Abstract: An examination unit which is particularly suitable as an ophthalmologic examination unit for the examination of a patient by an ophthalmologist, comprises a storage region for an examination apparatus, wherein the storage region is defined by a wall, and an opening in the wall for passing the examination apparatus therethrough from the storage region. In order to ensure an easy transfer of the examination unit to the patient a support frame is provided in the storage region having a pivot bearing with a pivot axis. A swivel arm is pivotable around the pivot axis from a rest position in which the swivel arm is positioned within the storage region, into an operating position in which the swivel arm has the free end thereof laterally swung out of the storage region through the opening. Furthermore, the examination apparatus is suspended at the free end of the swivel arm.

Abstract: A pivotal mounting plate for a foldable T. V. antenna. The mounting is designed to be mounted on one side, generally the left hand side of the hard shell top of the camper. It is designed to stand vertically erect with the antenna mounted on it unfolded to render it operative. The mounting plate is pivotal to a horizontal position and latched over a stud or bolt in a carrying and inoperative condition. At this time, the antenna is telescoped and retained in a folded position.

Abstract: A prior art type of restaurant seating includes a longitudinal row of laterally extending consecutive seating stations delineated by and individually accessible from parallel longitudinal aisles. The invention herein discloses means for additionally employing such prior art restaurant seating in a condition where an individual seating station might be temporarily converted into a pair of laterally shorter seating zones to accommodate two small dining groups in a private and aesthetic setting. The convertible restaurant seating includes an upright partition extending medially longitudinally through the row of seating stations, the partition having a view-way in lateral registry with each consecutive dining table and which view-way can be temporarily closed-off with apt closure means.

In a first preferred embodiment, the storage zone is separated from the customer service zone by a partition, which defines a passage communicating with the walkway. Abstract: Hanging components of the enclosed or open shelf type for an interior space dividing system utilize a disappearing pivoting hook at the upper rear corners and a pivoting mounting bracket or foot at the lower rear corners, the latter being pivoted to two alternative positions depending on the supporting horizontal frame element of the system or elevation at which the component is supported. Such hooks and mounting brackets are for the most part enclosed within the back-to-back face plates of the vertical panels of the components, such panel forming face plates having rounded edges forming a peripheral slot, such slot being enlarged to accommodate the pivoting movement of the disappearing hook and mounting foot. The face plates are readily assembled and disassembled by an internal tongue and slot connection at the front and by fasteners at the rear which extend through collars forming the pivots for the hook and bracket.

Abstract: A room dividing partition includes a plurality of upright utility modules with at least one module being movable to selectively close a span or an opening, thereby separating an area into two smaller units. The movable module comprises an upright rigid structure having a utility depth for storage or other purposes and a plurality of friction reducing rollers which engage one or more tracks positioned along the floor. In order to stabilize the module and prevent tipping, a guide rail extends between side walls of the area across the opening. A rail engaging gaff projects from the movable module with the gaff being movable along the rail when the module is moved. The module may include various storage devices such as shelves, cabinetry and self-contained furniture articles such as table or desk tops.

Abstract: The specification discloses an office construction (10) for doctors, opthalmologists, dentists and the like wherein medical equipment (38) is supported on a cart (34) mounted for linear movement along a path behind multiple patient examining rooms (24) to increase equipment utilization. Each examining room (24) includes doors (30) which open when the cart (34) is positioned adjacent thereto. A conveyor system (70) and drop boxes (90) are preferably included to deliver patient charts to the examining rooms (24).

Abstract: A movable greenhouse construction adapted for use on a balcony or a patio having means for moving the greenhouse laterally parallel to the building wall containing a balcony door or patio door to permit direct access from the building to the interior of the greenhouse. After use, the movable greenhouse can be moved laterally out of the way to free the balcony or patio door for unobstructed access from the building to the balcony or patio and flush with the exterior of the building structure or closed balcony or patio door.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for drilling concurrently a plurality of wells within a laterally confined area. The confines of the drilling apparatus employ a structure having vertically extending walls rising from a drilling floor. A plurality of wells are drilled, each employing a separate rotary drilling table and a separate draw work assembly mounted in vertical displacement from the drilling table associated there with. Preferably, the individual draw work assemblies associated with separate one of the rotary drilling tables are utilized only to feed drilling pipe assemblies into the well and to aid in the actual drilling operation. To withdraw drilling pipe assemblies, a master draw works is provided and is mounted vertically above the draw work assemblies associated with particular rotary drilling tables.

Abstract: A locker or stowage system particularly suited for athletic or school use is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of adjacent rows or tiers made up of a number of adjacent lockers or individual stowage compartments with access to each compartment provided on the lateral face of each tier. The tiers of compartments are positioned side-by-side with their lateral faces closely adjacent and each tier is adapted to individually move relative to one another, in a direction parallel to the lateral faces, between a closed, retracted position and an open, extended position. The installed system can be fully closed with all tiers in retracted position to eliminate access to all lockers or comparements. When selected or alternate tiers are moved to open position, access to lockers in those extended tiers is provided in the space between such alternate tiers defined by the width of the still closed or retracted tiers.

Abstract: A fire escape unit for installation in buildings such as hospitals includes a hinged platform upon which a movable load such as a bed to be evacuated in an emergency is mounted. The hinged end of the platform is adjacent a hinged portion of an external wall of the building and in the event of a fire the hinged platform is released to adopt an outwardly sloping position and the external wall portion hinged outwards to form an inclined ramp, on to which the bed rolls from the platform, the platform lifting to fill the aperture in the external wall after the bed has passed through to minimize the ingress of air.

Abstract: A plurality of motors are affixed to opposite spaced parallel walls of a room. A plurality of cable-type support members each has a first end affixed to a false ceiling at a corresponding point thereof and a second end affixed to a corresponding one of the motors. The false ceiling is thus supported in parallel spaced relation with the ceiling of the room and is selectively varied in its distance from the ceiling of the room by operation of the motors.

Abstract: A two-level mall of shops is so sited that an approach is made approximately midway between the two levels. Preferably anchor stores are located at both ends of the mall and across from the central entrance. Mall shops are entered by moving up or down a half-level from the entrance to even out the advantage of "main" floor shops. At the ends of the mall, a level change is so encouraged by the layout that shoppers who walk down the length of the mall at one level will likely walk back along the other level. Abstract: A support tower is disclosed for use in supporting a canopy which may be extended over a stage or the like. The tower has an adjustable base secured to the lower end thereof and a platform selectively vertically mounted thereon. A winch means is operatively connected to the platform and the upper end of the tower for selectively moving the platform between the upper and lower ends of the tower. An elongated angle member is secured to the platform and has a plurality of spaced apart brackets secured thereto. The brackets are adapted to detachably receive one end of a cable tightener. The other end of the cable tightener is connected to a canvas loop secured to the periphery of the canopy. A plurality of individual towers may be tied together by braces or the like so that the towers may support a large canopy.
