Abstract: In an analyst network, at least representative data of information elements (i.e., discrete quantities of content suitable for analysis by one or more analysts), acquired by a routing controller, is provided to a workstation. Based on the representative data, displayed results are provided including information indicative of processing performed by at least a portion of a plurality of analysts using the analyst network. Indicia of treatment indicative of treatment statuses of individual information elements are preferably provided in the displayed data. Various occurrences may give rise to updated treatment statuses that cause the displayed data to be updated as well. In this manner, the present invention enables individual analysts to prioritize processing of information elements based on processing performed throughout the entire analyst network.

Abstract: The subject matter of this specification can be implemented in, among other things, a computer-implemented search method including receiving, at a non-browser application on a computing device, part or all of a user search query. The method further includes displaying search results responsive to receiving the search query in the non-browser application. Abstract: Techniques are provided for performing transaction-aware caching of metadata in an electronic file system. A mechanism is described for providing transaction-aware caching that uses a cache hierarchy, where the cache hierarchy includes uncommitted caches associated with sessions in an application and a committed cache that is shared among the sessions in that application. Techniques are described for caching document metadata, access control metadata and folder path metadata. Also described is a technique for using negative cache entries to avoid unnecessary communications with a server when applications repeatedly request non-existent data.

Abstract: Systems and methods enhance content from one source with content obtained from another source. Information about content, such as content that is or will be experienced by a user, is used to identify the content from another source. The content from the other source may be content of a different type than the content being enhanced. The content from the two (or more) sources are combined and provided simultaneously. The combined content may be provided using a set of one or more electronic devices.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards systems and methods for the classification or scoring of content items. The method according to one embodiment comprises providing at least one labeled content item as input to an initial classification model, a given labeled item having at least one feature, a given feature being associated with a weight, computing a posterior probability of the initial classification model for the given labeled content item and generating an updated classification model using the initial classification model and the weight associated with the given feature in the given labeled content item. The updated classification model is applied to an unlabeled content item to determine a score for the unlabeled content item.

Abstract: A similarity analysis framework is described herein which leverages two or more similarity analysis functions to generate synonyms for an entity reference string re. The functions are selected such that the synonyms that are generated by the framework satisfy a core set of synonym-related properties. The functions operate by leveraging query log data. One similarity analysis function takes into consideration the strength of similarity between a particular candidate string se and an entity reference string re even in the presence of sparse query log data, while another function takes into account the classes of se and re. The framework also provides indexing mechanisms that expedite its computations. The framework also provides a reduction module for converting long entity reference strings into shorter strings, where each shorter string (if found) contains a subset of the terms in its longer counterpart.

Abstract: A method and system for predicting a next navigation event are described. Aspects of the disclosure minimize the delay between a navigation event and a network response by predicting the next navigation event. The system and method may then prerender content associated with the next navigation event. For example, the method and system may predict a likely next uniform resource locator during web browsing to preemptively request content from the network before the user selects the corresponding link on a web page. The methods describe a variety of manners of predicting the next navigation event, including examining individual and aggregate historical data, text entry prediction, and cursor input monitoring.

Abstract: A system and related method for identifying a trigger event to a patient health-related exacerbation. The system includes at least one sensor configured to collect data related to the patient health-related exacerbation, an analyzer configured to validate the collected data, a patient interface device configured to receive patient inputs to at least one question, and an identifier device configured to receive the patient inputs and collected data and identify the trigger event. The system may also include an expert system configured to receive the patient inputs and the validated collected data and identify a primary patient disease, and a reporting device configured to generate reports related to the identified primary patient disease, patient inputs, and sensed patient conditions.

Abstract: A system includes reception of an instruction to access a column of a database table, determination that the column is not associated with the schema of the database table, determination of whether the schema of the database table is flexible or static, returning, if it is determined that the schema of the database table is static, of an error in response to the instruction, and, if it is determined that the schema of the database table is flexible, not returning an error in response to the instruction.

Abstract: An information processing method and an electronic device are disclosed in the invention. If it is determined that a multimedia file is called by an application and the application is a preset application, a parameter value is assigned to the called multimedia file; and if it is determined that the called multimedia file is called by the application which is used to browse the multimedia file, a mark corresponding to the parameter value of the multimedia file is displayed. Thereby, it is possible to known whether the multimedia file is called by observing whether there is a mark corresponding to the parameter value of the multimedia file being displayed, so as to solve the problem in the prior art that after multimedia files are called by an application, it is not possible to determine which multimedia files are called by the application when the multimedia files are browsed.

