The functional macroinitiator compound is reacted with an amine functional compound to open the cyclic moiety and form a first functional group and a second functional group. To form the branched polymer, at least one of a second polymeric unit is propagated from the first functional group and a third polymeric unit is propagated from the second functional group.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2009Publication date: December 9, 2010Inventors: James L. Publication number: 20100305279Abstract: A package for microelectronic circuits includes a frame made of a high molecular weight plastic material, such as a liquid crystal polymer (LCP), attached to a flange, or leadframe. The plastic material is injection molded to the flange. Initial polymerization of the plastic material can occur in a liquid state and results in an intermediate material having an initial melting temperature. After the frame is injection molded, the frame is heated and undergoes further (secondary) polymerization, thereby lengthening polymer chains in the plastic material. These longer polymer chains have higher molecular weight, and the resulting final material has a higher melting temperature, than the intermediate material. The resulting ultra-high molecular weight polymer can withstand high temperatures, such as those encountered during soldering. Thus, after the further (secondary) polymerization, a die can be soldered to the flange, without damaging the plastic frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2010Publication date: December 2, 2010Inventor: Michael Zimmerman

Patent number: 7807759Abstract: The present invention relates to a branched and sulphonated multi block copolymer and an electrolyte membrane using the same, more precisely, a branched and sulphonated multi block copolymer composed of the repeating unit represented by formula 1 and a preparation method thereof, a hydrogenated branched and sulphonated multi block copolymer, a branched and sulphonated multi block copolymer electrolyte membrane and a fuel cell to which the branched and sulphonated multi block copolymer electrolyte membrane is applied. The electrolyte membrane of the present invention has high proton conductivity and excellent mechanical properties as well as chemical stability, so it can be effectively used for the production of thin film without the decrease of membrane properties according to the increase of sulfonic acid group since it enables the regulation of the distribution, the location and the number of sulfonic acid group in polymer backbone.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2005Date of Patent: October 5, 2010Assignee: LG Chem, Ltd.Inventors: Chong-kyu Shin, Young-ji Tae, Jae-hyuk Chang, Bong-keun Lee, Chang-ae Cho, Sang-hyun Lee, Hwang-chan Yoo, Go-young Moon

Publication number: 20100249276Abstract: The invention provides epoxy and oxetane compositions including the novel acyloxy and N-acyl curing agents described herein. Use of invention curing agents result in cured adhesive compositions with remarkably increased adhesion and reduced hydrophilicity when compared to resins cured with other types of curing agents. Furthermore, the curatives of this invention do not interfere with free-radical cure and are thus suited for use in hybrid cure thermoset compositions.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2010Publication date: September 30, 2010Applicant: DESIGNER MOLECULES, INC.Inventor: Stephen M.
