Abstract: A utility device for a fisherman includes a housing having a neck strap, a downwardly and forwardly directed light source and a magnifying glass for downwardly and forwardly directed viewing in a beam of light generated by the light source. The device also includes a clock facing upwardly toward the user, a measuring tape, a hone, a belt clip, a line cutter and a measuring tape. The housing also includes material providing for flotation. Additionally, the light source, clock, measuring tape, hone and line cutter are all of modular design allowing plug-in mounting in the housing for ease of repair/replacement.

Abstract: Spaced, parallel mounting plates include a first clamp rod orthogonally directed through a lower end of the clamp plates, with a guide pipe orthogonally directed through the mounting plates spaced from the first clamp rod. A second clamp rod is orthogonally directed through the pipe below the clamp plates to permit securement of a pipe or extension member mounted within the guide pipe, wherein the first clamp rod secures the organization to a support platform. A modification of the invention includes a measuring member mounted to a top surface of the upper clamp plate, with a plurality of abrasive conical bosses mounted to the top surface of the upper clamp plate for finished abrading of end portions of pipes mounted relative to the apparatus.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a multifunctional drawing and writing instrument of a type wherein all of its pieces work together to perform a variety of functions that would otherwise require the use of several separate devices. The instrument shall be functional as a pen, a ruler, and a compass; all in one compact and convenient form. From its simple structure as a pen, it can be taken apart and reassembled as a compass, and parts thereof can further be utilized as a ruler.

Abstract: A combination tool assembly is disclosed having a pentagonal top block detachably fastened to an elongated, pentagonal base through doweled joints, a folding rule pivoted to the top block and received in a side chamber on the base, a cutter and ballpoint pens controlled by slides to move in and out of respective holes on the base, a triangular scale detachably side matched to the top block and the base. The folding rule may be separately used for measuring and arranged with the base into an instrument for drawing circles.

Abstract: A multipurpose cue tip preparation tool containing a number of openings for the insertion of a pool cue end. Access is provided for cleaning and flattening the ferrule end of a cue stick prior to the cementing on of a new tip. After the cement has dried, the invention may be used for trimming the excess tip material, rounding the playing end, comparing the rounding to an established contour and burnishing the tip sides to prepare the tip for play. A process is described for preparing flat and concave files to be used in the invention.

Abstract: An elongate handle includes a magazine housing secured adjacent a forward distal end of the handle, with the magazine housing positioned in contiguous communication to a rear surface of a guide plate. The magazine includes a reel of a flexible measuring tape extending from the magazine orthogonally through the guide plate and secured relative to the guide plate by a collet member to permit selective extension of the measuring web relative to the magazine and handle. A forward distal end of the guide web includes a support beam including a mount for a writing instrument and a cutting tool thereto.

Abstract: A tape measure frame assembly is provided for installation within the handle of a hand tool. The assembly includes a gearing connection between the tape and a retracting spring, which enables the assembly to be elongated in conformity with the tool handle. When the hand tool is used, the tape measure is always present when needed.

Abstract: A knife tool comprising a handle pivotally mounting a cutting blade and an elongate feeler gauge blade with a tapered gauging section on the feeler gauge blade having measuring indicia thereon and a reinforcing section extending along the length of the tapered gauging section to reinforce the feeler gauge blade.

Abstract: A device for cutting flexible tubing includes a support member attached to a wall surface in fixed stationary position. The support member has a shelf projecting horizontally therefrom across which the tubing to be cut is laid. An adjustable end abutment member locates the end face of the tube as it lies across the shelf. A blade which has pointed end projects forwardly from the support member above the shelf and has a sharpened edge facing upwardly away from the shelf. In operation the user manually grasps the tubing on either side of the self and pushes the tubing rearwardly across the shelf toward the support member so that it engages the blade which punctures the tubing. With the tubing held in position against the shelf, an abutment surface on the support member and the end abutment member, the tubing is manually rotated to provide a cut lying exactly in a plane at right angles to the axis of the tubing.