Abstract: A system for analyzing an access path to access a target file in an image and the method thereof are provided. By determining whether the image includes the target file based on the access path and determining an entity path and an image path from the access path when the image includes the target file, the invention opens the image according to the entity path, and accesses the target file in the image according to the image path. The system and the method can directly access the target file in the image on the server, achieving the effects of reducing waste of network resources and shortening download time.

Abstract: A search request received at a computer of a search support system is processed by analyzing the received search request to identify request parameters and connecting to a system index of the search support system that is referenced in the request parameters. An external result provider (ERP) process is initiated that establishes communication between the search support system and a data source external to the search support system, for a virtual index referenced in the request parameters. Thus, the ERP process provides an interface between the search support system and external data sources, such as by third parties. The ERP process can operate in a streaming mode (providing real-time search results with minimal processing) and/or a reporting mode (providing results with a greater delay and processing extent) and can switch between modes. The search request results are received from the connected system indexes and the referenced virtual indexes.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method for creating a non-redundant data set from a plurality of data sources. Generally, the system and method operate by creating unique hash keys corresponding to unique data files; compiling the hash keys along with seeking information for the corresponding data files; de-duplicating the hash keys; and retrieving/storing the data files corresponding to the de-duplicated hash keys. Thus, in accordance with the system and method of the present invention, a non-redundant data set can be created from a plurality of data sources. The system of the present invention can operate independently or in conjunction with any de-duplicating methods and systems. For example, a de-duplicating method and system can be used to read and obtain data from a variety of media, regardless of the application used to generate the backup media. The component parts of a file may be read from a medium, including content and metadata pertaining to a file.

Abstract: A method for increasing performance of non-relational databases with reduction in view index sizes is provided. One or more user views are provided in addition to the master view having all hierarchical/categorized data. User views are created having a subset of this hierarchical/categorized data that significantly reduces index size and improves performance. The indexes of the user view are associated with the indexes of the master view. This method improves view caching by dividing view cache into partitions based on the types of view, each with different priorities and management techniques. The master view may have a higher priority and may be used by servers while the user view may have lower priorities and may be used by users and client applications. In this way, legacy non-relational databases may continue to be suitably maintained with acceptable performance and avoiding potential cost and risk of migrating to a relational database.

The data pertains to use of the drives and media during data storage operations and data about the activities of the real or virtual tape libraries. Thus, files that are more frequently accessed are stored in regions that have a faster retrieval value. The files can be classified by another measure such as priority. Multiple queries are then created based on the string and the model number database is queried using the created queries. Abstract: Described in detail herein are systems and methods for deduplicating data using byte-level or quasi byte-level techniques. In some embodiments, a file is divided into multiple blocks. A block includes multiple bytes. Multiple rolling hashes of the file are generated. For each byte in the file, a searchable data structure is accessed to determine if the data structure already includes an entry matching a hash of a minimum sequence length. If so, this indicates that the corresponding bytes are already stored. If one or more bytes in the file are already stored, then the one or more bytes in the file are replaced with a reference to the already stored bytes. The systems and methods described herein may be used for file systems, databases, storing backup data, or any other use case where it may be useful to reduce the amount of data being stored.

Abstract: A system and method for data storage and removal includes providing databases and providing encryption keys. Each database is associated with a database time period and each encryption key is associated with an encryption time period. Data items are received and each data item is encrypted using the encryption key associated with the encryption time period that corresponds to a time associated with the data item. Each encrypted data item is stored in the database associated with the database time period that corresponds to the time associated with the data item. Each encryption key is deactivated at a predetermined time after the associated encryption time period ends. Each database is made irretrievable upon a determination that all of the encryption keys associated with the data items stored in that database have been deactivated.

The controller may generate a first folder having a name including text obtained from first contents displayed on the display unit, search the memory for second contents that are associated with the obtained text, and store information related to the searched second contents in the first folder. Thus a user of the electronic device may integrally store, manage, and utilize the second contents associated with the text.

Abstract: A method and system is described which allows users to identify (pre-recorded) sounds such as music, radio broadcast, commercials, and other audio signals in almost any environment. The audio signal (or sound) must be a recording represented in a database of recordings. The service can quickly identify the signal from just a few seconds of excerption, while tolerating high noise and distortion. Once the signal is identified to the user, the user may perform transactions interactively in real-time or offline using the identification information.

