Abstract: A collaborative authoring application provides an authoring environment in which two or more users can edit a document concurrently. Each user edits a copy of the document, sends updates to a master copy of the document, and receives updates from the master copy of the document. The authoring environment generally inhibits the users from providing conflicting editing instructions to the master copy of the document. For example, each user can generate a content lock about one or more data units within the document. The authoring environment may synchronize content locks automatically and content only at the request of the user.

Abstract: Scalable architectures, systems, and services are provided herein for generating jobs by applying user-specified rules to events in an action log framework (ALF) stream is disclosed. More specifically, collaboration environments can include features or mechanisms that allow end-users or collaborators to perform a variety of actions such as, for example, file uploads and previews, or collaboration operations such as, for example, task assignment and comments. These actions can be captured or logged by an action log framework and, as described herein, automatically translated into one or more jobs by applying customizable user-specified rules.

Abstract: A method for selecting a command file is described. One or more command files coupled with a first device are accessed. Each command file of the one or more command files comprises one or more command file attributes. One or more device attributes associated with a second device are accessed. The one or more command file attributes and the one or more device attributes are compared to determine a correlation between the one or more command files and the second device. Based on the comparing, generating a ranked portion of the one or more command files according to the correlation.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining mutation regions for a spreadsheet. Mutation regions are iteratively assigned to a first region of cells in the spreadsheet. To assign a mutation region, a column is selected from the first region. A first row in the first region of cells is associated with the selected column that is not assigned to a mutation region and that is not included in a second region of the spreadsheet is determined. A largest region contained within the first region that does not overlap with the second region for which the cell in the selected column and the first row is in a designated position is determined. The largest region is assigned as a mutation region for the spreadsheet.

Abstract: The invention provides a system and method for retrieving and storing industrial data, the system comprising a data retriever that includes a data retrieval manager and one or more watchers for monitoring data associated with one or more industrial devices, wherein if the data associated with the one or more industrial devices is new or modified, the one or more watchers notifies the data retrieval manager thereof and the data retrieval manager uploads the new or modified data. The system further includes a database manager for receiving the new or modified data in a first form from the data retrieval manager and for storing the new or modified data in a structural data form in one or more databases.

Abstract: A system facilitates collaborative communications and information sharing in a network defined by a model. The model and a portion of the system are stored on a storage component coupled to a terminal. The system captures context information and user-defined data, the user-defined data provided during user interaction of the user in a first domain of the network, and dynamically stores the context information as metadata associated with the user-defined data, the user-defined data and the metadata stored on the storage component; a tracking component for tracking a change of the user from the first domain to a second domain of the network and dynamically updating the stored metadata based on the change, where the user accesses the user-defined data from the second domain; and an interface to the system that permits the user to create and view the user-defined data according to the model of the network.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, computer program product, and computer system for managing reviews of a computing file. The method includes a computer receiving a computing file, the computing file containing software program functions. The computing system receives a list of one or more reviewers to review the computing file. The computer parses the computing file by function. The computer receives an assignment of at least one of the one or more reviewers to at least one function within the computing file. The computer sends a request to review the computing file to the at least one of the one or more reviewers assigned.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system for publishing and displaying digital materials, comprising an ePub publishing module comprising a mechanism for publishers to upload ePub files, a user management module providing a means to add, edit and remove end users from the system, a bookshelf module for organizing the user's content in order to create a logical grouping of content, a reading content module for reading content after the user has been mapped to the content, and an annotating content module for annotating user selected text.

Abstract: A determination is made at a first computing device of whether there is a synchronization conflict between a change to a first synchronized item at the first computing device and a change to a second synchronized item at a second computing device. If a synchronization conflict exists, rule-based conflict resolution is performed to automatically resolve the synchronization conflict. The rule-based conflict resolution is based at least in part on a type of the change made to the first synchronized item, a type of the change made to the second synchronized item, and a set of multiple rules. A notification of the resolution is then sent to the second computing device.

