  • Patent number: 11324706
Abstract: Disclosed are a composition and a perfume composition for inhibiting growth of breast cancer stem cells containing phenylacetaldehyde or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active (effective) ingredient, and a pharmaceutical composition, a food composition or the like for inhibiting metastasis of breast cancer, or treating or preventing breast cancer, including the composition. The phenylacetaldehyde inhibits growth of breast cancer cells and formation of breast cancer stem cells. In addition, the phenylacetaldehyde inhibits expression of self-renewal genes such as Nanog, Sox2, Oct4, and CD44 known to be specifically expressed in breast cancer stem cells, inhibits production of IL-6 known to be involved in formation of mammospheres of breast cancer stem cells, and inhibits STATS signaling pathways. Accordingly, the compound inhibits growth of breast cancer stem cells and is useful for the treatment of breast cancer.

Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous liquid fragrance composition which contains a fragrance, gluconate, an anionic surfactant, a non-ionic surfactant and water, the sum of the amounts of the anionic surfactant and the non-ionic surfactant contained per 1 part by weight of the fragrance being 0.3 to 1.4 parts by weight, and also provides an aqueous liquid fragrance using the same. By containing gluconate, an anionic surfactant and a non-ionic surfactant in an aqueous liquid fragrance composition, this composition of the present invention makes it possible to reduce the amount of a surfactant for solubilizing the fragrance in water. In the present invention, reducing the amount of a surfactant for solubilizing the fragrance in water makes it possible to provide an aqueous liquid fragrance composition and aqueous liquid fragrance using the same whereby favorable volatility can be upheld during use, transparency can be maintained, and the appearance will not be adversely affected.

Abstract: The present invention provides an alcohol-based stable and translucent fragrance composition containing a large amount of perfume. The fragrance composition of the present invention is a composition in which the total amount of (a) silicone oil and (b) ?-olefin oligomer that is a hydrogenated trimer, tetramer, pentamer, and/or hexamer of ?-olefin having 4 to 12 carbon atoms is 2 to 12% by mass in the composition, and the mass ratio of (b)/(a) is 0.1 to 0.7; the amount of (c) polyether-modified silicone with respect to (b) ?-olefin oligomer is 2 to 10 times in mass; the amount of (d) perfume is 3 to 30% by mass in the composition; the amount of (e) lower alcohol having 1 to 4 carbon atoms is 50% by mass or more in the composition; the amount of (f) water is 3.5 to 15% by mass in the composition; and the L value of the composition is 70 to 95 provided the L value is a percentage (%) of strength of a transmitted light compared with a strength of an incident light.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a dynamic mixture obtained by combining, in the presence of water, at least one diamine derivative, comprising at least one heteroaryl moiety, with at least two perfuming aldehydes and/or ketones. The invention's mixture is capable of releasing in a controlled and prolonged manner said perfuming compounds, in particular perfuming ingredients, into the surrounding environment. The invention's dynamic mixture gives rise to a more evenly distributed positive effect for the release of the different carbonyl compounds which are part of the mixture than other examples reported in the prior art.

Abstract: A highly photostable, broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen composition having an SPF of greater than 50 that retains about 90% of its UV absorbance over the range of 290 nm to 400 nm after being irradiated with 15 MEDs of energy from a simulated solar radiation source calibrated in accordance with the COLIPA standard. The highly photostable sunscreen composition is comprised of at least one dibenzoylmethane derivative, preferably avobenzone, and at least four compounds that quench singlet-excited energy and/or triplet excited energy, respectively “singlet quenchers” and “triplet quenchers”.
