Abstract: An aqueous coating material composition, includes: a hydrophilic polymer that has a hydrophilic group-containing structural unit and at least one hydrolyzable silyl group represented by formula (a) in a main chain terminal or side chain of the hydrophilic polymer, wherein the hydrophilic group-containing structural unit is contained in an amount of 30 mol % or more based on the entire hydrophilic polymer: —Si(R102)a—(OR101)3-a??Formula (a) wherein R101 represents a hydrogen atom or an allyl group; R102 represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent hydrocarbon group selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group and an aralkyl group; a represents an integer of 0 to 2; and when a plurality of R101's or R102's are present, the plurality of R101's or R102's may be the same or different respectively.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a coating composition for a dielectric insulating film comprising a) an organosiloxane polymer, b) first metal ions selected from the group consisting of Rb ions, Cs ions, and a mixture thereof, and c) an organic solvent, in which the first metal ions are comprised at 1 to 200 ppm based on the weight of the composition, a dielectric insulating film prepared therefrom, and an electric or electronic device comprising the same. A dielectric insulating film prepared from the coating composition of the present invention has an improved dielectric constant and superior mechanical strength and electric properties.
Abstract: A hydrophilic polyorganosiloxane composition comprising (A) a curable organopolysiloxane containing at least 5 mol % of diphenylsiloxane units or at least 10 mol % of methylphenylsiloxane units, (B) a curing agent, and (C) a specific polyether cures into an elastomeric or gel-like silicone product having excellent hydrophilic properties and prevents separation of the polyether over time.

Abstract: Hyperbranched polymers having a plurality of at least two different types of functional groups are described. Abstract: The recycled thermosetting flour composites and method for preparing the same are disclosed. The silane coupling agent is used as a coincidental bridge between recycled thermosetting flour and plastic materials, to apparently promote the mechanical properties of composites by linking with each other. As a result, the recycled polyolefin and recycled thermosetting flour are applied through interfacial modification, coupling, modification, mixing and granulating process to generate a composite with better mechanical properties and recycle the resource.
Abstract: Coating formulations especially useful for topcoat and clearcoat applications contains an isocyanate-reactive resin, a blocked isocyanate curative, and particles which bear blocked isocyanate functionalities, a considerable portion of which unblock at a temperature lower than the unblocking temperature of the curative. As a result, the coatings exhibit improved scratch resistance.
Abstract: Metallized nanostructured chemicals are incorporated at the molecular level as alloying agents for the reinforcement of polymer microstructures, including polymer coils, domains, chains, and segments. Direct blending processes are effective because of the tailorable compatibility of the metallized nanostructured chemicals with polymers.

Abstract: Water-soluble fluorescent particles are formed in a simple process. A mixture comprising a solvent, water, a fluorescent polymer dissolved in the solvent, and an amphiphilic molecule is provided. The fluorescent polymer comprises a hydrophobic segment. The amphiphilic molecule comprises hydrophilic and hydrophobic segments. The solvent is removed from the mixture to allow the fluorescent polymer and the amphiphilic molecule to entangle in the presence of water, thus forming the water-soluble fluorescent particles. In the formed particles, the hydrophilic segments of the amphiphilic molecule are entangled with one another, and the hydrophobic segments of the fluorescent polymer and amphiphilic molecule are entangled with one another. The amphiphilic molecule encapsulates the fluorescent polymer and at least some of the hydrophilic segments are exposed to render the particle soluble in water.
Abstract: A flame-retardant resin composition is disclosed which contains neither halogen nor phosphorus or reduced amounts of halogen and phosphorus, and has both excellent flame retardancy and impact resistance. An organopolysiloxane-containing graft copolymer composition comprises 100 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane-containing graft copolymer (A) and 0.02 to 3.5 parts by weight of an alkali metal salt of sulfur-containing organic compound (B), the organopolysiloxane-containing graft copolymer (A) having a content of halogen atoms of 1,000 ppm or less, and a content of alkaline-earth metal atoms of 3,000 ppm or less. Alternatively, an organopolysiloxane-containing graft copolymer composition has a content of halogen atoms of 1,000 ppm or less, and a content of alkaline-earth metal atoms of 3,000 ppm or less.
Abstract: A crosslinker (i.e., a curing agent) for polymerizing a film-forming material. The crosslinker is an organic compound including at least two functional groups reactive with a film-forming material and at least one pendent group comprising a —Si(OR)3 group, wherein each R is independently an alkyl group including from 1 to about 12 carbon atoms or an aryl group including substituted and unsubstituted phenyl and benzyl groups. Abstract: A copolymer and a process of making the copolymer are disclosed. The copolymer is produced from reacting a glycidyl ester and/or ether with a polyol comprising a functionality of at least 2 wherein at least 50% by weight of the copolymer comprises a minimum of 3n+X repeating units, wherein n is a monomer unit and X is a monomer unit and/or other reactant. Abstract: This invention relates to a coating composition comprising (A) 100 weight parts of a compound containing at least one acrylate group or a compound containing at least one isocyanate group; (B) at least one aminofanctional silicone resin; (C) up to 300 weight parts of at least one organic hardener; and (D) up to 5 weight parts of at least one cure rate modifier. The coating compositions of this invention are useful as a stand alone coating or as ingredients in flame retardant coating compositions, fabric or fiber coating compositions, UV resistant coating compositions, paint formulations, powder coatings, architectural coatings and adhesives. The coating compositions of this invention have enhanced thermal stability, particularly when used in coatings, paints, powder coatings, architectural coatings, and adhesives.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of SiOC-linked, linear polydimethylsiloxane-polyoxyalkylene block copolymers having (AB) repeat units, via reaction of one or more polyetherdiols with a stoichiometric excess of ?,?-dihydropoly-dimethylsiloxanes and at least one tertiary amine as catalyst, which comprises, after completed reaction of the alcohol component, continuing the reaction in the presence of small amounts of water until no remaining ?Si(H) groups are detectable by a gas-volumetric method.
Abstract: Stable blend compositions composed of mixtures of polysiloxane(s) and organic polymer(s) are claimed. These polymer blends are white and opaque indicating the presence of phase separation on the micron scale. Such blends can be stored for long periods of time (years) without exhibiting evidence of macroscopic phase separation. These stable blends are achieved without substantial crosslinking as evidenced by the fact that the polymer blend is readily dissolved in a suitable organic solvent for molecular weight characterization. The stable blends of the present invention have particular utility as fouling release coatings for marine applications.

