Abstract: A protective sleeve cover is described for protecting anilox, gravure, or other costly rolls. The protective sleeve cover is cylindrical in geometry and has a means at one end for securing the cover to the roll being protected. The protective sleeve cover is readily mounted or demounted from the roll. Expansion tabs on the inner diameter of the protective sleeve cover create an interference fit with the roll being protected, causing the protective sleeve cover to deform and generate radial forces that enhance the gripping action of the protective sleeve cover to the roll. Friction pads can be added for enhanced gripping function with the roll.

The method may include providing a load on a load transport surface, removing a cornerboard from within a magazine by a gripper, and transporting the cornerboard to a corner of the load with the gripper. Relative rotation may be provided between the stretch wrap packaging material dispenser and the load to wrap the stretch wrap packaging material around the cornerboard and the load. If the cornerboard is not pre-formed, it is folded prior to transport to the load. The cornerboard is secured to the corner of the load with the stretch wrap packaging material. In a preferred embodiment, four magazines and four grippers are provided, such that four cornerboards can be carried to the load at the same time.

  • Patent number: 6950312
Abstract: The present invention discloses method for packaging and assembly of electronic units comprising a multi-planar board system in which each single planar board provides electrical contacts and/or signal drive to its successive planar board via a flexible cable forming the only connection between successive planar boards. In its packaged position the planar boards are laid upon one another without affixing them with each other or affixing them with the housing of the electronic unit, wherein the packaging of the planar boards preferably forming a daisy chain. Positioning and adjusting of the planar boards to each other is mainly achieved by the cover element being wrapped around all surfaces of the planar boards during the packaging process, positioning and clamping of the packaging of the planar boards within the housing is mainly achieved by the self-adapting suspension during the assembly process of the electronic unit into the housing.

  • Patent number: 6942325
Abstract: A packaging structure of a liquid container, which is provided with a liquid containing portion for containing liquid and a liquid supply port for supplying liquid, comprises a covering member for covering the liquid supply port. For this packaging structure, the covering member is a circular member formed by a first part and a second part to cover the outer circumference of the liquid container, and the first part is provided with means for sealing the liquid supply port, and the second part is made detachable from the first part, and the circular form of the covering member is broken by the detachment of the second part. With the packaging structure thus arranged, when the user detaches the first part from the second part of the covering member, the covering member is broken to separate the first part and the second part, thus unsealing the liquid supply port. Therefore, unsealing is possible at a constant impetus irrespective of the impetus of unsealing carried out by each individual user.

  • Patent number: 6938397
Abstract: A semi-automatic gift or package wrapping method and apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a machine frame that provides a work surface with measuring and wrapping sections. A sheet feed and cutting mechanism feeds paper from a role in two steps with a time pause in between for enabling a user or operator to partially wrap the package with part of the first section of dispensed paper web. Thereafter, the second section of paper web is dispensed and the web cut transversely at a trailing edge. Multiple selectable supply rolls are optionally provided, or a single roll machine can be used. Longitudinal cutters trim the sides of the paper to obtain a custom desired width for the full cut sheet. A user interface display controls machine functions such as start, continue and sheeter. In the sheeter mode, a selected number of sheets of a selected size can be dispensed and cut for use at another workstation to warp other boxes of known uniform size (i.e. shirt boxes at a department store).
