  • Patent number: 5715709
Abstract: By forming a plurality of false void zones in a lock housing in association with the tumbler release channel, a combination lock construction is attained which virtually eliminates the ability of trained individuals to gain unwanted access to the lock. Preferably, the combination lock housing also incorporates a plurality of non-releasing open or void zones or slots formed in association with the lock release groove for each rotatable tumbler sleeve. In this way, the desired false click is provided for each rotatable dial in order to thwart unwanted opening of the combination lock of this invention. Furthermore, the lock construction of the present invention is constructed with the interior chambers thereof virtually sealed from ambient surroundings, thereby preventing unwanted contamination from entering the interior of the lock and the rotating components thereof. In this way, degradation by contamination is virtually eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5661991
Abstract: A combination lock device includes a mechanical combination lock, a positioning plate, an extension shaft, a securing seat and an eccentric shaft. The combination lock consists of a housing, a lock shaft, a lock piece and a lock seat. When the number dials of the combination lock are turned to a set number, a lock hook of the combination lock disengages from a retain slot of the positioning plate. The combination lock may then be turned counter-clockwisely through 180 degrees so that the extension shaft and the eccentric shaft synchronously turn counter-clockwisely through 180 degrees, causing an eccentric rod linked up with a switch device in the drawer to displace through 180 degrees to allow opening of the drawer. In order to close the drawer, the procedure is reversed so that, after the combination lock and the positioning plate are positioned, the lock hook engages the retain hole by the turning of any one of the number dials.

  • Patent number: 5653136
Abstract: A locating device for a numeral wheel of a numeral lock, comprising a lock body, several numeral wheels, notched wheels and springs, wherein a locating channel is formed on a surface of the notched wheel in front of projections thereof and a latch spring is disposed in the locating channel. The latch spring has upward projecting portions, whereby when the notched wheel is fitted into the numeral wheel, the projecting portions of the latch spring and the projections of the notched wheel are all engaged with recesses of the numeral wheel. When it is desired to adjust or change a lock code, a pushing pin is used to push the notched wheel backward so as to disengage the projections from the recesses while keeping the projecting portions of the latch spring resiliently engaged with the recesses. Therefore, the numeral wheel can be rotarily adjusted and located without totally disengaging from the notched wheel so as to avoid poor location and jumping of the numeral wheel.

  • Patent number: 5638708
Abstract: A combination lock device with latch bolt includes a combination lock, a rotary rod means, a faceplate, a securing seat, a turning means, a slide piece, a latch bolt and a housing. In order to unlock the combination lock, number dials are turned to a preset code number so that a lock hook disengages from a retain slot of the faceplate. The user may then turn the combination lock counter-clockwisely to cause the turning means to turn therewith, so that a connecting piece at a bottom side of the rotary rod means also rotate, causing a notch of the connecting piece to push a post of a turning piece to displace through 90 degrees. A slide piece is caused to displace forwardly as a result of the post pushing a slide slot, so that a movable pin on two U-shaped indentations of the slide piece displaces upwardly and then downwardly by means of a spring, causing the latch bolt to retract into the housing. Locking may be achieved by reverse operation.

Each lever has a first end that protrudes externally of the apparatus, and a second end that is sized and shaped so that it may be engaged with a lip surrounding an associated aperture in the second structural element.
