Abstract: The subject matter of the present invention is a multichamber container and a method for preparing medical fluids composed of concentrates which make a contribution toward the electrical conductivity of the solution and are additionally prepared from concentrates which do not make a contribution toward the electrical conductivity of the solution. The inventive multichamber container is characterized in that it is constructed by dividing the solution components into multiple chambers, so that following the dissolving due to breaking open of the first chamber border of a solution component, which makes a contribution toward the electrical conductivity of the medicinal solution, another chamber border of another solution component which does not make any contribution toward the electrical conductivity of the solution is broken open.

Abstract: A package assembly for a drug reconstitution assembly includes a body, a drug reconstitution assembly and a removable lid. The body includes a plurality of protrusions configured to mate with a plurality of corresponding features of the drug reconstitution assembly to inhibit axial and rotational translation of the drug reconstitution assembly and its constituent parts during shipping and handling. By preventing axial and rotational shifting during shipment, premature and accidental puncture or contamination of the medication or the spikes within the drug reconstitution assembly is minimized.

  • Patent number: 8286671
Abstract: The disclosure pertains to an automated apparatus for filling capped needle syringes. The syringes are held in a rotatable motor controlled carousel. The carousel turns to place a syringe proximate to a dispenser mechanism. A rotatable plate on top of the dispenser mechanism holds an automated cap extractor/installer and at least one inverted vial having a needle perforatable surface. The rotatable plate can also move up and down relative to the top of the dispenser mechanism. The cap can be removed by the automated cap extractor/installer and the rotatable plate rotated to place the inverted vial over the exposed syringe needle. The rotatable plate can descend so that the needle perforates the surface of the vial. A syringe plunger tool of the dispenser mechanism engages the syringe plunger and pulls it downward. The syringe plunger tool can disengage and return to its original position. The rotatable plate can raise to remove the needle from the vial.

Abstract: A female piercing member protection device for connection with a male connection part, and a method for connecting the device to a male connection part. The device includes an outer casing and a connection member at least partly enclosed in the outer casing. The outer casing is moveable between first and second positions. In the first position, the connection member is substantially locked from movement along the longitudinal axis A, and in the second position the connection member is able to move along the longitudinal axis A. The device also has an activated position and an inactivated position. When the outer casing is in the second position, a deformable locking device is prevented from deformation by the outer casing to prevent disengagement of the male connection part. A secure piercing member protection device significantly minimizes the risk for a user to be exposed to contaminants and the piercing member itself.

Abstract: A liquid testing assembly for testing a liquid, the assembly comprising a test vessel and a stopper adapted to fit into a free end of the vessel. The stopper substantially hermetically seals the test vessel from the ambient. Further, the assembly includes a support coated with one or more identifying materials for identifying one or more constituents of the liquid. The support is fixed in the stopper and/or the vessel and extends into its interior for a predetermined distance. The liquid testing assembly when assembled is pre-evacuated to a predetermined vacuum sufficient to draw a predetermined volume of liquid to be sampled into the test vessel. The predetermined volume is of such an amount that it wets the one or more identifying materials ensuring identification of one or more constituents present in the liquid. A kit employing the liquid testing assembly is also discussed.
