Abstract: The invention relates to the field of packaging, and more particularly to a shared packaging box for an LCD panel and an LCD panel assembly, and a using method thereof. The packaging box includes a box body for containing an LCD panel assembly, and further includes a dismountable adjusting block which is used for covering a containing space for a FPC and a circuit board and positioning the side of the LCD panel; the adjusting block is arranged in the position inside the box body used for arranging the FPC and circuit board of the LCD panel assembly. The shared packaging box for an LCD panel and an LCD panel assembly of the invention can be used as a packaging box for an LCD panel when arranging the adjusting block, and can be used as a packaging box for an LCD panel assembly when removing the adjusting block; both positioning modes are reliable to achieve the aim of one object with dual purposes; thus, the number of packaging boxes is significantly reduced, and the packaging cost is reduced.

Abstract: An improved beverage container of the type having a lid, a pour panel defined in the lid by a pour score and a vent panel defined in the lid by a vent score. A tab pivotally is mounted to the lid, wherein lifting the tab about a pivot in a lifting direction fractures the pour score and opens the pour panel. A secondary tab is carried by the tab, and is released into contact with the vent panel by lifting the tab to fracture the pour score, wherein pressing the tab in a direction generally opposite the lifting direction causes the secondary tab to fracture the vent score and open the vent panel. At least one anti-rotation member is disposed between the tab and the lid to prevent the tab from rotating about the rivet.

Abstract: A flexible film package for storing food products comprises a body with a side wall, a closed bottom end, and a closed top end. The body includes a primary line of weakness and a pair of secondary lines of weakness formed in the side wall. Each of the primary and secondary lines of weakness includes a plurality of score lines spaced apart by non-scored portions of the side wall. The score lines of the primary line of weakness have a greater length, width, and depth than the score lines of the secondary lines of weakness. The non-scored portions between the score lines of the primary line of weakness are longer than the non-scored portions between the score lines of the secondary lines of weakness.

Abstract: A device for opening a piping bag for pre-filling comprises first and second gripping surfaces, adapted for clamping an openable end of the piping bag therebetween, wherein the gripping surfaces, while in clamping engagement with the piping bag, are movable relative to each other in a direction substantially parallel with said gripping surfaces. A method for opening a piping bag for prefilling is also disclosed.

Abstract: A capsule-treatment machine is arranged for separating a packaging of a capsule, in particular made of metal such as aluminum or plastic, from a capsule food or beverage ingredient contained therein. The machine includes a mechanism for opening the capsule packaging that is fed to the machine and for removing the capsule ingredient from the opened capsule packaging; a parting mechanism for parting the opened capsule packaging from the capsule ingredient; a collector for collecting the opened capsule packaging; and means a collector for collecting the capsule ingredient.

Abstract: A flexible food package comprises a bottom end, a top end, and a side wall incorporating a twistable portion having increased dead fold characteristics than adjacent portions of the side wall. The twistable portion has at least a first section and a second section each having a maximum width and joined by at least a third section having a minimum width less than the maximum width of each of the first and second sections. The third section is configured to permit the first and second sections to twist about the third section. The twistable portion is configured to twist together with adjacent portions of the side wall to restrict access to an access opening formed after opening of the top end. A method of manufacturing reclosable flexible packages including twistable portions is also provided.

Abstract: A carton for containing a plurality of articles arranged in at least a first layer and a second layer above the first layer. The carton comprises a plurality of panels that extends at least partially around an interior of the carton and an opening feature for accessing the articles in the carton. The opening feature extends in at least one panel of the plurality of panels. A tray is disposed at least partially in the interior of the carton. At least a portion of the tray can be positioned between the first layer and the second layer. The tray can be for supporting the articles in the second layer to allow removal of the articles in the second layer after activation of the opening feature of the carton.

