Performance Or Efficiency Evaluation Patents (Class 702/182)
  • Patent number: 11294904
Abstract: Some embodiments optimize a local, pending transaction queue of transactions locally executed by a client application to be synchronized with a server. Multiple transactions, which may be executed by the client application for a same local object, need to be synchronized with a server. The transactions, in queue for synchronization with the server, may include transactions to add, delete, or modify objects. Each set of transactions for a particular object in queue for synchronization with the server corresponds to a particular net effect on the server if synchronized individually to the server. The client application may replace the set of transactions for the particular object with a reduced set of transactions corresponding to the net effect, or entirely removed without replacement if there is no net effect of the set of transactions on the server.

  • Patent number: 11275667
Abstract: According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a correlation data correlating resource usage with workload signatures is maintained, each workload signature representing a cluster of block signatures, each block signature characterizing the transaction instances initiated in a corresponding block duration. For the transactions received in a current block duration, if a current block signature is not contained in the correlation data and if the current transaction arrival rate (TAR) is greater than an expected TAR, a resource requirement for the current block signature is computed. Actions to manage capacity to handle transaction instances are triggered if the resource requirement is greater than the resource allocation in the current block duration. As an unknown current block signature and a higher TAR may be indicative of a workload surge, triggering suitable actions for such block signatures facilitates such surges to be handled by the software application.

If the weather is identified to be a cause for consumption cost for the user exceeding a threshold cost for the period of time, then a notification can be generated. The notification can indicate that the consumption cost for the user exceeds the threshold cost for the period of time and that weather is a reason for the consumption cost for the user exceeding the threshold costs. As such, the notification can warn the user that a high bill should be expected, thereby reducing bill shock and ensuing call center calls.

  • Patent number: 11182236
Abstract: A method of determining a probabilistic metric for random hardware failure for an electronic system, such as a microcontroller, which comprises element and safety mechanisms (SMs) is disclosed. The safety mechanisms include first layer safety mechanisms (FL-SMs) and second layer safety mechanisms (SL-SMs). A first layer safety mechanism may provide at least partial coverage of failure of a part and a second layer safety mechanism may provide at least partial coverage of failure of a first layer safety mechanism. The method comprises calculating a first set of probabilities (KSM_i) associated with the first layer safety mechanisms, calculating a second set of probabilities (KDVF_n) associated with direct violation faults in the parts and calculating a third set of probabilities (KIVF_n) associated with indirect violation faults in the parts. The method includes obtaining the value of probabilistic metric for random hardware failure in dependence on the first, second and third sets of probabilities.

  • Patent number: 11184025
Abstract: An LDPC decoding method of a received signal including a plurality of received symbols is provided. A decoding apparatus selects a perturbation space in which perturbation is to be performed based on a code length of the received signal and a maximum number of perturbation rounds indicating a number of perturbation rounds that can be performed, and performs a perturbation round. The decoding apparatus performs perturbation on a corresponding received symbol among the plurality of received symbols in each perturbation round, and decodes the received signal on which the perturbation has been performed. The decoding apparatus determines that decoding is successful when there is a perturbation round in which a decoding result of the received signal satisfies a predetermined condition.

  • Patent number: 11156646
Abstract: A method for aggregating operating values of a plurality of spatially distributed operating units, wherein aggregation times are predefined and the operating values of each operating unit describe an operating variable at each of the respective aggregation times, and a respective aggregation value is generated from time-synchronized operating values of the operating units for the aggregation. Respective raw values are received for each of the operating units, which describe the operating variable at a respective detection time, and the operating values of at least one of the operating units are formed based on the raw values thereof. For each of the aggregation times, and based on a predetermined checking function, a respective operating value is sought which fulfills a synchronization criterion and a plausibility criterion. If an operating value of this type is found it is used, and if no such operating value is found, a detection gap is signaled.
