  • Patent number: 7201845
Abstract: A system for moving a filter or a retainer into or out of a fluid pathway without halting the movement of the fluid in the pathway. When acting as a filtering device, the system includes a filter frame and a drive mechanism for slidingly moving the filter frame on stationary rails that remain in the duct through which the fluid is transferred. When a retainer device, the system includes a retainer and a drive mechanism for slidingly moving retainer on stationary rails that remain in the chamber through which a fluid under treatment passes. The system includes isolation means permitting the filter frame or retainer to pass into or out of the duct or chamber without exhausting the fluid within the duct or chamber. The drive mechanism may be a guillotine damper gate drive, a spindled drive, a hydraulic actuator or other drive means. The filter or the retainer may include a plurality of bays that are rigidly, hingedly, or detachably connected together.

Abstract: A filter retaining system formed from multiple filter retaining frames is disclosed. Each of the frames is formed from either a female type extrusion or a combination of male and female type extrusions. Specifically, each frame has either a tongue or a groove which is engageable into a corresponding groove or tongue of an adjacent frame. The tongue and groove engagement provides added rigidity to the retaining system, as well as preventing air from bypassing the filters retained within each frame.

Abstract: Disclosed is a gas compressor capable of preventing deformation of a filter used for separating oil contained in a compressed gas. The gas compressor includes a suction port, a suction chamber, a gas compressing portion, a compressed gas releasing portion provided in the gas compressing portion, a discharge chamber, and a discharge port. Provided in the discharge chamber is a filter for separating oil contained in the compressed gas. The filter is configured such that the outer peripheral portion of the filter is expanded peripherally upon its deformation caused when the force (dynamic pressure) of a jet stream formed by the flow of the compressed gas released from the compressed gas releasing portion and the force (static pressure) due to a difference in pressure between front and rear sides of the filter which is generated by the flow path resistance in the filter are applied to the filter whereby the force with which the filter is held in close contact with the filter installation portion is increased.

It also has an edge defining a main opening to the interior for receiving the filter. At least one strap is provided for the wrap with one end attached to the sheet. The strap has another accessible distal end. Pulling on the strap(s) everts the sheet as it is pulled off of the filter. This results in trapping debris residing on the exterior of the sheet within the sheet once it is everted during removal of the wrap from the filter. Installation and removal can be performed while the protected equipment remains in operation.

Abstract: Embodiments of a key system for filters and their connecting heads/holders are shown. The filter cartridge and its holder each have a keyed surface, one being a protruding “key” and one being a recessed “lock”. Cooperation of these keyed surfaces is required in order for the filter cartridge to be installed in the holder, so that mismatched cartridges cannot be installed into the holder, for example, to prevent a particular type of cartridge from being placed in a filtration or other process where it would be inappropriate, or undesired. The keyed surfaces are selectively locate-able preferably at different circumferential locations on a perimeter of the filter and a corresponding location on a perimeter of the head/holder. The perimeter may be, for example, on an outer shoulder surface of a filter and an inner surface of a valve head, or on outer and inner surfaces of connectors that provide a liquid seal between the filter and the head/holder.

  • Patent number: 6953124
Abstract: A filter element for end face inlet formed of triangular channels which are alternately closed such that the fluid to be filtered must pass through the filter material in order to flow from the inlet side (22) to the discharge side (23). The channels are formed by alternating flat layers (17) and folded layers (18), whereby all sides of the inlet channels face a discharge channel. A particularly high filter efficiency is thereby achieved such that a large filter surface area and a high filter capacity are attained with a relatively small structural volume. The filter can be used, for example, as an air filter for various air filtration applications.