Abstract: Decapping system for opening or closing reagent containers or cartridge systems closed by a lid which is removed and secured by a rotational movement and method thereof are disclosed. The decapping system has a centering unit at its lower end that provides a snap-in element which engages the lid, and a plurality of simultaneously driven and vertically movable screwing heads which compensates for variable heights and/or sizes of cartridge systems to be processed.

Abstract: A carton decasing system for removing stacks of cartons or carton blanks from cases or containers includes a case infeed conveyor on which the cases with the cartons or carton blanks stacked therein are moved to an inverting assembly. The inverting assembly reorients the cases and places the cases with the cartons stacked therein on a decasing assembly which removes the cases from the stacks of cartons. The stacks of cartons are thereafter conveyed along a magazine conveyor with the stacks of cartons supported by a stack pusher assembly as the cartons are moved to a discharge point at the distal end of the magazine conveyor.

Abstract: Certain embodiments of a trash can include a cap with a lid and an actuator. The actuator can extend outwardly from the cap at a downward angle. The actuator can be configured to maintain the lid in a closed position when a locking portion of the actuator is engaged with a securement portion of the lid. The lid can be rotationally biased toward an open position and the actuator can be configured to release the lid from the closed position upon an input of force on the actuator. The range of effective angles for the input force can enable a user of the trash can to easily open the lid by contacting the actuator with from a wide variety of angles.

Abstract: A food jar has an insulated body with a wide-mouth opening for receiving food. A collar is affixed to the opening of the food jar by affixing a throat member to the collar and threading the throat into the wide-mouth body. The throat member includes a gasket at the lower end to seal the throat to the body. A lid is affixed to the collar by a hinge. The lid includes a central projection that extends into sealing contact with the gasket on the throat member to seal the lid to the throat member. A button is mounted in a channel in the lid and biased by a spring to move into an engaging position to engage the collar at an opening in the collar to secure the lid to the collar. A wire loop is provided to engage the button in an embodiment.

Abstract: A package assembly (20) comprises products enclosed in a tubular packet (24) formed from a flexible wrapper (26). A line of weakness (40) encloses an opening region (42) in a side wall (28) of the packet. The, opening region (42) is at least partially removed to create a dispensing opening by tearing the wrapper along the line of weakness (40). In one embodiment, the packet is opened by pressing one of the products through the opening region. In another embodiment, a sticker (150, FIG. 3) is adhered to the opening portion to provide a tab (152, FIG. 3) which can be pulled to open the packet. In a further embodiment, the packet is enclosed in a stiff outer cover (260, FIG. 5). The cover has a reclosable flap (262) bonded to the opening region so that on first opening of the flap, the packet is torn along the line of weakness.

Abstract: A container apparatus and a method for using the container apparatus is disclosed. The disclosed apparatus can be implemented in a wide variety of ways, including but not limited to that of a food or beverage container. The method further includes securing a choker about a circumference transverse to the longitudinally compressed flexible duct and the flexible container to circumferentially compress a portion of the longitudinally compressed flexible duct at a position intermediate of the first end and the second end of the longitudinally compressed flexible duct.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for translating articles. The apparatus has a rectangular work area defined by the upper run of a positioning conveyor having an oblique-roller conveyor belt selectively driven forward or reverse in coordination with the actuation and deactuation of the obliquely rotatable belt rollers. Tools, such as cutting tools or inspection stools, along the sides of the work area interact with the sides of the articles as they are translated without rotation in a rectangular path against guide surfaces on the periphery of the work area by the sequential reversing of the conveyor belt direction and the actuation and deactuation of the article-supporting rollers.

Abstract: A bag storage apparatus is provided for storing collapsed plastic bags with handle loops and for holding one of the plastic bags in an open position to receive items placed therein. The apparatus includes a body defining a main storage cavity; a secondary panel forming a second rounded shape and attached to a front of the body to define a storage location for collapsed bags in front of the main storage cavity; upper top side edges of the body protruding upwardly and defining crevices adapted to positively engage and retain the loops when an associated one of the plastic bags is held in the open position in the main storage cavity; and the second panel having top and bottom openings for access to any bags stored inside the storage location.

