Abstract: A security panel mounting system having: a mounting unit configured to attach to a mounting surface; a securing unit configured to attach to the mounting unit to form a base fixture; a shock gasket configured to nest within the base fixture, wherein the shock gasket is configured to secure a security panel within the base fixture; and a cover configured to engage with the base fixture. A center mullion may be implemented to allow multiple security panels to be mounted within the mounting surface. One advantage is that the security panel mounting system may allow for the utilization of security panels within any window or door to enhance security. Another advantage is that the shock gasket may allow for the expansion and contraction of the security panels, as a result of changes in ambient conditions, to occur without resulting in bowing or deformation of the security panel.
Abstract: A bird repellent apparatus having an integral base member and a plurality of prongs. The base member, by means of a plurality of tabs having holes for receiving screws or other fasteners, can be affixed to virtually any desired surface. The plurality of prongs with sharp tips presents an impossible barrier to birds that would otherwise land or perch on the surface to which the present invention is affixed. The combined base member and prongs are formed from injection molded plastic structure that also provide the tabs having holes to secure the base member to the underlying surface.
Abstract: A glazing including a glazed element with at least one rigid element that may or may not be incorporated into an overmolded plastic part. The at least one rigid element has a linear thermal expansion coefficient of the same order of magnitude as that of the glazed element. Such a glazing may find, e.g., application to the addition of fixing supports or reinforcing elements to a glazing for buildings, self-propelled or towed terrestrial or marine vehicles.
Abstract: A batten (100) for mounting cladding sheets to a wall or frame, said batten comprising an elongate channel member having a pair of spaced apart side walls (120, 140) joined by an intermediate web (110), and a corresponding pair of mounting flanges (124, 145) spaced outwardly from the web (110) and extending laterally from the side walls (120, 140), adapted for connection to the cladding sheets (300), and the batten (100) being configured such that stress applied to the cladding sheets (300) in use results in preferential deformation of the batten.
Abstract: A multi-layer wall panel includes a core filler material surrounded by two plastic sheets. Each sheet includes three-dimensional texture formed to resemble masonry or other desired aesthetics. A layer of concrete may be disposed between each sheet and the filler material. The sheet may be removed from the concrete layers to expose the concrete surfaces. Multiple wall panels may be stacked on top of one another and joined side-by-side with posts and connectors to form a wall assembly. A method for manufacturing vertical concrete wall structures is also provided.
Abstract: Method for forming an enclosure of the type having a plurality of enclosure panels and at least one door, comprising: providing a first flexible profile element (12) web (14) dividing said element into an upper channel (16) bounded by a pair of spaced-apart, upwardly extending arms (18, 20) of unequal height, and a lower channel (22) bounded by a pair of spaced-apart downwardly extending legs (24, 26) being provided with an inwardly directed flange (28) for receiving and retaining at least one rigidifying metallic strip element (30), said upper arms (18, 20), having inwardly directed interfacing portions (32) for receiving and retaining an enclosure panel (34) inserting a metallic strip (30) into said lower channel (22) formed in said flexible profile element (12) to form a rigid composite base element; and inserting a plurality of enclosure panels in said upper channel to form the walls.
Abstract: A construction block cap is used to cap the open end of a construction block in order to provide a generally air tight and water tight seal of the open end. The construction block cap has a body member with a top surface and a bottom surface and a raised portion extending upwardly from the top surface in spaced apart fashion with respect to the outer periphery of the body member. The body member is positioned so that the top surface rests on the edges of the open end and the outer surface of the raised portion abuts the interior surfaces of the faces and two of the side edges of the construction block. A channel can be located on the top surface on order to hold a desiccant tube. The bottom surface has a connection system to connect to a frame member, the connection system being either male or female in nature.
