Abstract: An improved garage door lock mechanism includes a housing, a crank, a slider, a catch and a single, multipurpose biasing member. The elements are adapted such that the biasing member both biases the slider from a locking position and biases the catch to catch the slider when the slider is in the locking position.

Abstract: An improved door lock construction comprising a lock bolt formed in U-shape operable in association with an actuating mechanism, an interlocking device, a dog device and a hold-release device assembled in a box type housing to be mounted on the inner side of the door, capable of locking the door on closing and further locking with a key.

Abstract: Disclosed is a locking device for locking a door and the like, suitable for use in an electric locking system. The device has a dead bolt which is held in a retracted position within a housing when the door is open, and an actuating member adapted to be partially projected out of the housing when the door is open. The actuating member is slidably mounted in the housing and has an inclined surface acting as a cam surface for engagement with the end surface of the door. The actuating member is so inter-related with the dead bolt that the latter is driven into a corresponding hole in the door jam as the slidable member is depressed by the door, in the course of closing of the door. An electromagnetic plunger is provided for allowing the retraction of the dead bolt in accordance with a predetermined specific electric signal. A manually operative member is associated with the electromagnetic plunger to allow a manual unlocking if necessary.

Abstract: A flush-mountable, key-controlled, handle-operated door lock is provided with an automatic self-locking linkage for permitting the handle to move once, but only once, out of a nested position after a key control has been operated to "cock" the linkage. Once the linkage has been cocked, the handle can be moved one time out of and returned to its nested position, whereafter the linkage operates to retain the handle in its nested position until the key control is again operated to cock the linkage. The automatic latching linkage includes a housing assembly, a pair of cams, and a pair of springs. A feature of the automatic latching linkage is that its several components can be assembled easily on an existing, in-service lock to provide the existing lock with a one-trip automatic locking capability. The latching linkage components are assembled by installing the components one at a time in an essentially stacked arrangement, one atop the other.