Abstract: Embodiments provide packaging systems and methods that may be easy to open, have a measure of theft deterrence, may be manufactured from a minimum number of materials, and/or are relatively easy to recycle. One packaging/display system includes multiple package elements in an upright orientation between side walls of a support tray, without edges of the package elements extending into the side walls for support. In some cases a support tray includes multiple support tabs located along at least one side wall to engage a front and/or back surface of a package element in a supporting configuration. Support tabs may optionally be spaced along side wall inner surfaces in an alternating configuration. An optional removable cover may be configured to fit about package elements within a support tray to provide an integrated packaging assembly for transport. Methods for packing and displaying products are also provided.

Abstract: A closure is provided for a container having a body defining an opening and a chime around the opening extending radially outward from the container body. The closure includes a top panel having a periphery and a continuous circumferential skirt extending from the periphery and configured to define a gap between the skirt and the chime. The closure further includes a pair of latch elements defined in diametrically opposite portions of the skirt, each latch element including a lug projecting radially inward from the skirt to engage the under surface of the chime. The skirt is continuous across the pair of latch elements and is flexible so that pulling one of the portions of the skirt away from the container disengages the lug from the under surface of the chime and generate a hoop tension that reduces the gap at portions of the skirt adjacent the other latch element.

Abstract: An integrated canning jar lid configured to cover a mouth of a canning jar includes a closure portion, a top portion, and a skirt. The closure portion, top portion, and skirt may be integrated into a single device. The size and shape of the skirt may enhance the aesthetic appeal of the integrated lid as well as the convenience and ease of use. Embodiments of the integrated canning jar lid have a decorative element on the top thereof to further increase the aesthetic value of the lid and/or increase the convenience and ease of use.

Abstract: A liner (22) for a shipping container is disclosed which includes a roof panel (28), an end panel (30) and side wall panels (26). Cords (24) are attached to the liner in the viscinity of the end wall panel (30) and extend through loops along the top edges of the wall panels (26). Hooks, carried by the parts of the cords (24) between the loops, are provided for attaching the cords to sets of lashing points of the shipping container. The cords can be anchored and then tensioned, in a temporary manner, to pull the top edges of the side wall panels (26) towards the lashing points to facilitate cargo loading. When the cords (24) are permitted to become slack, the roof panel (28) drops down onto the loaded cargo.

The carton comprises a plurality of panels extending at least partially around an interior of the carton and a dispenser comprising a dispenser panel. The dispenser panel is at least partially defined by a tear line extending in at least one panel of the plurality of panels. The dispenser panel can be at least partially removable from the carton to create a dispenser opening. The carton also can comprise a handle for grasping and carrying the carton. The handle comprises a handle feature extending in at least the dispenser panel, and at least a portion of the handle can be removable from the carton with the dispenser panel.

The container has the strength to hold up to one hundred and fifty pounds of contents while being stacked up to eight high. The container may be loaded in a flattened configuration and then erected to enclose the contents. The container is also collapsible for ease of storage and transport. An imperforate tear line is provided along a linear path traversing each of the objects in each column so that one or more objects can be freed with one pull along the tear line. Preferably, the imperforate tear line is formed by orienting the plastic material and/or forming shallow grooves or score lines in the film sheet. Both sheets can be made of plastic film, and both can have imperforate tear lines. The tear lines preferably are positioned so that only a small portion of the tablet is exposed by the tear [so that the tablet will tend to be retained in the receptacle until it is deliberately removed].

The closure also includes frangible links coupled to the body and cap that break in response to first-time movement of the cap from the closed position to the opened position to alert an observer that the cap has been opened once before.

