  • Patent number: 4359882
Abstract: Multiple, interconnected shielding portions (26,28,30) constitute a protection structure (22) which may be arranged relative to a console (10) in an obstructing position so as to shield instruments contained in the console (10) from damage. The multiple shielding portions (26,28,30) are relatively displaceable to permit common occupation of all the shielding portions (26,28,30) in an envelope formed by one of the shielding portions (26). Such common occupation or self-storing design permits the protection structure (22), when removed from the console (10), to be stored in a minimum of space. The protection structure (22) may be assembled in obstructing relationship with the console (10) by displacing the individual shielding portions (26,28,30) to predetermined positions prior to interconnecting the console (10) and one of the components (28) with tabs (38) connected to the component (28) into slots in the console (10).

  • Patent number: 4248069
Abstract: Apparatus for protecting and preventing theft of in-dashboard mounted vehicle radios and the like is shown wherein the locking apparatus is attached by means of the very same threaded shafts which are utilized as the primary mounting means of the radio instrument itself. The threaded mounting shafts of the radio instrument secure a backing plate to the face of the dashboard and a cover is removably connected to the back plate in such a manner that it may be locked over the mounting shafts as well as the operable portions of the instrument.

  • Patent number: 4099593
Abstract: The vehicle locking apparatus is used in a vehicle having a motor compartment, a motor therein, a hood for the compartment and a starting system for the motor. A safe compartment is positioned within the passenger compartment, and includes a lockable door. A switch within the safe disconnects the starting system from the motor when the door is closed. A hood lock has an actuator within the safe which is positioned to lock the hood when the door is closed. The safe compartment has an outer shell of heavy gauge metal interconnected with an inner shell of heavy gauge metal. The door is locked by a locking cam which is received in a slot on the inner shell and a slot on an inwardly extending projection of the door. When the door is closed the motor cannot be started and the hood is locked. The slots provide a double locking action making it difficult to force the door open when the safe compartment is locked.

  • Patent number: 4047744
Abstract: A lockable gas tank cap device comprises a cover hingedly affixed to a vehicle in the area of the open end of a gasoline tank of the vehicle in a manner whereby it covers the open end in a closed position and is free from the open end in an open position. A spring-biased pin is biased by a spring and slidably mounted on the vehicle in proximity with the cover for locking the cover in closed position under the force of the spring. A cable is affixed to the pin and extends into the vehicle for moving the pin against the force of the spring to release the cover for movement to its open position.

Abstract: A locking cover is provided which is mounted at one edge on a television set and so arranged when in locked position that all the primary television controls are covered and unaccessible to the hand, and which when unlocked, may be swung or slid to a position where access to the primary controls is provided. The device is further characterized in that when in locked position, it does not substantially interfere with sound coming from the loudspeaker aperture of the television set and does not cover the picture tube. The cover may be locked in place with any conventional type of lock and key such as a pin tumbler lock or a padlock, and may be unlocked by a key, combination arrangement or any other suitable lock.
