Abstract: Air cleaner assemblies, components, and features are described. The features can be used to provide that the air cleaner assembly cannot be fully closed, even if a cartridge is nested therein, and appears to be sealed, unless that cartridge is a proper one for the system of concern. The effect is to prevent an inappropriate cartridge, that does not properly seal, from being inadvertently installed in the assembly.

Abstract: The indoor unit of a mini-split heat pump has an auxiliary filter mounted atop the air inlet opening of the indoor unit. The auxiliary filter comprising three parallel filtering stages and each of these filtering stages having an air flow capacity equivalent to a nominal air flow rating of the indoor unit. The three filtering stages improve low-air-quality tolerance of a residential indoor unit of a mini-split heat pump, so that commercial and industrial users can also benefit from these high efficiency heat pumps to reduce their carbon footprint.

Abstract: A low-profile filter frame is disclosed for maintaining an open filter plenum configuration during normal operation, and for enabling quick and reliable negative pressure testing. The frame has upper and lower halves. A breathing tube in the lower half connects to a respirator port. The upper and lower halves snap together to maintain the structure in an assembled configuration. The halves also include features that bias the halves apart when the device is in the assembled configuration, thereby maintaining the breathing tube open. To perform a fit test, a force is applied to an outer surface of the upper half, which moves the halves together, in opposition to the bias, so that the upper half seals against the breathing tube. The frame can be provide in as a single-piece, with a living hinge connecting upper and lower halves, or the upper and lower halves can be separate pieces.

Some methods described herein pressing together a first end plate, one or more intermediate plates, and a second end plate using a press to form a hydrogen purifier module, and placing a plurality of clips around the hydrogen purifier module to hold the first end plate, the one or more intermediate plates, and the second end plate together.

Abstract: A method of producing a filter unit, such as an air/oil separator, having a tubular filter element bonded at one end to an end cap, is proposed. The method includes the steps of: providing a tubular filter element and an end cap; melting a portion of the end cap; and embedding an end of the filter element into the melted portion of the end cap. The melted portion, on cooling, solidifies to bond the tubular filter element to the end cap. The end cap can be formed of thermoplastic containing an electrically conductive filler. The end cap can be formed of a thermoplastic having a melting point of at least 180 C. The method may further include, after the embedding step, a step of forcing melted thermoplastic from the melted portion radially against a side wall of the tubular filter element.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a sealing device 20 for a control rod 17, passing through an aperture 15c in a wall 15, wherein the control rod 17 is connected between an actuator 13, placed on one side of the wall, and a controlled entity 9a, placed on the other side of the wall, such that the actuator can control the controlled entity with motion of the control rod. The sealing device 20 includes a packing box 37 through which the control rod 17 passes and a seal 41 which provides a sealing function between the control rod 17 and the packing box 37. The packing box 37 is moveable with the control rod 17 in relation to the wall 15. Wall aperture 15c is sized to allow movement of the control rod 17 within aperture 15c. A flexible member 39 surrounds a portion of control rod 17 and extends between the packing box 37 and the wall 15, in a gastight communication with each. As such, the subject sealing device allows movement of the control rod without compromising the sealing function efficiency thereof.
