Abstract: Provided are a method and system for providing a social network service that is connected to at least one subscriber terminal over a network. According to the present invention, a user may set up a goal in his/her life and put activities into practice. The user may apply other subscribers' life contents to himself/herself while viewing them during setting up the goal or putting the activities into practice, as needed. Comments from other users may function as catalyst in changing subscribers' mind and behaviors to live happily and successfully.

Abstract: In one implementation, a computer-implemented method includes receiving a request to access an electronic document collection that integrates a plurality of electronic sub-documents that are each of one of a plurality of defined document types. The method also includes retrieving information that is associated with the document collection, wherein the retrieved information identifies a first sub-document of the plurality of sub-documents using a first non-address identifier, and identifying a first software application that is configured to provide access to the first sub-document. The method additionally includes initiating a first connection with a first server that causes execution of the identified first software application and that, using the first non-address identifier, provides access to the first sub-document.

Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for inviting participants in an online document sharing community to accept terms of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to access a document. Group information for a group created by an owner of a document indicates at least one document associated with the owner and at least one invitee. A join message is sent to the at least one invitee participant computer. The join message includes a description of the document that does not include all the content of the document and a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) requesting the invitee to accept terms of the NDA in order to access all of the content of the document. The content of the document is only provided to the invitee participant computer of the at least one invitee that has accepted the NDA.

Abstract: Merging of query elements in an enterprise system is described. The enterprise system receives queries, which may each be broken down into query components. The enterprise system identifies query components that are related to identical event information from a data source of the enterprise. The enterprise system sends a single query to the data source for the event information, receives the response, and sends the response to the query sources.

For example, one embodiment of a system for performing file coordination comprises: a file coordination service having arbitration logic for arbitrating among different read and write processes attempting to perform file read and write operations, respectively; and a file presenter representing a file opened by a file editing application and registering the opened file with the file coordination service; wherein prior to permitting a read/write process to perform its designated read/write operation, the file coordination service notifies the file presenter and waits for a response from the file presenter indicating that the read/write operation may proceed.

Abstract: The exchange of documents for execution can be performed efficiently using an automated system that routes and stores documents based on routing information. Routing may be accomplished with reminders for individuals of deadline for responding. After execution is confirmed, an executed copy may be forwarded to all parties and desired non-parties. If execution or approval is desired from a plurality of individuals, documents received from each of the plurality of individuals can be merged into a single, fully executed document if the approval/signatures are obtained simultaneously. Search capability for identifying data regarding the document, text within the document, or both may also be provided.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer readable media for media for continuous content sharing between systems through intelligent resolution of federated hierarchical graphs are described. A Multi-Topology Middleman (MTM) is used between the source and target systems to handle the content sharing. The MTM builds on traditional import/export infrastructure; it tracks the import/export of individual objects between systems. When a conflict is found between systems, the MTM learns the conflict resolution and stores the conflict resolution as a rule for the conflicting object, and applies the rule for subsequent import/export process on that object. The MTM also tracks the mapping of objects between the source and target systems and updates the target object in accordance with a change in the source object. The MTM is also capable of undoing the import process.

Abstract: A method for deriving data provenance information corresponding to a workflow process having lower-level workflow processes includes deriving internal provenance information for data pertaining to at least one of the lower-level workflow processes, identifying data objects that are shared between at least a pair of lower-level workflow processes to derive external provenance information for the identified data objects, in response to a user-submitted query, using the internal and external provenance information to retrieve the data provenance information for the workflow process, and outputting the derived data provenance to a user.

Abstract: A document management system/method allowing coordinated synchronized modifications and secure, scalable, multi-level, and controlled access to Data Content and/or Documents (DCDS) over a computer network between multiple Content Owners and/or Reviewers (CORS) is disclosed. The system/method is configured to allow any number of CORS to share DCDS using a Content Collaboration Platform (CCP) while retaining complete DCDS integrity/retrieval control using a hierarchical Access Rights and Control List (ARCL) to prevent CORS from uncoordinated DCDS modification and prohibiting local maintenance of DCDS copies after the expiration of a CORS Data Access Session (DAS). Upon termination of a CORS DAS, the system synchronizes modifications to the DCDS and coordinates control information among various CORS to ensure proper return of the DCDS back to its original CORS owner and associated CORS storage location.

