Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods for determining the ploidy status of a chromosome in a gestating fetus from genotypic data measured from a sample of DNA from the mother of the fetus and from the fetus, and from genotypic data from the mother and optionally also from the father. The ploidy state is determined by using a joint distribution model to create a set of expected allele distributions for different possible fetal ploidy states given the parental genotypic data, and comparing the expected allelic distributions to the pattern of measured allelic distributions measured in the mixed sample, and choosing the ploidy state whose expected allelic distribution pattern most closely matches the observed allelic distribution pattern. • Publication number: 20150025871
Abstract: A computerized procedure for aligning molecules for use in CoMFA or other 3D QSAR methodologies does not rely on fragmentation of the molecules instead, aligning molecules based upon comparison to identified template molecules. Initially an anchor bond is identified in the candidate and template molecule that have similar atoms at each end of the bonds. Unlike prior art methods, the anchor bond need not be an acyclic bond. The candidate molecule is overlaid onto the template molecule by aligning the anchor bonds. Starting and working away from the anchor bond, matching atoms or atom types between the candidate and template molecule are identified. Multiple layers of atomic connections are evaluated for matches. The atoms may or may not be contained within ring structures. Once all matching atoms have been identified, the 3D coordinates of the template atoms are assigned to the corresponding atoms in the candidate molecule to place the candidate molecule into alignment.

Abstract: In the present invention, a simulation model for a filler mixed material is generated easily and in a short time using a computer. The present invention is a method for generating, using a computer, a filler mixed material simulation model in which a filler is dispersed and mixed in a matrix, wherein the method is characterized by comprising the following: a step (S1) for partitioning the simulation-model forming space into a filler region and non-filler regions, and determining the boundaries of those regions; a step (S2) for dividing the filler region into a finite number of elements and setting the filler model; a step (S3) for dividing the non-filler region into a finite number of elements; a step (S4) for setting as an interface model at least those elements, from among the elements of non-filler regions, that are in contact with the filler model; and a step (S5) for setting as a matrix model those elements, from among the elements of non-filler regions, that are outside the interface model.

Abstract: Methods for non-invasive prenatal ploidy calling are disclosed herein. Methods for determining the ploidy status of a chromosome in a gestating fetus from genotypic data measured from a sample of DNA from the mother of the fetus and from the fetus, and from genotypic data from the mother and optionally also from the father are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, the mixed sample of DNA may be preferentially enriched at a plurality of polymorphic loci in a way that minimizes the allelic bias.

Abstract: Functional imaging information is used to determine a probability of residual disease given a treatment. The functional imaging information shows different characteristic levels for different regions of the tumor. The probability is output for planning use and/or used to automatically determine dose by region. Using the probability, the dose may be distributed by region so that some regions receive a greater dose than other regions. This distribution by region of dose more likely treats the tumor with a same dose, allows a lesser dose to sufficient treat the tumor, and/or allows a greater dose with a lesser or no increase in risk to normal tissue. The dose plan may account for personalized tumors as each patient may have distinct tumors. Probability of dose application accuracy may also be used, so that a combined treatment probability allows efficient dose planning.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to appropriately and easily evaluate a photosynthetic function of a photosynthetic sample contained in an evaluation sample. An evaluation method for photosynthetic sample according to the present invention is for evaluating a state of a photosynthetic sample with a photosynthetic function based on temporal data of a luminescence amount of delayed luminescence emitted from the photosynthetic sample. First, characteristic values that indicate characteristics are determined for a plurality of time periods in the temporal data. An evaluation value is then computed by weighting the characteristic values. The state of the photosynthetic sample is then evaluated based on the evaluation value.

Abstract: Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data and insulin delivery data are used to generate more reliable projected alarms related to a projected glucose levels. A memory stores endogenous data related to measurements of glucose level in a patient, and also stores exogenous data, such as insulin on board, both of which are used by a processor to create projected alarms. Profiles of CGM data are created for use in tuning patient-specific insulin data, such at basal rate, carb ratio, and insulin sensitivity. A processor searches for patterns in the data profiles and if found, recommended changes to patient-specific insulin data are provided to permit more accurate control over a patient's glucose levels.

Each instance may access the memory space of other instances. Once one instance of a routine is linked to another instance, the instances may compute the rate at which mass and heat energy move from the first to the second, or vice versa. Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for improving glucose management through cloud-based modeling of circadian profiles is provided. For each daily meal period, two sets of pre- and post-meal period data that include a blood glucose level and a diabetes medication dosing are stored into a circadian profile for a diabetic patient in a cloud computing infrastructure. Predicted blood glucose is modeled over the infrastructure and the access will be validated. A model, including expected blood glucose values and their predicted errors is created from the blood glucose levels in each profile and visualized in a log-normal distribution. Target ranges for blood glucose are determined and superimposed over the expected values. Pharmacodynamics of the medication are obtained. An incremental change in dosing of the medication is propagated over a model day and the expected blood glucose values and their predicted errors are adjusted in response to the incremental dosing change.
