The auto emergency tool includes a main portion and a projecting portion extending from a joining portion and being integral with the main portion, and defining a seat belt-receiving notch therebetween. A knife blade extends across the notch proximate the joining portion. An inner main portion-facing upper surface of the projecting portion is configured to facilitate the movement of the tool towards and through a seat belt, and the bottom outer surface of the projecting portion is curved for both easy handling and for enabling a firm grip when the tool is used to break window glass. The window-breaking mechanism includes a depressible plunger cover for releasing a spring-loaded impact member.

Abstract: The utility knife blade is a blade for a utility knife having a slot formed in the blade that is especially useful when scoring drywall. The slot may engage a tape measure adjacent the tape hook so that the cutting edge at the scoring tip of the blade extends below the tape measure hook to engage the sheet of drywall. The slot extends through the cutting edge into the body of the blade at a slight angle relative to normal, preferably about 10°. A combination level and rasp tool includes an elongate frame having at least one level mounted thereto, a pair of spaced elongate hand hold apertures formed therein, and an elongate saw tooth rasp blade removably mounted to the frame and angularly disposed relation therewith. The upper portion of the frame preferably defines an angularly disposed elongate slot for receiving the rasp blade and suitable fasteners are provided for securely affixing the rasp blade. The rasp blade is configured to project angularly upward for ease of use.

Abstract: An apparatus that combines a wristwatch with a survival kit includes a wafer component moveably connected to a watch, wherein the wafer further comprises a mirrored surface, a compass and a perimetric cutting edge. The wafer is rotatably attached to the wristwatch to allow movement of the wafer between a closed position and an open position wherein a user may view the compass, provide signaling using the mirror or utilize the cutting tool provided thereon. The wafer is also detachable from the wristwatch to allow the wafer to be utilized in a standalone mode.

Abstract: An apparatus for preparing material pieces to be sewn together includes a planer structure including a top surface, a bottom surface, a first end and a first and second edge. The first edge includes a first lip extending a first distance below the bottom surface where an edge of the material aligns with and touches the first lip and the material can be marked along the second edge. The second edge further includes a second lip extending the first distance below the bottom surface for holding the material to a flat surface. The first end is broadened and includes a third edge at an acute angle to the second edge. The third edge includes a third lip extending the first distance below the bottom surface where the material having the acute angle aligns with and touches the third lip and the dog ear of the material can be trimmed.

Abstract: A strip length scale for a wire stripper has a receiving portion, a channel aligned with the receiving portion and gradation markings along the length of the channel. Numerical markings next to the gradation marking correspond with the length of the channel. The channel receives the bare conductor portion of a stripped insulated wire. The receiving portion of the strip length scale receives the insulated wire portion of the stripped insulated wire. An abutment at the junction of the channel and receiving portion locates the end of the insulation accurately.

A base plate has a through slot that receives a blade of a conventional utility knife and a free end right angle metal end clip of conventional tape ruler and a blind slot that receives the conventional tape ruler. A clamping plate is displaceably attached to the base plate and clamps the conventional tape ruler between itself and the base plate. The clamping plate has a center portion that is circular-shaped and a portion that has a concave upper surface and a convex lower surface that clamps the conventional tape ruler in the concave blind slot in the base plate.

A plastic cap is connected to proximal ends of the shells. A measuring tape has a housing and an extendable and retractable body housed therein that has a rigid stop member coupled thereto. The stop member is vertically interfitted into the opening and remains spaced from the storage chamber so the user can maintain a continuous line of sight into the storage chamber while the body is engaged with the opening. The measuring tape and the cutting tool travel in sync during cutting procedures.

The cue tip shaper comprises a planar base, and an arrangement of articulable guides for receiving and aligning a cue stick tip with a tip shaping scuff member. The cue stick is received between the guides and pressable against the scuff member. The tip is typically leather. A scuff surface is arranged on the scuff member secured in the planar base, and is in alignment with the movable guides.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a method and an apparatus for cutting material, such as paper and/or fabric, while simultaneously marking the material with a decorative border. The present invention utilizes an air pump and replaceable coloring means source affixed on a cutting apparatus, such as scissors, having an air pump and replaceable coloring dispenser along the blade(s) of the scissors. The pumping mechanism utilizes check valves to regulate the flow of air through the system. In another embodiment, a colorant may be used along the blade of the scissors wherein each cut leaves a decorative border along the cut area of the material.

Abstract: An improved cable preparation tool and an accompanying method which, when utilized concurrently, prepare fully shielded cables for termination into connecting devices. A preferred embodiment of the tool has hinged first and second tool handles biased together about a hinge by a resilient member. One end of a tool handle is fitted with a receptacle to receive and mount a detachable blade cartridge assembly which cuts the cable jacket and shielding metallic foils wrapped around individual pairs of insulated wires. A second receptacle is provided in either tool handle to receive a detachable template cartridge assembly which is used to properly position wires for termination into a connector. An exemplary method of cable preparation using the tool includes removing a cutting a cable jacket, cutting a plurality of foils and aligning wires using a single cable preparation tool.

Abstract: A hand-held tool useful for a decorator, particularly while wallpapering, comprises a substantially flat body (1) having several retaining means (2, 20, 4, 6) formed in it for holding implements such as a pencil (P), knife (K) and spirit levels (S1, S2). A pair of spirit levels (S1, S2) are retained in retaining means (2, 20) at right angles to one another to enable horizontal and vertical lines to be found. Knife (K) is retained in a groove (6) with its blade shielded to prevent it from accidentally injuring a person. The tool has a flexible edge area (12) which tapers to a straight, ruled edge (12b). This area (12) is useful for pressing pasted paper onto a wall and for removing air-bubbles. Edge (12b), which is parallel to one spirit level (S1) and perpendicular to the other (S2), facilitates the measuring of distances between widths of wallpaper. Studs (9) are provided on a rear face of the body (1) so that the body stands proud of a surface and can thereby be more easily grasped.

Abstract: The present invention is a utility knife adapted for measuring by incorporating a pair of hooks into the blade end of the handle of a common utility knife, which hooks are designed to removably secure the tab of a spring-biased measuring tape such that the tape may extend roughly laterally from the knife but also roughly parallel to the surface being cut. The angles of the hook relative to the knife end are designed to correct for measuring inaccuracies created by the distance that the knife blade must be held away from the surface to be cut; the invention allows the printed measuring surface of the tape measure to remain roughly parallel to the surface being cut, allowing for great ease in reading the measurements during cutting.

Abstract: A multi-purpose tool including a plurality of tools useful to have available in an automobile, such as a flashlight, a tire pressure gauge, a scraper, and a fuse puller. The scraper preferably is pivotably mounted to a handle of the multi-purpose tool in a manner which permits the scraper to be positioned substantially perpendicular to the tool handles to permit scraping force to be applied to the scraper in an efficient manner. The multi-purpose tool preferably also includes a tool with pivotable jaws, such as a pair of foldable pliers, as well as a variety of pivotably mounted tools such as a cutting blade, a screwdriver, and a cap lifter. The tool preferably has two handles, each handle having storage channels for the tools coupled thereto. The tool jaws are pivotably mounted to the handles for selective movement between a storage position in the handles and a working position in which the jaws work together.

Movement of the apparatus along the work piece is easily accomplished since the angled tip or leader of a flexible measuring tape is used as a fence capable of sliding along the work piece with movement of the apparatus.