Abstract: A surface-modified precipitated silica, useful as a matting agent, contains the silica having a polymer on a surface thereof. Abstract: A wiper blade made of a compound having a methyl vinyl silicone polymer, a filler, and a friction-reducing additive is provided. The friction-reducing additive is present in an amount from between about 5 and 42 weight percent, preferably 11 percent. The average particle size of the friction-reducing additive is preferably less than about 25 microns, thereby permitting extrusion of the compound into the shape of a wiper blade. Polytetrafluoroethylene is preferred as a friction-reducing additive, but other substances, such as boron nitride or graphite could be used.

Abstract: Siliceous materials were prepared by adding one or more additives, including one or more water soluble polymers, and derivatives thereof, as well as trifunctional silanes, to sols containing tetraalkoxysilanes derived from polyols. The polymers facilitate phase separation of the growing silica gel matrix, leading to high surface area self-supporting silica gels with cure occurring at ambient temperatures. Abstract: Thermal curable compositions contains a glycidyl ether epoxide resin, a carbinol functional silicone resin or an anhydride functional silicone resin, and a thermal catalyst. An organic polyol, an organic anhydride, and filler, are optional components that may also be included in the composition. The glycidyl ether epoxide resin adds toughness and adhesion to the composition, whereas the carbinol functional silicone resin and the anhydride functional silicone resin provide water resistance, weatherability, thermal stability, and flexibility.

Abstract: An aqueous dispersion coating for rubber and polymer substrates comprises a blend of a polysiloxane and a curable polyurethane and various additives such as a urethane crosslinking agent, a heat resistant filler, and the like. The aqueous dispersion coating reduces the noise upon contact or movement of the coated substrate with an article and maintains the initial static coefficient of friction therewith over a period of time. Abstract: An objective of the present invention is to provide a phosphorous-containing siliceous material having a specific permittivity of not more than 3.5. The phosphorus-containing silazane composition according to the present invention is characterized by comprising a polyalkylsilazane and at least one phosphorus compound in an organic solvent. A phosphorus-containing siliceous film may be formed by coating the composition onto a substrate to form a film which is then prebaked at a temperature of 50 to 300° C. and is then baked in an inert atmosphere at a temperature of 300 to 700° C. The phosphorus compound according to the present invention is preferably a pentavalent phosphoric ester or phosphazene compound.

Abstract: [Problems] To provide a novel alkoxysilane having a diol protected, an organosilicon resin which has a diol and the composition of which can be easily regulated, and to processes for producing these. [Means for solving problems] The alkoxysilane is an organosilicon compound represented by the following formula (1). The organosilicon resin having a diol is one obtained by hydrolyzing-condensing this compound with a multifunctional alkoxysilane. (In the formula, each of R1, R2 and R3 is an alkyl group or an alkoxy group each having carbon number from 1 to 6. R4 is an alkylene group having carbon number from 2 to 6. Z is an alkylene group having carbon number from 1 to 3.) The alkoxysilane of the present invention can be produced by a hydrosilylation reaction of a compound represented by the following formula (4) and a silane compound R1R2R3SiH. (In the formula, Z is an alkylene group having carbon number from 1 to 3 and R5 has a carbon-carbon double bond at the terminal.

Abstract: Crosslinkable liquid composition which can crosslink to give a hydrophobic and/or oleophobic silicone elastomer coating, comprising a polyorganosiloxane (POS) resin A exhibiting, per molecule, on the one hand, at least two different siloxyl units chosen from those of M, D, T and Q types, one of the units being a T unit or a Q unit, and, on the other hand, at least three hydrolysable/condensable groups of OH and/or OR1 types, where R1 is a linear or branched C1 to C6, preferably C1 to C3, alkyl radical, a system for promoting attachment B and a polyfluoroacrylate F. Abstract: A composition comprising a siloxane resin, a silicon compound substantially consisting of silicon, carbon and hydrogen, wherein the number ratio of carbon to silicon atoms forming an —X— bond (wherein X is (C)m (where m is an integer in the range of from 1 to 3), or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group with 9 or less carbon atoms) in the main chain of one molecule is in the range of from 2:1 to 12:1, and a solvent, is subjected to a heat treatment to form a low dielectric constant film. Accordingly, a low dielectric constant film having excellent resistance against chemicals and excellent moisture resistance is provided. A semiconductor integrated circuit having a fast response can be produced by using the film.