Abstract: Systems and methods for supporting metadata for work items stored in a web-based content management system with collaboration environment are disclosed. Users uploading work items to a folder are not required to provide metadata for the work items. Collaborators of the folder can provide metadata to work items within the folder.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, to assemble a collection of documents according to a document list. The document list represents documents to be included in the collection, and includes multiple entries that identify document templates. Each document template includes instructions that a web server can execute to generate a web document based on one or more parameters. Links in the received web documents can be identified and updated. The collection of documents can be accessed as part of a web site.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for selecting invitational content for users based on their short-term and their long-term features. In operation, responsive to a request from a user terminal for a content package a journal of events associated with a user. Thereafter, short-term and long-term features in the journal are identified and tagged with pre-defined tags indicating a type of content associated with the patterns. The tags are then used to select invitational content by selecting content based on tags for the identified short-term features associated with a threshold level of activity or tags for the identified long-term features.

Abstract: Job schedulers and associated methods of scheduling jobs are disclosed. A job scheduler in one embodiment includes a job queue and a schedule processor. The job queue receives and stores a plurality of jobs to be executed on the devices, such as in a print shop. Each of the jobs defines one or more process to be performed for the job. Each of the processes in a job defines one or more operating parameters for the devices. To schedule the jobs that are stored in the job queue, the schedule processor identifies the processes from the jobs that define one or more common (i.e., the same or equivalent) operating parameters for a device. The schedule processor then schedules the jobs for execution based on the processes that define common operating parameters.

Abstract: A method for sharing documents between on-demand services is provided. In an embodiment, a user of a first on-demand service may be able to view a list of content that includes content stored at the first on-demand service and content stored at a second on-demand service. The content of the second on-demand service may be associated with information about the content, allowing the content to be shared among multiple users of the first on-demand service. The user wanting to view the content, select or click on an indicator identifying the content, a connection to the second on-demand service is established, and images of the content are sent from the second on-demand service to the first on-demand service.

Abstract: A user-extensible common schema is described in the context of a shared database. In one example, an apparatus includes a shared database organized around a common schema. First and second applications provides access to the shared database using the common schema, the first and second applications having first and second schema extensions having first and second sets of additional objects, defined by the first and second applications, respectively. The first and second applications present views of and operations on the shared database that are extended by the respective schema extension.

Abstract: Methods, systems, tools and computer program products are provided that enable a document revision management system to utilize lockless collaboration such that a plurality of users can edit a plurality of document versions concurrently. The system uses a directed acyclic graph to store information concerning ancestry of versions of related documents and to track revisions between parent and children versions. The system provides users the ability to save versions as private or published and to apply security parameters so that only certain users or groups of users may see specific revisions and/or versions. The system can redact portions of the revision history for non-authorized users. Automated publication notifications can be distributed by the system to document moderators to update them of available changes to documents. The system allows for automated merging of non-conflicting changes as well as moderated merging when human interaction is desired and/or required.

A look-ahead importance system generates transition probabilities of transitioning between any pair of source and target documents based on analysis of links to target documents of the source document. The system may calculate the transition probabilities based on the number of links on documents a look-ahead distance away. The system then solves for the stationary probabilities of the transition probabilities. The stationary probabilities represent the importance of the documents.

Abstract: There is provided a file revision-control system, method and apparatus configured for storing and managing a revision history log, and for enabling to track and manage, compare and retrieve revisions including, current-revisions stored on a designated reference area, past-revisions stored in a predefined storage area and also past-revisions which were previously on a reference area. According to certain embodiments of the invention, each revision of a file is represented by a revision entry in a revision history log, which can be stored and managed in a designated data-repository. A revision entry stores data corresponding to at least one revision, while the revisions themselves may be stored on a designated data-repository. A progression path refers to one or more revision entries which represent the progression of a file over time. In case that a revision is branched into more than one revisions, each such revision will constitute a different progression path.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for a collaboration environment in which a number of different workspaces can use the same, reusable content. According to one embodiment, a method of providing collaboration using reusable content can comprise identifying a content item to be included in a first workspace of a plurality of workspaces of a collaboration environment. A first proxy representing the identified content item can be created. The first proxy can have a unique identifier within the first workspace. A mapping table record can be created for the first proxy that links the first proxy to the content item. Additionally, a cross-reference table record can be created for the first proxy. The cross-reference record can identify a relationship of the first proxy to another content item in the first workspace.

Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) displays a flow of activities of a business process, including any portion thereof from which capture of data is permitted. The GUI receives, in an operation, at least an indication of a business process portion from which data is to be captured (“sensor”), an identification of an endpoint to which captured data is to be transferred, and a type of the endpoint which identifies (through a mapping) a predetermined software. A sensor may be added any number of times (through a single GUI or though multiple GUIs) by repeatedly performing the operation. Also, a given sensor may be associated with multiple endpoints. Computer(s) executing the business process check whether or not a sensor is present, on execution of the business process portion, and if present, then execute the corresponding predetermined software(s) to transfer data from the sensor directly to the respective endpoint(s).

Abstract: A document processing method includes receiving, at a server with a network interface, electronic documents from a user. The server includes a software application adapted to recognize a class of electronic documents to which the electronic documents belong. The method also includes processing the electronic documents received from the user to extract data therefrom based on a recognition that the electronic documents belong to the class of electronic documents. The extracted data corresponds to a service being provided to the user. The method also includes automatically mapping the extracted data from the processed electronic documents to a data repository on the server. The data repository is accessible by the user through the network interface. The method also includes electronically generating output data based on the mapped data from the data repository to the user. The output data corresponds to the service being provided to the user.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the inventive subject matter are directed to a debugging system (“system”) configured to access a work flow document. The workflow document may include references to flow activities connected by flow connectors, forming a workflow path. Some of the flow connectors may have breakpoints. The debugging system can insert command instructions for a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) request into the workflow document at locations associated with the flow connectors and initiate a test run of the workflow path. In some embodiments, during the test run, when one of the flow connectors is reached, the system executes the command instructions for the HTTP request, sending the HTTP request to a debugger application (“debugger”). If a breakpoint is associated with the flow connector, the debugger can delay response to the HTTP request, otherwise the debugger can respond immediately. A user can debug the workflow document during the delay.

The example document access processing module uses the coauthoring status of the software application and the file lock status of a document file to determine whether a software application is permitted to have write access to the document file.

Residing at and executing on each pathology workstation is a digital pathology application client, which is the counterpart of digital pathology application services at the central workflow server. The combination of digital pathology application services at the central workflow server and digital pathology application client at each pathology workstation support a pathology workflow software module and a slide viewer software module. The present disclosure also describes a method of operation and/or use of the digital pathology system.

Abstract: Described is a new framework that combines the best of both exploratory search and social search: Collaborative exploratory search. This system allows a small group of focused information seekers to search through a collection of information in concert. The system provides exploratory feedback not only based on the individual's search behavior, but on the current, active search behavior of one's fellow search allies. The assumption is that the users who have gotten together to search collaboratively have the same information need, but differing perspectives and insights as to how to best express the queries to meet that need. The collaborative exploratory search system will therefore provide tools and algorithmic support to focus, enhance, and augment searcher activities. Searchers can, by interacting with each other through system-mediated information displays, help each other find all relevant information more efficiently and effectively.

The processor and executable code are communicatively coupled with the storage medium and are configured to (i) display the relationship objects on the display and (ii) allow a user to manage synchronization of the EDC objects with the input device.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, workflow templates are stored, each including a predefined sequence of workflow stages associated with a particular type of medical diagnosis or process. Each workflow stage defines one or more image processing operations to be performed. At least one workflow stage generates metadata specifying a parameter to be used by another workflow stage for processing a corresponding medical image. In response to medical image data received, at least one of the image processing operations defined by the workflow stages is performed on the medical image data. A scene is generated for each of the workflow stages representing an image view representing the medical image data. In response to a save or validate command received from a user, the scene associated with each of the workflow stages is stored in a persistent storage, which can be used to recreate a corresponding medical image view subsequently.

Abstract: A first database and a second database have different schemas. An activity in a workflow accesses a data item in a list by invoking a method in an interface of a list object. The list comprises a collection of data items. Each data item in the list comprises an item key field specifying an item key. No two data items in the data item collection have item key fields specifying a shared item key. In addition, each data item in the list comprises a set of additional fields. Each field in the set of additional fields has a value derived from the first database or each field in the set of additional fields has a value derived from the second database. In this way, the activity can be implemented without knowledge of the different schemas of the first database and the second database.

Abstract: A server enforces a policy for selecting what received change to process. The non-selected changes are not processed by the server. Instead, after the selected change is processed and is incorporated into the current version of the text, the server sends an update to each of the clients indicating the change made to the current version of text. A client performs a conflict resolution procedure when its change was not processed by the server. The conflict resolution procedure detects the differences between the updated text version and its text change that was not accepted by the server and uses the differences to deduce the intent of the user and come up with a merged version of the text which preserves the intent and avoids data loss. The updated version is then sent back to the server to update the current version of the text.