Abstract: A location based service and method configured to provide a mechanism for information to a subscribing user. The method is implemented on a computing infrastructure and includes querying one or more databases for matching information of a third party that is associated with one or more mobile devices that pass within a predefined location at one or more predefined intervals. The method further includes providing location information to a subscribing user of the one or more mobile devices that have the matching information and pass within the predefined location.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for training scoring models. One method includes storing data identifying a plurality of positive and a plurality of negative training images for a query. The method further includes selecting a first image from either the positive group of images or the negative group of images, and applying a scoring model to the first image. The method further includes selecting a plurality of candidate images from the other group of images, applying the scoring model to each of the candidate images, and then selecting a second image from the candidate images according to scores for the images. The method further includes determining that the scores for the first image and the second image fail to satisfy a criterion, updating the scoring model, and storing the updated scoring model.

Abstract: Methods, systems and techniques for managing revisions of documents in a collaborative, multiuser document store are provided. Example embodiments provide an Automated Document Revision Management Server (“ADRMS”) to automatically cluster and remove revisions of file content for easy navigation and management. Revisions are trimmed when necessary to conserve storage space. The ADRMS creates logical clusters of revisions based upon some measure of their similarities. That is, revisions that are similar and can be represented by the latest revision in the cluster formulate one cluster, and those that are markedly dissimilar are placed in a different cluster. The logic used to cluster revisions accounts for time-based factors, content-based factors, and context-based factors to determine whether a revision is incremental and can be grouped in the same cluster or is significant enough to warrant a new cluster. Revisions may be trimmed based upon age and/or available space by a revision trimming component.

Abstract: A technique is provided in which, in a foreign language document in which a space character is provided for separation of words forming a document, it is possible to reliably detect each word separation and reliably reinsert a space character in the separation. It is decided whether adjacent characters are included in the same word (i.e., presence or absence of space) using: decision by an English writing rule, decision by information as to whether there is a space character in source document data; decision by the identification of character string objects including adjacent characters; and decision by a gap between the character string objects including the adjacent characters. It should be noted that it is preferable to make a decision by these processing in order of this description.

Abstract: A system to design, create integrate and operate online communities uses web-based participation technologies. Any content can have attributes that make it appear as any type of content. With this uniform content architecture, all user-generated content is treated as a post (or, more generally, a submission), and there is no need for a participant to author multiple entries for separate uses. Preferably, content created or otherwise associated with a particular author is intrinsically tied to the author via the author's profile. At each point of participation, the content is associated with the individual, which allows the system to build and maintain a rich “living” profile for each community member. Using this approach, the system can build and enable querying of so-called “social aggregations,” which are data sets that describe a relationship among one or more author attributes and one or more content attributes.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for improving scalability in a system which incrementally updates remote clients with events that occurred in a cloud-enabled platform. In one embodiment, a method comprises, in response to an action from a user in the cloud-enabled platform, determining a list of events to update one or more collaborators of the user about the action. The method further comprises separating the list of events into a plurality of sub-lists of events such that each sub-list of events can be stored in a database within a designated amount of time, and further comprises storing the plurality of sub-lists of events into the database to be read by the one or more collaborators. Among other advantages, embodiments disclosed herein provide enhancement in scalability, robustness and availability for cloud-based collaboration platforms with large numbers of collaborators by incorporating mechanisms to divide-and-conquer the workload of event updates in such platforms.

Abstract: The problem of abuse of privileges at cloud-hosted service sites is addressed by associating each user, preferably across multiple cloud-hosted service sites, with an individual “suspiciousness” score that may vary over time as additional user actions are detected and evaluated. Knowledge of the user is employed to better analyze the appropriateness or acceptability of user actions on the site.

Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for storing documents that are being tracked in an on-demand service. These mechanisms and methods for storing documents in an on-demand service can enable embodiments to provide the sharing of documents and the storing of the documents in association with a tag. The ability of embodiments to provide the sharing of documents and the storing can enable an efficient searching for a shared document. In an embodiment, the shared document is categorized upon being stored.

Abstract: A user engaged in an online chat session with one or more other users can start a screen sharing session with the other users without having to leave the context of the online chat session. In an implementation, a chat window for the chat session includes a screen sharing button. The screen sharing button can be clicked to start a screen sharing session with the other chat participants. A system generated message is displayed within the chat windows of the other chat participants inviting them to view the remote screen. Upon accepting the invite, a viewer is launched to show the information being displayed on the remote screen. A variety of enhanced features and functions are also presented in the context of screen sharing in an information networking environment.

