Abstract: The present invention relates to compatibilizers useful to laminate a layer of a vinyl aromatic polymer such as polystyrene and a polyester such as PET. The compatibilizer comprises a mixture comprising 5-95 weight % of a polyester, 95-5 weight % of an impact modified polymer of a vinyl aromatic monomer such as high impact polystyrene (HIPS) and from 5 to 20 weight % of a hydrogenated block polymer of a vinyl aromatic monomer and a conjugated diolefin sometimes called SEBS.
Abstract: A polypropylene resin composition is diclosed which comprises (a) 50-80% by weight of a specific polypropylene/ethylene-propylene copolymer composition, (b) 5-40% by weight of a specific ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer rubber, (c) 1-10% by weight of a specific hydrogenated diene block copolymer, and (d) 10-30% by weight of talc, wherein the polypropylene component of the component (a) has a melt flow rate of 100-1,000 g/10 min and a C.sub.f value (cross fractionation ratio) of not more than 0.5. The resin composition has excellent flowability and can impart excellent rigidity, high-temperature rigidity and impact resistance, and well-balanced combination thereof to the molded articles.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing dispersions of water-sble cationic vinyl polymers which can be used as process aids for separation processes, e.g. as flocculation aids, coagulation agents, retention agents or dehydration accelerators. The dispersions are produced by radical homopolymerization of cationic, hydrophobically modified vinyl monomers or their copolymerization with water-soluble vinyl monomers in aqueous saline solutions. In this respect block copolymers are used as dispersion stabilizers, and which are formed from a cationic vinyl monomer and ethyleneoxide.

Abstract: A composition comprising in admixture with a polymer, preferably a polyurethane, and a compatible surface-modifying macromolecule having (i) a central portion of a segmented block oligomeric copolymer comprising at least one polar hard segment, and (ii) .varies.-.omega. terminal polyfluoro oligomeric groups, in a surface modifying enhancing amount. Abstract: A multiple layer structure comprising a skin layer composed of a polypropylene copolymer with styrene ethylene-butene styrene block copolymer within a range of 0-20% by weight skin layer, and, a radio frequency ("RF") susceptible layer adhered to the skin layer. The RF layer has a first component of a propylene based polymer, a second component of a nonpropylene polyolefin, a third component of a radio frequency susceptible polymer, and a fourth component of a polymeric compatibilizing agent.

Abstract: Thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) containing side chain crystalline (SCC) blocks. The SCC blocks my be hard (A) blocks or the soft (B) blocks (or both) in the TPE. Some of these TPEs are novel, e.g. those in which A blocks are SCC blocks, and the B blocks are polyethers, polyacrylates, polyamides, polyurethanes or polysiloxanes. The SCC-containing TPEs are particularly useful as matrix materials for other components which are dispersed therein, e.g. energetic solids and other thermally responsive materials.
