Patent number: 4872463Abstract: The primary objective of the invention is to facilitate the application of a condom without entraining air into it, by making use of the arrangements and instrumentalities shown in the accompanying drawing as a preferred embodiment of the present invention and not as limitative thereto. In the preferred embodiment, the pocket at the tip of the condom from which air is forced out as by twisting is held in a slit cut in the center of a rectangular strip applied on the condom from one side of its base along the length to the tip and then back along to the other side of the base, and which is provided with pull tabs extended laterally from the center of said strip where the slit is out. Both ends of the strip are rolled in together with the base hem ring of the condom to form a tucked-up disk. To apply the condom to the penis, it is only required to pull the pull tabs backward along the penis to unroll the condom sheath over it while keeping the center of said tucked-up disk in close contact with the glans.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1987Date of Patent: October 10, 1989Assignee: K.K. Patent number: 4869269Abstract: A new and useful contraceptive-prophylactic condom is provided which, by means of a novel configuration and a medical grade adhesive, forms a leak-free seal with the tip (glans section) of the male sex organ. This invention eliminates the need for the roll-down hood present in a conventional contraceptive-prophylactic devices, providing increased user pleasure and reduced risk of unwanted pregnancy and venereal disease. Because the roll-down hood is eliminated, the breakage problem associated with conventional condoms can also be substantially solved without sacrificing user pleasure by manufacturing the condom of the invention from a thicker material.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1988Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Inventor: Arnold L. Patent number: 4573985Abstract: The elastic sheath of a urinary collection device is more securely retained in place upon the penis of an incontinent patient by modifying the patient's penis by making an incision in the penis, implanting penile implants having expansible chambers and a self sealing tip in the corpora cavernosa of the penis, closing the incision and then periodically filling the chambers with fluid introduced through a cannula extending through the glans of the penis and the self sealing tip. The periodic addition of fluid to the chambers causes them to gradually expand and stretch the penile tissue until the penis is larger and firmer and will more securely retain the elastic sheath of the collection device. The implants are especially useful for patients having spinal cord injuries because the implants are soft and not rigid even when filled and therefore they are less likely to erode through the skin of the penis or the urethra.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1984Date of Patent: March 4, 1986Assignee: Medical Engineering Corp.Inventor: Roy P. Patent number: 4564006Abstract: A condom comprises an elongated generally tubular member of thin, flexible material and having an elongated opening provided along at least a substantial portion of the length of the elongated tubular member so as to facilitate placing the elongated tubular member over a flaccid penis. The elongated tubular member may contain a plurality of compartments, each of which contains rheopexic material so that the condom stiffens in use. A slide fastener closure device is provided for closing the elongated opening after placing the condom on a flaccid penis. Further disclosed is an elongated generally tubular member containing rheopexic material for use as an implanted penile prosthesis which stiffens upon agitation.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 1984Date of Patent: January 14, 1986Inventor: Mark L.