Abstract: A document management system includes: a shared storage section that stores document information so as to share the document information among shared users; an access management section that permits access to the shared storage section by each shared user through authentication; a history acquiring section that acquires a record of an operation that is input for the document information by any shared user; an SNS server function section that generates a social timeline showing specific pieces of information in time sequence and generates, for each shared user, a history timeline that is a social timeline showing as the specific pieces of information the operation records acquired for the shared users; and a timeline display processing section that acquires, for each shared user, a history timeline reflecting the state after the authentication of the shared user to display the history timeline showing the operation records in time sequence.

Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods to provide multi-client generic persistence for extension nodes are described herein. A standard field value and an extension field value specific to a client of a business data object are separated. Further, an extension node instance key associated with the extension field value is segregated. Furthermore, the standard field value and associated standard node instance key are stored in a standard persistence unit, and the extension field value is stored in an extension data persistence unit. Also, the extension node instance key and a relation between the standard node instance key and the extension node instance key are stored in an extension key persistence unit.

Abstract: In a corpus of scientific articles such as a digital library, documents are connected by citations and one document plays two different roles in the corpus: document itself and a citation of other documents. A Bernoulli Process Topic (BPT) model is provided which models the corpus at two levels: document level and citation level. In the BPT model, each document has two different representations in the latent topic space associated with its roles. Moreover, the multi-level hierarchical structure of the citation network is captured by a generative process involving a Bernoulli process. The distribution parameters of the BPT model are estimated by a variational approximation approach.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and program product in which and by which cross-cultural ambiguities in a document data file are identified and collaborative editing of such a document data file by a plurality of editors is enabled to move effectively toward a shared understanding of the intended meaning of a created document.

Abstract: The various embodiments herein provide a method and system for securely storing and managing plurality of documents in cloud storage. The embodiments herein provides secure upload and access to the documents stored in the cloud storage, from a user device comprising a mobile phone, a desktop, and other computing devices over a network connection. The embodiment allows safe and easy sharing of documents using a one-time link or email, paper document location management and movement tracker, setting of alerts/remainders for document related activities and use of emails to directly upload documents in the cloud. Further, an application for accessing a plurality of modules is provided for accessing digital documents and items stored in the cloud storage from the user device.

Abstract: A method for analyzing database records using sampling includes querying a recipient database for recipients with attributes that match one or more specified recipient attributes, querying a sampling database for transactions with attributes that match one or more specified transaction attributes, where the sampling database stores a subset of transactions that are also stored in a transaction database, intersecting the recipients resulting from the querying of the recipient database and the transactions resulting from the querying of the sampling database based on attributes thereof to create a set of joined sample results, and determining an approximate full count value by extrapolating a count value associated with the set of joined sample results based on both a total number of recipients in the recipient database and a total number of transactions in the transaction database.

Abstract: A computer based system and method of providing document isolation during routing of a document through a workflow is disclosed. The method comprises maintaining a separate “working” copy of the original base document while the document is routed through a workflow. Access controls, which define who may access the original document as well as any versions of the working copy document, are defined and stored in relation to the documents. The access controls further define the types of actions users may take with respect to the document. Users are selectively directed to the appropriate document, either the base document or working copy, and selectively granted permission to perform publishing operations on the working copy document, as determined by the access controls.

Abstract: Map reduce processing is performed holistically, to yield map reduce results data, on an aggregated group of data sets, which had been generated and maintained with “splits” separating the separate date sets, rather than being performed separately on the split data sets and then aggregating (or attempting to aggregate) the map reduce processing results.

Abstract: This invention discloses a method, process, and system for displaying electronic documents that require approval from at least one party, and includes auditable tracing of approvals. The system can be centralized in a web-based or other electronic location, or be integrated as plugin, widgets, or other types of entities in other systems that provide APIs or other methods of integration. The invention presents approval by a person or group as an indication on the original document or as a separate indication. The recipients that are needed to approve the document are sent a notification that there is a document waiting for approval. Approvals are stored for auditing.