Abstract: A module feeder system is disclosed. The module feeder system comprises a module feeder which has an unload bed, a feeder bed, a first side wall and a second side wall. A cutting device is attached to the feeder bed. At least one hydraulic cylinder is positioned on each of the first and second side walls. Each hydraulic cylinder is configured to project in a direction away from the sidewalls and over the feeder bed. A method used to unwrap a cotton module is also disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for configuring product packaging and removal of the packaging from a product is disclosed. The labeled product packaging includes a shrink wrap packaging adapted for sealing around a product. A predefined point of failure is configured in the packaging and includes a failure mode for when pulled in at least one direction. A label is sealed to the packaging and adhered to the predefined point of failure in covering relation over the predefined point of failure. Lifting the label from the packaging tears open the packaging starting at the predefined point of failure so the product can be removed from the packaging.

Abstract: An individually packaged absorbent article assembly including a tri-folded absorbent article having two end portions and an intermediate portion, and a pouch containing the tri-folded absorbent article, the pouch being structured and arranged to enable a user to selectively open the pouch to thereby expose a garment-facing surface of the intermediate portion of the absorbent article prior to exposing a garment-facing surface of either of the end portions of the absorbent article.

Abstract: An unpacking device unpacks a package and takes out contents. The package includes a primary package formed by packing the contents with a primary packing material and a secondary package formed by packing the primary package with a secondary packing material. The secondary packing material of the secondary package has an incision. The unpacking device includes a robot, and a control unit for controlling the robot such that the robot takes out the primary package through the incision of the secondary packing material and then takes out the contents from the primary package.

Abstract: A beverage can end for seaming onto a can body may include a peripheral wall, a center panel, a tab attached to the center panel by a rivet (56), a tear panel (41b), a main reference line (RM), a transverse reference line (RT), and a score (31b). The score may include arcuate main score (31b) that defines a main portion of the tear panel (41b) and a score extension (32b) that defines a vent portion. The score may be configured such that actuation of the tab from its horizontal rest position to an intermediate position ruptures the main score portion (31b) to pivot the tear panel main portion (40b) about the hinge and further actuation of the tab by twisting from the intermediate position ruptures the score extension (32b).

Abstract: A package and method for opening the package are disclosed. The package includes a first film (11) and a second film (12) forming an enclosure and at least one tab area (16) and defining a package periphery (18), the enclosure defining an interior volume configured to receive a product. The package further includes first and second breachable bubbles (20, 22) formed within first and second tab portions (24, 26) of the at least one tab area (16). Upon application of pressure by a user, the first and second breachable bubbles (20, 22) breach. The package may be alternated between a first position, wherein the first tab portion (24) and the second tab portion (26) are substantially sealed from each other to facilitate breaching, and a second position, wherein the first tab portion (24) and the second tab portion (26) are in fluid communication with each other.

Abstract: A metallic container end closure is provided that generally comprises a dispensing opening and a vent opening. The vent opening improves pourability through the dispensing opening and provides an alternative option for consuming the contents of the container. The end closure may include features to ease opening of the vent opening, such as stiffeners and/or vent form features. Additionally, the end closure may include various safety features, such as a safety fold. In some configurations, the container end closure does not include a pull tab for opening.

Abstract: A plastic bag for retaining a food product is formed of first and second plastic sheets sealed along the bottom and sides. The bag has an exterior increased friction surface section proximate the mouth. The bag is used in combination with a glove having an exterior increased friction surface portion. The exterior increased friction portion of the glove engages the increased friction section of the bag to facilitate opening of the mouth of the bag. Preferably, aligned increased friction sections are formed on the exterior surface of opposite sides of the bag and the glove has exterior increased friction portions on the tips of the finger stalls. When the bag is held between the thumb and index finger of the glove user, movement of the thumb and index finger of the glove in opposite directions facilitates opening of the bag.

