    Abstract: An examination unit which is particularly suitable as an ophthalmologic examination unit for the examination of a patient by an ophthalmologist, comprises a storage region for an examination apparatus, wherein the storage region is defined by a wall, and an opening in the wall for passing the examination apparatus therethrough from the storage region. In order to ensure an easy transfer of the examination unit to the patient a support frame is provided in the storage region having a pivot bearing with a pivot axis. A swivel arm is pivotable around the pivot axis from a rest position in which the swivel arm is positioned within the storage region, into an operating position in which the swivel arm has the free end thereof laterally swung out of the storage region through the opening. Furthermore, the examination apparatus is suspended at the free end of the swivel arm.

    Abstract: Hanging components of the enclosed or open shelf type for an interior space dividing system utilize a disappearing pivoting hook at the upper rear corners and a pivoting mounting bracket or foot at the lower rear corners, the latter being pivoted to two alternative positions depending on the supporting horizontal frame element of the system or elevation at which the component is supported. Such hooks and mounting brackets are for the most part enclosed within the back-to-back face plates of the vertical panels of the components, such panel forming face plates having rounded edges forming a peripheral slot, such slot being enlarged to accommodate the pivoting movement of the disappearing hook and mounting foot. The face plates are readily assembled and disassembled by an internal tongue and slot connection at the front and by fasteners at the rear which extend through collars forming the pivots for the hook and bracket.

In order to stabilize the module and prevent tipping, a guide rail extends between side walls of the area across the opening. A rail engaging gaff projects from the movable module with the gaff being movable along the rail when the module is moved. The module may include various storage devices such as shelves, cabinetry and self-contained furniture articles such as table or desk tops.

The system includes a plurality of adjacent rows or tiers made up of a number of adjacent lockers or individual stowage compartments with access to each compartment provided on the lateral face of each tier. The tiers of compartments are positioned side-by-side with their lateral faces closely adjacent and each tier is adapted to individually move relative to one another, in a direction parallel to the lateral faces, between a closed, retracted position and an open, extended position. The installed system can be fully closed with all tiers in retracted position to eliminate access to all lockers or comparements. When selected or alternate tiers are moved to open position, access to lockers in those extended tiers is provided in the space between such alternate tiers defined by the width of the still closed or retracted tiers.

    Abstract: A support tower is disclosed for use in supporting a canopy which may be extended over a stage or the like. The tower has an adjustable base secured to the lower end thereof and a platform selectively vertically mounted thereon. An elongated angle member is secured to the platform and has a plurality of spaced apart brackets secured thereto. The brackets are adapted to detachably receive one end of a cable tightener. The other end of the cable tightener is connected to a canvas loop secured to the periphery of the canopy. A plurality of individual towers may be tied together by braces or the like so that the towers may support a large canopy.
