Patent number: 11091935Abstract: A locking piece assembly adapted for installation in a cylindrical lock and meant to engage a locking mechanism comprises a locking piece and a lock button. The locking piece has one end adapted to engage the locking mechanism and an opposite end with a connecting hook. The lock button has an aperture adapted for attachment to the locking piece connecting hook, and can be depressed to move the locking piece inward to engage the locking mechanism after the locking piece assembly is installed in the cylindrical lock. The lock button can be installed onto the locking piece by hand, specifically by inserting the connecting hook into the aperture on the lock button, pivoting the lock button with respect to the locking piece, and placing the locking piece and lock button into alignment. After installation, the connecting hook is held in place to prevent separation from the lock button aperture.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2017Date of Patent: August 17, 2021Assignee: Sargent Manufacturing CompanyInventors: David Martinez Diaz, Fernando Meza Sanchez Tagle

Patent number: 4945737Abstract: A lockset for a door comprising a latch bolt assembly including a bolt movable between a partially extended latching position, a fully extending dead bolt position, and a retracted position. A spring biases the bolt toward its dead bolt position and a spindle extends through the latch assembly. The spindle is connected to the bolt to move the bolt between its positions upon rotation of the spindle. A mechanism is provided for holding the latch bolt in its latching position when the door is open and a mechanism responsive to the closing of the door is provided to move the latch bolt automatically into its dead bolt position.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1985Date of Patent: August 7, 1990Assignee: Emhart Industries, Inc.Inventor: Leroy Hart

Patent number: 4922737Abstract: A lock arrangement which includes a lock casing (5), a key-operated cylinder lock (1) mounted on one side of the casing, and a knob or finger-turn mechanism (7-10) mounted on the other side of the casing, this knob or finger-turn mechanism being effective in activating a lock mechanism activator device, such as a follower (6) located in the lock casing (5), through the intermediary of a cylinder-lock dogging element (4) and a knob dogging element (8). The cylinder-lock dogging element (4) and the knob dogging element (8) are axially movable and are in end-to-end connection with one another. When the knob or finger-grip is turned to secure the lock, the knob dogging element is moved axially in a direction which causes the cylinder-lock dogging element also to move in its axial direction, to a position which prevents a standard key from being inserted fully into the cylinder lock.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1989Date of Patent: May 8, 1990Assignee: ASSA ABInventor: Lars O. Patent number: 4594864Abstract: A lockset assembly which includes a bolt (12) movable between a partially extended latching position and a fully extended dead bolt position. When the bolt (12) is in the dead bolt position, the inside lever (10) can be used to retract the bolt. The outside operating assembly (27) is provided with a key operated lock cylinder (22) and the inside operating assembly (44) is provided with a turn button (26).Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1983Date of Patent: June 17, 1986Assignee: Emhart Industries, Inc.Inventor: Leroy Hart