Abstract: A method of retaining a longitudinally compressed flexible duct, the method includes removing at least one retaining strap from extending longitudinally about a flexible container retaining a longitudinally compressed flexible duct having a first end and a second end within the flexible container, the retaining strap extending about a first end and a second end of the flexible container. Abstract: A product package system is provided comprising a blister pack having a cavity and an overwrap. The system enables a product to be packaged and easily removed by opening the overwrap. The overwrap can include tear strips to facilitate easy opening. The blister pack can embody a clamshell pack having a living hinge.

Abstract: A shipping container convertible to a display configuration has a removable cover base removable along perforated lines of weakness to form a display opening. Packages of product in the carton are supported in a horizontal orientation during shipping and in an upright orientation when the removable cover base is removed for display of the products at a point of sale. Roll-over flaps on one wall at the bottom of the display opening capture tuck flaps on opposite side walls, and full overlapping top flaps folded inwardly from opposite side walls close the display opening during shipment. An outer top flap has an end extending over the roll-over flaps, and the end is free of attachment to the roll-over flaps. The top flaps are removed with the removable cover base. In one embodiment a flange extends inwardly over an edge of the display opening to keep packages from falling out.

Abstract: An apparatus for unfolding folded plastic film having a first side joined to a second side along a longitudinal folded edge for use in forming a packaging tube. The folded film travels through a slot and the folded sides are separated at their respective outer longitudinal edges. The longitudinal left side is conveyed toward and over a guide plate left side edge and then over a left form tube section. The longitudinal right side is conveyed toward and over a guide plate right side edge and then over a right form tube section. The longitudinal middle section including the longitudinal folded edge and part of both the first and second sides adjacent the longitudinal folded edge is conveyed toward and over guide plate angular edges and then onto a carrying surface.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for improved straw access to the interior of a pouch formed from a multi-ply laminate includes a laser-treated area that has improved characteristics for enabling a straw to pass through the multi-ply laminate to access the interior of the pouch. The laser treated area is more crystalline than adjacent areas of the multi-ply laminate that causes the multi-ply laminate to fracture. One such multi-ply laminate includes a sealant layer, a foil layer, and a PET layer.

Abstract: A locking means for a cap resistant to impact forces and providing a leak-tight fitting to a container whilst allowing simple and quick release.

Abstract: A drink can having both drinking and venting openings is provided. The two openings are positioned a distance from one another with respect to a central portion of a top end of a drink can. A single tab is attached to the central portion of the top end, and can be pulled upward to open the drink opening, then pushed downward to open the vent opening. To aid in opening the vent opening with the single tab, the venting portion is provided with a protrusion comprising opposed sloping sides to focus the force when the tab is pushed downward on a score line that defines the vent opening. Advantageously, the tab may be larger than the vent opening so that, upon breakage of the vent opening score line, the tab contacts the top end of the can, thereby preventing the user's finger from proceeding into sharp portions of the vent opening.

Abstract: An apparatus for inserting one or more goods into a moving cover includes a cover transport, and at least one separating device configured to engage with a first part of the cover and to maintain the first part of the cover separate from a second part of the cover during at least a part of the movement of the cover.

Abstract: A bottle with an integrated cap remover allows a user to remove a twist-off bottle cap without the need for a separate bottle opener. The bottle includes a bottle cap, a bottle opening, a neck, a side wall, and a bottom surface. The bottom surface includes an indent that has a plurality of indent ridges. The bottle cap has a plurality of cap ridges. The bottle cap of a second bottle can be pressed into the primary indent of a first bottle. Twisting the first bottle will cause the indent ridges of the first bottle to engage against the cap ridges of the second bottle. The bottle cap of the second bottle will then be loosened, allowing a user to easily remove the bottle cap.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system for opening a medical blister package which is easy and convenient to open for people of all level of ability and dexterity. Its design allows for selective access to the blisters by following a predetermined opening sequence, therefore minimizing involuntary wrong up taking of medicine due to patient errors as wrong sequential opening is not achievable by involuntary mistakes.
