The foam is particularly suited for use in external biomedical applications as, for example, a laminated medical/surgical dressing in which a thin sheet of the hydrophilic foam adheres to a nonstick aluminized veil on one side.

    Abstract: Liquid bromine-containing alkoxylation products of butyne-(1,4)-diol which are storage stable are produced. The product thus obtained is particularly useful in the production of flame resistant isocyanate addition products such as polyurethane foams.

The fatty polyols may be derived from an epoxidized fatty alcohol that has been reacted with a polyfunctional-hydroxy compound. The compositions are preferably salt-free and are useful in preparing a variety polyurethane materials.

The product polyamines have a molecular weight of from 1,000 to 10,000 and contain from 0.65 to 59.3 wt. % graft (co)polymer and from 0.11 to 2.9 wt. % terminal NH.sub.

Molecular sieves are included, which enhance char formation. The compositions have applications with stringent fire retardancy standards, such as electrical insulators, industrial housings, annular spacers, decorative objects, furniture or furniture components, gear and machine components, agricultural components and other related areas.
