Performance Or Efficiency Evaluation Patents (Class 702/182)
  • Patent number: 11157382
Abstract: Obtaining or facilitating obtaining statistical performance of a storage system is described. For instance, a method comprises: dividing a value range of performance of a storage system into a plurality of adjacent sub-ranges, an upper limit value of each sub-range being a predetermined multiple of a non-zero lower limit value of the sub-range. The method also comprises: determining a distribution of a plurality of measurement values of the performance among the plurality of sub-ranges. The method further comprises: estimating, based on the distribution, a percentile of the plurality of measurement values corresponding to a predetermined percentage to indicate statistical performance of the storage system. As a result, statistical performance indicators of the storage system can be obtained with an acceptable error using a small amount of memory resources.

  • Patent number: 11156646
Abstract: A method for aggregating operating values of a plurality of spatially distributed operating units, wherein aggregation times are predefined and the operating values of each operating unit describe an operating variable at each of the respective aggregation times, and a respective aggregation value is generated from time-synchronized operating values of the operating units for the aggregation. Respective raw values are received for each of the operating units, which describe the operating variable at a respective detection time, and the operating values of at least one of the operating units are formed based on the raw values thereof. For each of the aggregation times, and based on a predetermined checking function, a respective operating value is sought which fulfills a synchronization criterion and a plausibility criterion. If an operating value of this type is found it is used, and if no such operating value is found, a detection gap is signaled.

  • Patent number: 11143545
Abstract: A process for thinning scalar machine vibration data can reduce the amount of data storage required to store the data by several orders of magnitude, without losing any important machine diagnostic vibration information. The process assumes that because each scalar vibration measurement value has its own range of values, there is a unique delta change in value that does not significantly impact machine diagnostic information provided by the data. Some embodiments provide a method to automatically evaluate the delta change in value. The process can be used to thin data that have already been stored in a database, and also to thin the data in real-time during data collection. Data storage structures for storing the thinned scalar values and processes for displaying a trend plot to indicate where the scalar data have been thinned are also described.

The spatial map is converted into a high resolution 3-D scaled-up computer model. The Z measurement in the 3-D scaled up computer model is scaled up 3 to 20 times more than the amount used to scale up the X and Y measurements to increase the depth of the 3-D scaled up computer model. A data set of printing instructions is created from the 3-D scaled-up computer model, a solid scaled-up model of the selected surface is manufactured in the 3-D printer, and the surface of the scaled-up model is colored to match the metal surface.

  • Patent number: 11029364
Abstract: In order to determine the charging capacity state and the state of health of an electrical energy store of a battery system (BS1; BS2) with little effort, a measuring device (ME) is proposed, which measuring device injects, into a drive train which is available for first or second loads (VR1; VR2) and has an AC/DC converter (ADC) or a DC/DC controller (DDC) on the DC side of the AC/DC converter (ADC) or of the DC/DC controller (DDC), a sinusoidal voltage harmonic with a varied frequency or a sinusoidal current with a varied frequency as a particular measurement signal which is transmitted to the battery system (BS1; BS2). The current response or voltage response, which has been purged of unwanted influences, is then determined for each measurement signal at the battery system (BS1; BS2), from which response phase shifts are determined in each case, and parameters for a statement relating to the charging capacity state or the state of health of the battery system (BS1; BS2) are in turn determined therefrom.

Abstract: Automatically generating a container image assembly file is provided. A definition of an application is assessed to determine a base container image and application libraries needed as add-ons for a container image corresponding to the application. A library dependency graph of flow from the base container image to add-on libraries for the application is generated. The container image assembly file is generated based on the library dependency graph of flow from the base container image to the add-on libraries for the application. Vulnerabilities corresponding to the add-on libraries of the container image assembly file are removed.

  • Patent number: 11026776
Abstract: Whether a vein has a stenosis may be determined using duplex ultrasound (DUS). A method of diagnosing stenosis includes: identifying a patient exhibiting at least one of a group of symptoms in at least one limb consisting of: pain, discomfort, swelling and venous stasis skin changes including ulceration; using duplex ultrasound to measure a cross-sectional area of a vein; and, if the cross-sectional area is less than or equal to 50% of a predetermined anatomical minimum for the vein, diagnosing the vein as stenotic. A device for diagnosing stenosis may include: a duplex ultrasound; a display; and a processor configured to show on the display a cross-sectional area measurement of a vein. Stenosis may be treated by inserting a stent in the vein. The predetermined anatomical minimum for the vein is a predetermined calculated valve based on physical principles. It is not a measured value from the patient, or any patient, or a population of patients.

  • Patent number: 11030038
Abstract: Performance data is collected for input/output operations executed at a storage device of a plurality of storage devices of a software-defined storage network. Based on the collected performance data, a time-based I/O performance profile for the storage device is determined. A characteristic time-based I/O performance profile is determined for a representative group of storage devices having common characteristics with the storage device and based on previously collected performance data for devices of the representative group. It is determined that the difference between the time-based I/O performance profile for the storage device and the characteristic time-based I/O performance profile exceeds a predetermined deviance threshold that is indicative of a probable failure of the storage device. An indication is generated that the storage device exceeded the predetermined deviance threshold.
