Abstract: The invention relates to orthogonal pairs of tRNAs and aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase that can incorporate the unnatural amino acid phenylselenocysteine into proteins produced in eubacterial host cells such as E. coli. The invention provides, for example but not limited to, novel orthogonal aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases, polynucleotides encoding the novel sythetases molecules, methods for identifying and making the novel synthetases, methods for producing containing the unnatural amino acid phenylselenocysteine and translation systems. The invention further provides methods for producing modified proteins (e.g., lapidated proteins) through targeted modification of the phenylselenocysteine residue in a protein.
Abstract: A method of designing handmade paper crafts is disclosed. The method includes accessing a server from a client and selecting a three-dimensional view of a paper craft from a database in the server. The server computes a two-dimensional view of the paper craft according to the three-dimensional view of the paper craft. The two-dimensional view of the paper craft is capable of being made to form the three-dimensional view of the paper craft. In the two-dimensional view of the paper craft, a dotted line indicates a to be cut line and a solid line indicates a to be fold line. The client adds pictures or words on the two-dimensional view of the paper craft to create a modified two-dimensional view of the paper craft, and stores the modified two-dimensional view back in the server.

Abstract: The present application provides a unique process of canning a controlled substance where the cans are hermetically sealed and clearly identified in a number of different ways. The process will begin by inserting a packing and dehumidifying agent, preferably a formed rice cake. The controlled substance is then inserted. In some cases the rice cakes will be eliminated or just a single rice cake will be used on the top or the bottom. If the process of storing the controlled substance in an inert atmosphere is desired, the oxygen in the container is replaced with gaseous nitrogen. After the container has been sealed in the conventional pop-top canning procedure; an identifying scent substance is permanently adhered to the can or label. An internal or external microchip could be used to detect, track and trace the container filled with a controlled substance.
Abstract: An improved method and system for packaging horticultural products for transport is provided. An insert, which may be frusto-conical in shape, comprising a first and second open end is inserted into a larger vessel such that a watertight seal is formed between the first open end and the opening of the vessel. The insert thus defines a space between a sidewall of the insert and a sidewall of the vessel, and a space below the second open end of the insert above the base of the vessel. The space may be partially filled with a liquid in a volume such that when the vessel and insert is tipped or inverted, the liquid is retained within the space defined in the vessel. Also provided is a carrying case, which may be manufactured from paperboard or cardboard, for transporting the vessel and insert.
Abstract: An optical measurement instrument, which is equipped with transportation protection, includes a body structure (201), a mechanical support element(202) for supporting an optical interface, a moveably supported receptable element (211) for receiving a sample plate and located between the mechanical support element and the body structure, and a detachable transportation protection element (212-215) arranged to mechanically restrict movements of the receptable element and the mechanical support element. The transportation protection element is arranged to be pressed between the mechanical support element (202) and the body structure (201). Hence, for the transportation protection, there is no need to use e.g. a bolt that may be more laborious to install and remove than the transportation protection element to be pressed between the mechanical support element (202) and the body structure (201).

Abstract: A container with a corresponding bottle neck having a capsule inside of which a substance is placed that is to be released into the bottle contents. This invention avoids having to sterilize the contents again after the container has been aseptically filled, even though the substance in the capsule often does not endure these temperatures. Thus, this invention provides a method with the following steps: a) aseptic filling of the plastic bottle; b) welding a first membrane onto the container neck; c) placing the substance, which is to be released into the plastic bottle, on the first membrane that is already welded on; d) covering the substance, which is to be released, by a second membrane and welding the second membrane to the first membrane. Lastly, a closure with a secured tamper-evident layer is placed over the capsule and onto the bottle neck.

Abstract: A container assembly including a composite inner seal with a removable coupon affixed thereon by a pressure-sensitive agent, thus sealing an opening of the container is disclosed. In some embodiments, the removable coupon is capable of being removed intact. Methods of manufacturing a container assembly including fabricating an inner composite seal and a removable coupon are disclosed. The removable component is removably affixed to a top surface of the inner composite seal by application of a pressure-sensitive agent thus forming a multi-layered seal. The multi-layered seal may be positioned and/or inserted within a container cap in preparation for completing downstream bottling of a medicinal substance. Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for quickly, reliably, and inexpensively evacuating air from ordinary re-sealable plastic bags without employing special adapters to interface with vacuum pumps. The system consists of a vacuum pump, an outer re-sealable plastic bag that acts as a flexible vacuum chamber, a vacuum tray that fits inside the outer plastic bag and prevents the outer bag from collapsing onto the vacuum port. Users operate the system by inserting the re-sealable bag to be evacuated inside the outer plastic bag until the seal of the inner bag is in the proper sealing position inside the vacuum tray. The user then seals the outer bag, turns on the vacuum pump and allows the vacuum process to run to completion, during which the re-sealable inner bag is automatically sealed by the device. The user then opens the outer plastic bag and removes the vacuum-packed inner bag.