In one embodiment, a system is disclosed for managing documents over a network. The system may include a storage device and one or more processors. The processor(s) may receive a request from a remote computer that is displaying in an interface a second version of the document, and the request may include a request for information from one or more entries in the document log. Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for a system to manage changes to a shared electronic document. In embodiments, a client side method is used to manage changes to a shared electronic document. The method includes receiving a change to a locally stored rendition of a shared electronic document, and updating a change history. In embodiments, the change history captures the change made to the locally stored rendition of a shared electronic document. The method also includes sending information regarding the change to a server, receiving information regarding a master copy of the shared electronic document, and determining based on the received information the change was accepted by the server and applied to the master copy of the shared electronic document.

Abstract: A computerized system and method provides for sharing digital assets among multiple different organizations in a multi-organization system, and further providing that one or more of localized digital assets can be assembled using digital assets, templates and rules specified by different organizations. Further, the various organizations can contribute and share digital assets with organizations, while controlling the localization of the asset with brand or other information both as specified by the provider organization and as specified by the user organization.

Abstract: Solutions, systems, and techniques for applying 2-dimensional changes to a shared document are discussed. The document is divided into vertical columns of a particular width, each column represented as a one-dimensional vector that is a sequential list of blocks in that column, each block representing a content item included in the document. Each block has a starting column, a block height, and a block width indicated by how many columns the block occupies. Each block has row indexes that represent a relative position of the block in each column it occupies. A document modification command is represented as transfer functions, each transfer function corresponding to a document column. The transfer functions are applied to the document columns to alter a row index of block(s) in the corresponding column(s), thereby altering the relative position of a block with respect to other blocks in that column.

Abstract: A workflow application allows users to store, manage, and perform tasks related to workflows comprised of ordered sets of documents. The application provides an interface for creating and managing a workflow. Each document added to the workflow is assigned to a particular position in the workflow. Via the interface, the user saves data defining the workflow. In this manner, the workflow may be shared or preserved for subsequent re-use. The application allows a user to perform various tasks with respect to the workflow. Via an interface control presented by the application, the user instigates such tasks. In response, the application causes the task to be performed for each document in the workflow in an order corresponding to the arrangement of the documents within the workflow. For example, the application may render and print each document in the workflow. Or, the application may generate a combined workflow report.

Abstract: Computer-implemented method, system, and computer program product for processing data in an out-of-order manner in a streams computing environment. A windowing condition is defined such that incoming data tuples are processed within a specified time or count of each other. Additionally, the windowing condition may be based on a specified attribute of the data tuples. If the tuples are not processed within the constraints specified by the windowing condition, the unprocessed tuples may be discarded, i.e., not processed, to optimize operator performance.

Abstract: The present invention is a method, system and apparatus for dynamically binding principal services to activities in a business process in a cross-enterprise business process management system. In a preferred aspect of the invention, the system can include a business process specification document processing engine configured to process business process specification documents in which each of the documents defines a business process. A deployment service can be coupled to the engine and programmed to generate and deploy partner link instances for corresponding partner links specified in the documents. Finally, a link base authority can be configured to notify each partner link instance when an endpoint reference to a principal service has changed. Notably, the business process specification documents can include BPEL documents. As such, the business process specification document processing engine can include a BPEL4WS run-time engine.

Abstract: Described herein are methods and systems for hierarchically mapping, ranking, and labeling data sets automatically. Also provided are methods for browsing and navigating a hierarchically mapped data set, and START identifying changes in network structure over time. An example method may involve receiving document data indicating a corpus of documents and references between documents within the corpus. Based on the document data, a network comprising two or more nodes and at least one directed edge may be determined. Also, a hierarchical partition of the documents may be determined based on the directed edges of the network. The hierarchical partition may define a plurality of nested modules, and each module in the plurality of nested modules may be associated with one or more respective documents within the corpus. The method may additionally include causing a graphical display to provide a visual indication of one or more of the plurality of nested modules.

Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically creating collaborative teams and managing collaborative work of a team are generally disclosed herein. One example embodiment includes the dynamic creation of a collaborative team by creating an association between team members via a managing module. The managing module may be capable of managing, among other things, team members on a team, tasks and goals of each member of the team, as well as documentation associated with the team. In some embodiments, the managing module may use a chat or messaging protocol to manage collaborative modifications to documents of the team.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide a method of managing and preventing conflicted copies of a content item. For example, as changes are made to a content item, either by multiple users simultaneously or by a single user utilizing multiple devices, conflicted copies can be inadvertently created. These conflicted copes are multiple copies of the same content item where each copy may separately contain unique changes. Heuristics can be used to help users more easily avoid or manage these conflicted copies. In one example, a user could be notified and shown the difference between copies to either accept or reject changes. Further, users could also be notified when modifying a content item on a device that has not been synchronized in a determined period of time, or when the content item is known to be modified but the changes have yet to be synchronized to the device.

Abstract: A method for sharing documents between on-demand services is provided. In an embodiment, a user of a first on-demand service may be able to view a list of content that includes content stored at the first on-demand service and content stored at a second on-demand service. The content of the second on-demand service may be associated with information about the content, allowing the content to be shared among multiple users of the first on-demand service. The user wanting to view the content, select or click on an indicator identifying the content, a connection to the second on-demand service is established, and images of the content are sent from the second on-demand service to the first on-demand service.

Abstract: A genealogy registry system includes a central server database and a central server. The central server database includes surname workspaces for storing genealogical data in lineage-linked form, a submission link space for making and storing links between data in the data spaces, and a third-party link space for making and storing links between the data spaces. The central server includes a surname cooperation manager to manage cooperation between researchers researching genealogy for the same surname, a unique ID generator to generate a unique ID for any individual being researched, a visible data selector to allow access to a subgroup of data on the central server database, and a workstation manager to manage transmission of data to the central server database from workstations where data are assembled relating to a particular surname. The workstations may assemble data by extracting, indexing, sorting and linking information from source documents for the surname.

Abstract: A method and system for providing a consistent flow documents and data content across different organizational units of a company or agency where the documents and data come from different enterprise systems and data stores but are related to linked processes that share models for organizing the content in the business context and in a format that enables a user to relate the content to the process step or steps they are performing. The system includes a network service that enables a configuration utility to automatically discover the objects and metadata and provides for a mapping of selected fields of the metadata to regions displayed in the user interface view with provision for filtering the data by mapping selected fields to a user input form. Thereby, a business analyst can create solutions without writing and maintaining complex program logic for each combination of presentation environment, enterprise system and data store.

Abstract: A facility for navigating an electronic document is described. The facility receives user input selecting a portion of the content of a rendered document that constitutes a sentence fragment. In response to receiving the user input, the facility identifies an electronic document contained in a corpus of electronic documents, the identified electronic document containing the selected document portion. In response to receiving the user input, the facility further identifies a position within the identified electronic document at which the selected document portion occurs.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for organizing information that can be shared among multiple individuals. The information is structured and categorized according to areas of concern, sub-areas of concern, concerns, outcomes, commitments, and occasions. Multiple disparate individuals may be associated with one or more areas of concern, concerns, outcomes, commitments, and/or occasions. If one individual fails to achieve an outcome, the remaining individuals may be notified automatically, enabling corrective action to be taken. New areas of concern, and their associated concerns, outcomes, and occasions may be added for one or more individuals. Additional features, such as calendars, to-do lists, and other features may be integrated with the present invention. Web-based and/or client-server interfaces can be used to review and/or update system information. Messages and conversations can be associated with particular nodes within the concern cascade.

Abstract: A system can comprise a memory to store machine readable instructions. The system can also comprise a processing unit to execute the machine readable instructions. The machine readable instructions can comprise an event extractor to parse a packet capture (pcap) file that includes a packet transmitted via a network between an application under test (AUT) executing on a mobile device and a server to determine a network event based on the packet. The event extractor can also generate an application programming interface (API) command file that includes an API command generated based on the network event.

Abstract: A document workflow management system monitors progress of a document as it moves between various personnel to whom workflow actions have been assigned. It may send the document to the alternate person and then return the document to the original workflow when the alternate person has completed the action. If the document includes content that is subject to an access restriction, it will automatically redact that content before sending it to the alternate person, and it may return the content to the document when the document returns to the original workflow.