Abstract: A combination tape measurer, pencil sharpener and knife blade sharpener is provided. The pencil and knife blade sharpeners are provided on a separate insert that is fitted onto the tape measurer. This allows each component to be used without interfering with the others. This base is provided with means causing it to adhere to said flat. A second surface portion of this holder is distinguished by an inwardly directed slit which accommodates and defines a grip portion of the holder which receives, accommodates and retains a portion of a slide gage rule or its equivalent to establish the rule in a perpendicularly projected relation to that flat to which the holder seats.

Abstract: A combination tool includes a retractable knife and a pitch gage which provides pitch measurements directly in terms of inches of vertical rise per foot of horizontal distance. The tool can also be provided with indicia to permit vertical and horizontal alignment of shingles, as well as uniform overlapping of boards, and a liquid level device. The tool has a casing with a storage compartment for holding extra knife blades or different types of knife blades. A method is disclosed which permits the tool to be used for obtaining uniform shingle overhang, horizontal and vertical alignment of the shingles, and uniform overlap of siding boards.

Abstract: By providing a utility knife with an elongated slot which is formed in the housing thereof and longitudinally extends in the same plane as the cutting blade, a multipurpose utility knife is achieved which is capable of being cooperatingly employed with any conventional flexible ruler or measuring tape for attaining precise measurements for accurate blade cutting. By employing the present invention, the angled tip or leader of a conventional flexible ruler is securely retained within the elongated slot, thereby enabling accurate, directly measured positioning of the blade for cutting.

Abstract: A straight edge cutter guide for use when cutting a web such as wallpaper after it has been hung on a support surface which is normal to or inclined with respect to the horizontal plane comprises a blade, a handle and spirit level indicators. The blade is rigid and has a straight edge extending longitudinally along one edge thereof. The bottom face is flat and has a sufficient area to provide a stable base for the cutter guide. The handle is mounted on said base and has a hand grip portion located above the top face. The hand portion is accessible for use when retaining the base in any required position with its bottom face bearing against a web in use. The level indicators are mounted on the cutter guide so as to be visible when said bottom face is operably located.

Abstract: A multipurpose miniature hand tool includes two casings defining an outer housing. A roll of measuring tape, two scissor blades, and an elongated snap-off blade are extendably and retractably mounted within the outer housing. Each of the scissor blades are restricted to be movable only along one of the casings. A cap bolt extends through a lengthwise extending slide slot of each of the casings and through a pivot hole of each of the scissor blades and engages threadably with a nut for fastening tightly the casings and the scissor blades thereon. When the nut is somewhat loosed from the bolt, the nut and the bolt can slide along the slide slots of the casings together with the scissor blades, thereby permitting the scissor blades to extend partially out of the outer housing. At that time, the casings from the movable handles of a pair of scissors.

At the front end of a working portion (11a), a blade-type piercing member (18) is adapted to leave, in closed condition of the pliers, a free space relative to a surface of the other leg (12) serving as an abutment (17). In use, a cable wire is placed between the working portion (11a, 12a) of the pliers. Upon compressing the legs, the piercing member (18) penetrates the cable sheathing to establish with its point the electric contact between the cable core and the pliers' leg (11) which is provided with a connecting member (20) for the connection of a test cable (22). Due to the cable wire testing pliers, the customary stripping and securing of terminals may be avoided for testing cable wires.

Abstract: An improved writing tool consists essentially of a punctuation marking and error designation rubber seal supplemented by a capping furnished with seal stamping paste; two holes within the body, to permit insertion of a pen or a pencil stick, and a ruler; a clip serving to hold sheet of paper as well as pen holder; a cutter attached to the other side of the clip, serving to cut paper into smaller segments or chips as required. Such a tool proves to be advantageous and convenient in terms of utility, serviceability, endurance and convenience of application.

Abstract: An attachment for a utility knife is disclosed which allows the knife to be used in association with a measuring tape for cutting sheets of plasterboard and the like into uniform widths. In one embodiment, the attachment is in the form of a relatively thin metal plate which is fitted into the handle of the knife alongside the blade and which has a projecting flange at its outer end formed with a slot for receiving a measuring tape.
