Simultaneous Control Of Multiple Butt Levels Patents (Class 66/222)
  • Patent number: 7836730
Abstract: A jacquard needle equipped with a return structure is installed in a circular knitting machine which has a computer needle selected device including plural jacquard needles and plural needle selected sheets on an upper needle dial. Each jacquard needle is driven by a cam to move a knitting needle. The needle selected sheet depresses the jacquard needle to escape from the cam. The jacquard needle includes a fulcrum, a neck, a force received section, a needle foot and a return structure. The fulcrum is connected with the knitting needle. The needle foot is located in a slide track of the cam. The return structure has a bend end at a distal end beneath the needle foot. The bend end butts an inner wall of the upper needle dial. The force received section transmits the depressing force to bend the return structure to generate a returning elasticity.

  • Patent number: 4471636
Abstract: For needle selection in a circular knitting machine, a device is disclosed which comprises a plurality of superimposed selecting levers, individually pivoted to a common structure and selectively movable between a position where they do not interfere with the pattern jack butts and a position where they interfere therewith, to urge them toward the needle cylinder. The selective movement is accomplished by means of electromagnets, one for each selecting lever, which are energized in accordance with the machine knitting program and move intermediate, preferably rod-like, drive elements the axial displacement whereof results in a pivotal movement of the respective selecting levers between the cited positions. The engagement of the intermediate elements with the selecting levers is accomplished through geometrical coupling. A minimal force is sufficient for the actuation, so that the size of the electromagnets can be minimized, while a prompt response is ensured.

  • Patent number: 4236389
Abstract: In a circular knitting machine having needle and/or jack butts at different levels, control cams for the butts are selectively movable radially of the needle cylinder, and angularly. Radial movement of the control cams causes the cams to act selectively on all of the butts, on only the upper butts, or on none of the butts, and angular movement of the control cams causes the control cams to effect, selectively, raising of the butts, partial raising of the butts, or raising of none of the butts.

  • Patent number: 4221120
Abstract: This multiple needle cylinder hosiery knitting machine is provided with a single horizontally disposed pattern disc surrounding the needle cylinders and controlling the simultaneous knitting of a sock on each of the needle cylinders. All of the instrumentalities used in knitting a sock at each needle cylinder, such as the yarn feed fingers, yarn cutters, the needle selecting devices, etc., are controlled by cams on the pattern disc. Drive means is provided for imparting step-by-step movement to the single pattern disc and a pattern chain controls movement of the pattern disc. Easy access is provided to the pattern disc and to each of the needle cylinders for changing patterns, cleaning and lubricating, for replacing parts, and for making other adjustments and repairs to the machine.

  • Patent number: 4201067
Abstract: A circular knitting machine having tiltable pattern jacks, intermediate jacks thereon and needles over the intermediate jacks, the pattern jacks having lower butts for being raised and lowered by substantially triangular cams rigid with a cam ring. The lowering portion of the cams has a curvilinear portion joining the lowering portion and having a radius of curvature which is smaller than the ideal radius of connection between the lowering portion and the horizontal portion of the cam ring between the cams. The curvilinear portion remains at a distance from a base plane of the cam ring substantially corresponding to the distance between the lower face of the lower butt of the pattern jacks and the lower face of the pattern jacks. The curvilinear portion is followed by a further descending portion.

  • Patent number: 4138865
Abstract: A circular knitting machine has a needle selection system which can be set up to provide selection under electronic control, or to provide for manual selection. The selection system has a plurality of slidable selection cams which are controlled by an electro-magnetic system to act on rocking selector jacks, the electro-magnetic system being operated by an electronic control program. For manual selection, the electro-magnetic system serves to hold all of the selection cams in an excluded position and selection is obtained by manually insertable cams which act on the selector jacks.
