Abstract: A low viscosity, stable graft polymer dispersion is prepared by polymerizing in the presence of a free radical initiator, from about 25 to about 70 weight percent based on the total weight of the dispersion, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer or mixture of monomers, in a polyol mixture comprising (1) from about 25 to about 99 weight percent of a polyol containing from 2 to 8 hydroxyl groups and having an equivalent weight from 30 to about 200, (2) from about 1 to about 75 weight percent of a macromer containing induced unsaturation, said macromer comprising the reaction product of a polyether polyol having an equivalent weight from 100 to 10,000 with a compound having both ethylenic unsaturation and a group selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl, carboxyl, anhydride, isocyanate and epoxy or mixtures thereof. These graft polymer dispersions are useful for preparing polyurethane products.

Abstract: A water soluble composition including an amine or ammonium salt of a polyimide precursor which is obtained by the reaction steps of: reacting a tetracarboxylic compound and a diamine in about equimolar amounts in a water miscible organic solvent to obtain the polyimide precursor; and reacting the polyimide precursor with ammonia, or an aqueous solution of ammonia, or a primary or secondary aliphatic amine in an amount sufficient to neutralize the free carboxyl groups of the polyimide precursor.A process of coating and a substrate are also disclosed.
Abstract: A composition containing a chelated titanium compound and an additive selected from the group consisting of (1) esters of thioalkanoic acids, (2) di-tertiary-butyl phenol containing compounds, (3) organic phosphites, and (4) mixtures of (2) and (3), retards the color change of the composition on storage. When this composition is used as the catalyst for one package, room temperature curing silicone elastomeric compositions of the type comprising a hydroxyl endblocked polydiorganosiloxane and a silane having an average of from 2.01 to 4 inclusive alkoxy radicals, the silicone elastomeric composition can be stored without substantial color formation. The improvement in reduced color change is useful in silicone elastomeric compositions which are clear or light colored.
Abstract: The present invention relates to new modified azulmic acids, several processes for their preparation and their use as intermediate products for the synthesis of numerous products.
Abstract: The invention concerns a material having good resistance to mechanical stresses and heat and in particular having substantial resistance to the penetration of a directed flame such as the pointed flame of a blowpipe. The material comprises a substance which can be polymerized such as a polyurethane, sulfur, and possibly halogenated compounds, phosphorus-bearing compounds, phosphohalogenated compounds, trivalent antimony oxide, solid or liquid fillers and pigments. The material may be used for the production of strong walls, in particular by filling internal cavities of armoured doors, walls of strong rooms or safes.
