for bedding comprised of a sheet adapted to fit a wide variety of mattress depths by enclosing a top, all sides, and a portion of the bottom of a mattress. A pull string inserted within an outer hem of the sheet where the pull string is adapted to secure the sheet to the mattress. The pull string terminates outside of the outer hem. The sheet is made of a material having a mean average pore size of less than ten (10) microns.

Abstract: A connector assembly that enables a rope or other load to be attached to a tarp or other sheet material. The assembly includes male and female connector members having broad, flat base surfaces for engaging the material of the tarp from opposite sides. The male connector member has a sharply pointed screw portion for penetrating through the material of the tarp, and the female connector member has a threaded socket for receiving the screw portion of the male connector member. At least one of the connector members includes a projecting flange portion having an opening or hook for attachment of the rope or other load. The flange portions are flattened for being gripped between the thumb and forefinger when tightening/loosening the assembly. The grip faces of the connector members include raised protuberances that prevent accidental loosening during use.

Abstract: An apparatus for use with a bed and bed sheet combination is disclosed. The apparatus is an extender sheet to be used in combination with an existing top sheet on a bed, with the extender sheet being removably attached to the top sheet. The purpose of the extender sheet is to make sure that the top sheet would not be removed, or become “untucked,” during a sleeping period of an individual using a bed.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a patient transfer system. The patient transfer system is positioned on a support area of a first underlying surface's top surface. The support area (a) receives a patient and (b) is defined by a head end, a foot end, a first side and a second side. The patient transfer system has a base sheet, a transfer sheet a support sheet, a first attachment mechanism, and a second attachment mechanism. The base sheet covers the support area and has (a) a pivot line positioned near or at the first side and (b) a transition line positioned near or at the second side. The transfer sheet has (a) a proximal end that connects to the base sheet at pivot line and (b) a distal end that extends to the transition line. The support sheet has (a) a proximal end that connects to the transfer sheet above the transition line and (b) a distal end that extends at least to the pivot line.

Abstract: A multiple layer mattress protector is disclosed. The mattress protector utilizes, at least, two moisture proof layers with the top moisture proof layer being releasably attached to and removable from the bottom moisture proof layer. The top moisture proof layer may be easily removed from the mattress protector while someone is in the bed.
