Patent number: 10534018Abstract: A method and apparatus for resolving time base-generated errors from sampling scope-based measurements. Mutually synchronized repetitive waveform-to-be-analyzed signals (WAS) and repetitive sinusoidal reference signals (RS) are respectively applied to a first channel and a second channel of a sampling scope. An average sine wave period Tav for k samples of RS is determined, followed by determination of phase error ?k for each of the k samples, corresponding to phase differences between an ideal sine wave signal and the applied reference sinusoidal signal. Time base error values dk for k samples are calculated from dk=?k*Tav/2?. Error values dk correct time base errors in the sampling signal, and the WAS is re-sampled at sampling times adjusted by dk.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2019Date of Patent: January 14, 2020Assignee: Guzik Technical EnterprisesInventors: Anatoli B. Patent number: 8949072Abstract: A method of obtaining a consistent evaluation of the state of the system which has been monitored by measurement of multiple parameters of that system. The multiple parameters are used to calculate a single dimensional value based on the distance between the current state and normal states of the system using a Parzen Windows probability function. Consistent single dimensional values regardless of the dimensionality of the original data set can be obtained by finding a relationship between the single dimensional value and the probability of status of the system. Different relationships are obtained for different dimensionalities of data sets. Sensor malfunction can also be detected by testing the probability of the state implied by measuring all of the available parameters against the probability of the state implied by ignoring different individual ones of the parameters. A significant disparity in the two probabilities indicate possible sensor malfunction.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2009Date of Patent: February 3, 2015Assignee: Oxford Biosignals LimitedInventors: Lionel Tarassenko, Alistair Hann

Publication number: 20130346005Abstract: An arrangement for signal analysis provides at least one central data-processing unit and a screen unit connected to the at least one central data-processing unit, wherein the central data-processing unit calculates a spectrum and a spectrogram from a digitised signal. The at least one central data-processing unit is embodied in such a manner that it controls the screen unit in such a manner that the spectrogram of the digitised signal, the characteristic of the spectrum of the digitised signal and the characteristic of the digitised signal present in the time domain can be displayed together on the screen unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2012Publication date: December 26, 2013Applicant: ROHDE & SCHWARZ GMBH & CO. Publication number: 20130311122Abstract: A testing system includes a computer, a connection cord, and a number of oscillographs. The each oscillograph has a GPIB port. The computer has a USB port. The connection cord has a USB connector for connection with the USB port and a GPIB connector for selectively connecting to a GPIB port of one of the oscillographs. The computer includes an oscillograph model displaying module, an oscillograph driving module, a storage module, and a testing interface module. The oscillograph model displaying module displays a number of oscillograph models for a user to select. The oscillograph driving module loads an oscillograph driver corresponding to the selected oscillograph model. The storage module stores a plurality of codes associated with a number of testing functions for different oscillographs. The testing interface module transmits the codes to the oscillograph, thereby driving the oscillograph to perform the associated testing functions to test a device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2013Publication date: November 21, 2013Applicants: HON HAI PRECISION INDUSTRY CO., LTD., HONG FU JIN PRECISION INDUSTRY (ShenZhen) CO., LTD.Inventor: ZHI-GANG XU

Patent number: 8572143Abstract: An output signal is generated from a received input data stream representing a sequence of digital data values. For each group of successive data values in the sequence of data values, a respective waveform pattern is assigned in dependence of the data content of the respective group of successive data values. The output signal is generated by generating the assigned respective waveform patterns corresponding to the input data stream.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2009Date of Patent: October 29, 2013Assignee: Agilent Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Dippon, Clemens Rabenstein

Patent number: 8555325Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are described for testing a data connection provided over a power supply line. A testing apparatus is coupled to a socket of the power supply line. The AC power supply line communicatively couples the testing apparatus to a communication device or another testing apparatus. The testing apparatus identifies the signal strengths of signals received by the testing apparatus and identifies the signal strengths of signals received by the communication device. The testing apparatus outputs an indicator of the first signal strength and the second signal strength to a user and this information may be utilized to detect noise or other problems in the data connection provided over the AC power supply line.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2008Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Assignee: EchoStar Technologies L.L.C.Inventors: Anthony Kozlowski, David Belt, Benjamin Cooke
