Abstract: Systems and methods discussed herein relate to a system for detecting and preventing fraudulent transactions through collecting requests for website access, stored-card trades and sales, and transactions using physical or electronically issued credit, debit, stored-value, and other cards. The fraud detection system not only flags individual transactions, but is also configured to dynamically track and update banned/watch lists associated with request artifacts and cards in order to catch and prevent individual actors as well as BOTs, at least by adjusting the thresholds used to evaluate risk scores and what is placed on the banned/watch lists based upon requests received as well as information from financial institutions, merchants, government agencies, and watchdog groups. Abstract: Computing technologies for benchmarking, which may be based on a k-Nearest Neighbor (kNN) algorithm or another suitable machine learning algorithm, solve a cold start problem for a recommender engine employing a collaborative filtering algorithm when training data of user preferences or actual data of user actions is not available. For example, the cold start problem's unavailability of labeled data to train and develop a supervised model may be addressed by breaking the cold start problem down into two parts. The first part includes a KNN (or another suitable algorithm) model to cluster profiles based on a set of variables and this implementation of the KNN model is unsupervised, since there is no labeled data available to train the KNN model. The second part includes a prioritization algorithm that leverages certain outputs from the KNN model and neighbors to prioritize benchmarks.

In the staged state, the NFC device performs an NFC handshake with the mobile device. Following the NFC handshake, the receiver receives a signal from the mobile device. The signal includes a biometric confirmation of the identity of the user and an identification of the mobile device. The biometric confirmation may be derived by the mobile device from a biometric parameter associated with the user. The handshake initiates completion of the transaction.

The PED is configured to operate to display text to the user on the alphanumeric display to prompt a response from the user. The displayed text corresponds to approved text and unapproved text.
