Abstract: A knitting machine may include a sinker configured to move between an open position and a closed position. The knitting machine may have a sinker actuator system having a first configuration and a second configuration. The sinker actuator system, in the first configuration, may be configured to actuate the sinker from the open position toward the closed position. The sinker may be configured to change the sinker actuator system from the first configuration to the second configuration when the sinker receives an input force above a predetermined threshold in the movement from the open position toward the closed position. The sinker actuator system, in the second configuration, may allow the sinker to move away from the closed position toward the open position.

Abstract: A circular knitting machine having knitting needles actuated by pattern bars, electromagnetic selectors for adjusting the knitting needles into various operating positions, mechanical controls cooperating with the electromagnetic selectors, selector elements biased by springs and slidingly displaceable in the pattern bars as well as first and second control cams for pivoting the pattern bars. Only one single, spring-biased selector element is mounted for displacement in each pattern bar. The electromagnetic selectors have individually controllable magnetic poles which are arranged one behind the other in the direction of rotation of the needle cylinder.

Abstract: A restoring device for a needle selecting apparatus of a circular knitting machine has a housing mounted on the needle selecting apparatus, and a slider located in the housing for each set of selecting plates of the selecting apparatus. Each slider is displaceable in a direction of displacement of the selecting plates and is provided with a pressing surface and a withdrawal surface. The pressing and withdrawal surfaces of each slider act on all selecting plates of a respective set to displace the selecting plates to their operating and rest positions, respectively.

Abstract: A circular knitting machine includes needles and loop-sinking sinkers longitudinally movable relative to each other in opposite directions. Each needle is provided with a non-movable slide. The movements of the needles and the sinkers are controlled by cams. Each slide has a tip. The control cam for the needle head and the control cam for the sinker and the height of the needle slide tip are selected so that the tips of the needle slides lie in the region which extends between the point of crossing of said control cams and the maximal vertical level of the knockover edge of the sinker.

Abstract: A needle selector device for a multi yarn feed knitting machine comprises a stack of angularly movable sliders mounted about a common axis, the sliders being selectively movable between three positions, namely the knitting, tucking and floating positions. The sliders define cams which depending on the selected position of the slider can engage steering butts on a pivotable pattern bar connected through a swivel bar to a knitting needle.

Abstract: A circular knitting machine has a needle selection system which can be set up to provide selection under electronic control, or to provide for manual selection. The selection system has a plurality of slidable selection cams which are controlled by an electro-magnetic system to act on rocking selector jacks, the electro-magnetic system being operated by an electronic control program. For manual selection, the electro-magnetic system serves to hold all of the selection cams in an excluded position and selection is obtained by manually insertable cams which act on the selector jacks.
