Key Operable Only Patents (Class 70/123)
  • Patent number: 11028621
Abstract: A security lock for vehicles, especially for the cargo compartments of lorries or vans, but also usable on other doors, uses a clamp having two halves or plates such that same hold a bolt, increasing the contact area in the event of a possible attack or leverage, and, if the surface of the vehicle becomes deformed, the two halves jam the bolt, further increasing security and reducing the possibility of opening. In the security lock, the system of inside opening by a cable is eliminated. Further, opening from the inside of the vehicle is performed by rotating a shaft or handle perpendicular to the surface of the vehicle, preventing the vehicle from being accessed from the outside.

  • Patent number: 7401481
Abstract: A lock device for a notebook computer includes a fixing seat, two overlapping locking members, two elastic members, a mounting ring, an extension cable and a lock unit. Thus, the notebook computer is locked onto a fixture by the lock device to prevent the notebook computer from being stolen easily. In addition, the notebook computer is locked by or unlocked from the lock device by rotation of a key, so that the lock device is operated easily and quickly, thereby facilitating a user operating the lock device.

  • Patent number: 7228719
Abstract: A lock 10 for a sliding door or window. The lock 10 includes a hollow body 11 within which there is pivotally mounted a pair of hook tongues 14 and 15. The tongues are driven by rack gears 54 which are operated by a lock cylinder 19. The rack gears 54 move linearly in opposite directions to cause angular movement of the tongues 14 and 15 in opposite rotational directions.

  • Patent number: 6474118
Abstract: A lock for attaching a cover to a platform includes first and second pivotally mounted latch bars which spread to engage side walls of a strike opening in response to actuation of a key actuated rotatable plug mounted in the housing of the lock. The latch bars are mechanically spread to engage the strike in a positive manner and do not rely upon biasing means to maintain the lock in the locked position.

  • Patent number: 5735146
Abstract: The invention is a cam locking rod devices for securing doors on intermodal cargo containers, semi-trailers, utility trailers, trucks, and other similar cargo storage compartments. The lock rod device is used in conjunction with a rotatable cam lock rod, having cam locks on each end, mounted on a container door for securing the container door in a locked condition. A locking cylinder, through which the cam lock rod extends, has at least one locking projection thereon which interacts with at least one projection on a sliding latch, which when intermeshed prevents rotation of the cam lock rod. A pad lock is used in conjunction with the sliding latch to lock projections on the locking cylinder and slide latch in a meshed position which prevents rotation of the cam lock rod.

  • Patent number: 5249443
Abstract: A pre-assembled front-loading lock having a first cam fixedly mounted on its shaft, a second cam parallel to the first cam and rotatably mounted on the shaft, and a locking member fixedly mounted on the shaft to secure the second cam against rotation with respect to the first cam when the second cam has been rotated about the shaft a predetermined amount. As a result, the lock with the cams can be pressed through a panel opening and the cams thereafter be readily moved into operating position. A stop is provided on the locking member to prevent the second cam from being rotated in the wrong direction.

  • Patent number: 5209168
Abstract: A security system for a metal cabinet door comprises a latch adapted to be locked by a lock operating the latching members of the door. These comprise upper and lower strip members each having a plurality of hooks each of which, when the door is closed and latched, is engaged in an opening formed in a locking profiled member attached to the cabinet and at least one rotating sector whose rotation axis is perpendicular to the plane of the door. When the door is closed and latched the sector(s) enter an opening in a longitudinal member attached to the cabinet on the same side as the hinge(s). The sector is operated in the unlatching direction by the latch through a cable and in the latching direction by a return spring.

  • Patent number: 5052200
Abstract: A locking device for lock components, for example on vehicles, with two rotary closures which are arranged at a distance from one another and are connected by means of a mechanical transmission element to form a synchronously rotating closure unit and which interact with two catch bolts assigned to the two rotary closures, each located in a housing having an orifice adapted to receive the catch bolts. The two rotary closures of the closure unit, in their release position, are each blocked by means of an associated control member against rotation into locking engagement with the associated catch bolt. The control members are movable into an unblocked position in response to penetration of the catch bolts into the orifice of the housing, and the locking advance of the rotary closures is permitted only after both catch bolts have penetrated fully into the orifice in the housing.

  • Patent number: 5014959
Abstract: A closure, particularly, a telephone closure base with two closure members and a movable shear locking member. In a closed condition of the closure, aligned apertures of the two closure members may receive the locking member to hold the assembly closed. A part of one of the closure members having the aperture is flexible and tensile and has a flexure position such that, when an opening force is applied to the assembly with the locking member extending through the apertures, the flexible part is flexed under tension and is urged against an opposing surface of the other closure member formed with the corresponding aperture. This flexing action places the locking member mainly in shear while minimizing any bending forces upon the locking member.

  • Patent number: 4563885
Abstract: The present invention provides a door lock assembly and method which will provide security for building owners and dwellers and will result in a reduction of property damage and loss by burglars. The door lock assembly includes a tumbler type cylinder which can be rotated by a key from the outside to lock a door or other closure to which it is fitted to a first position whereupon the handle inside the door cannot be used to unlatch the lock from the inside. Also, the door can be locked and thereafter the cylinder can be rotated by turning the key in the reverse direction whereupon the door remains locked but upon withdrawing the key the door can be opened from the inside with the handle. Thus, after locking, the key can be withdrawn in either of two cylindrical positions depending on whether the user wants the door to be able to be opened from the inside by use of the handle.

  • Patent number: 4366683
Abstract: A clamping latch for a hatch door of a car or the like closure and characterized by a locking feature to prevent unclamping of such latch by mere banging on the hatch door and to thus provide unauthorized removal of such hatch door and entry into a car so equipped, as some sport cars now are. This locking latch comprises a clamping latch member that pivotally clamps against the rim around the access aperture closed by the hatch door and a key lock fixedly securing the clamping latch member in latching position.
