A housing may also be provided including a channel also dimensioned to accommodate the guidewire, and may further include the frictional member(s) for facilitating movement of the guidewire. The channel and lumen are aligned to permit placement of the guidewire at the target site.

  • Patent number: 9987477
Abstract: An intravenous injection site having a split septum assembly interfit with the site for the intravenous administration of fluids to a patient. The split septum assembly has a resilient and compressible split septum having an axially-formed slit for receipt of a blunt cannula, needle, or other medical device through said slit, a septum holder for receipt of the split septum, and a septum housing for receipt of the combined septum holder and split septum. The septum includes a body and a flange extending radially from the body. A projection extends from the flange. The septum is mounted within the septum holder, and the septum holder is mounted within the septum housing to provide axial compression of the flange. This axial compression presents a double hermetic seal that significantly minimizes or prevents proximal leakage of fluid through the slit or around the septum holder when the cannula is removed.

  • Patent number: 9808629
Abstract: A delivery system assembly includes an outer tube, an inner member, extending within a lumen of the outer tube, and a deflectable shaft, extending within the outer tube lumen and around the inner member; the tube and inner member are longitudinally moveable with respect to the shaft, and a distal end of the inner member is located distal to the shaft within the tube lumen. A medical device can be loaded into the tube lumen, along a distal-most portion of the tube, and contained between the inner member and a distal opening of the tube lumen. Deflecting the shaft orients the distal-most portion for navigation of the assembly, and, when the distal end of the inner member is engaged within the tube lumen, distal movement of the tube, with respect to the shaft, causes similar distal movement of the inner member and the loaded medical device toward an implant site.

Abstract: Disclosed is an inflation valve enabling a user to quickly inflate and deflate an inflatable object. The inflation valve can include an inflation chamber that is an adequate size to capture a breath of air blown by a user from a distance away from an outside opening of the inflation chamber. This allows surrounding air into the area of low pressure created by the moving air, thereby greatly increasing the amount of air entering the inflatable object. To prevent air from escaping the inflatable object, the inflation valve can include a non-invertible one-way valve and/or an invertible one-way valve. Each valve can prevent air from escaping the inflation chamber until adequate pressure is applied from the outside opening of the inflation chamber, for example, as a result of a user blowing air into the inflation chamber. The invertible one-way valve can be inverted to reverse the properties of the valve.

A retractable post extends through the fluid path in the male luer sealing a tip of the male luer thereby closing the fluid path when the connector in not activated. There is a seal between the retractable post and the body that forms a fluid volume within a portion of the cavity. The fluid path passes through the fluid volume. When actuated, the retractable post is forced away from the tip of the male luer, thereby opening the fluid path through the medical connector and decreasing the fluid volume.