When a new object-type is selected, some of the options in the first object-type are copied from the options list associated with the first object-type to the options list associated with the second (new) object-type. The list of options to be transferred is determined by a set rules associated with a transferable array and a set of rules associated with a quarantine set. The transferrable array includes rules for options available for transfer, and quarantine list includes rules for options and type pairs that are not available for transfer.

Abstract: An information retrieval system for automatically retrieving information related to the context of an active task being manipulated by a user. The system observes the operation of the active task and user interactions, and utilizes predetermined criteria to generate context representation of the active task that are relevant to the context of the active task. The information retrieval system then processes the context representation to generate queries or search terms for conducting an information search. The information retrieval system determines the relevance of a word to the context by utilizing an adaptive weighting system. The information retrieval system assigns varying weights to different attributes of a word and calculates an accumulated weight of the word by accumulating all weights assigned to the word. The attributes may include word size, style, location of the word, etc.

Abstract: An extensible file system format for portable storage media is provided. The extensible file system format includes the specification of primary and secondary directory entry types that may be custom defined. The primary and secondary directory entry types can be further classified as critical and benign directory entries. The directory entry types can define whether a cluster chain corresponding to a file can be contiguously allocated.

Abstract: The subject disclosure is directed towards packaging, storing and distributing guidance packages, comprising management tool extension program code and associated metadata. In one aspect, a guidance package is packaged and stored in a storage repository. The repository is accessible through APIs or the like, which allow creating, reading, updating, and deleting of a guidance package. The interface set allows for searching among a plurality of guidance packages, including by searchable metadata in each guidance package.

Abstract: Techniques for logging performance data are described herein. According to one embodiment, in response to a request for logging performance data, where the request includes a data type indicating a type of performance data and an actual performance data value, a non-linear mathematical operation is performed on the performance data value to generate an index value. The performance data represents a performance measurement of a predetermined operation performed by a data processing system. Thereafter, a value of a data field in a performance data store that stores the performance data is updated based on the type of the performance data and the index value. The value of the data field is updated without having to lock the data field for purpose of simultaneously accesses.

Abstract: Interactive database viewing is provided. A server associated with a database accesses a stored result set from a database query. The server presents a portion of the result set in a list view to a client device remote from the server and the cache memory, where the portion presented is based on filter selection based on fields of the data. In response to changes to the filter selection, the server can dynamically alter the list view without having to again access the database. If a change to the filter selection requests data outside the cached result set, the server accesses the database and updates the cached result set. Inline editing of the data in the list view can be applied back to the database by the server.

The interceptor may include a separate instance of the statement pool for each physical database connection. Embodiments of the invention provide mechanisms by which a dispatcher can enable application code to coordinate changes in application state with the consumption of messages from a communication medium. The coordination can be automatic where the dispatcher performs the coordination, or manual, where the coordination is performed more expressly by application code. Embodiments also include mechanisms by which applications targeting an execution (e.g., continuation based) runtime may compose alternative state transitions in the application with a peek lock protocol.

An action context is received where the action context includes an application requesting the action. A set of metadata is searched for metadata corresponding to the action, where the search is limited by the action context. Selected metadata for the action is inserted into a collection. The selected metadata is a result of searching the set of metadata. The selected metadata includes a reference to the set of executable instructions that implements the action and a description of the action. The collection is then returned.

An exemplary system includes a user interface device, a relational database and a processor. The processor receives relationship information and receives attributes with associated measurements for the groups, enclosures, assets, and support entities for the corporation from the user interface device. The attributes with associated measurements are formatted according the specific industry of the corporation. The processor generates a three dimensional (3D) visualization of the groups, enclosures, assets, and support entities and allows a virtual walkthrough of the 3D visualization as presented on the display device based on user entered commands from the user input device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining an address for a private function. A start address for a public function of a software program in a data file associated with the software program is determined. Instruction data for the public function is identified in the data file based on the start address of the public function. First data of a predetermined size is read from a beginning of the instruction data for the public function. A signature for a private function of the software program is identified in the first data. A relative address for the private function in the data file based on the identified signature is stored in memory.

Abstract: A network- and/or client-side device configuration system facilitates automatic configuration of portable electronic devices. Predetermined configuration parameters for a particular portable electronic device are generated and stored. A computer-readable visual symbol such as an optical graphic code (for example, a tag, barcode, or matrix code) is generated by a network-side service and transmitted to an authorized user of the particular portable electronic device. The portable electronic device reproduces the visual symbol and transmits a message (which may or may not include the reproduced visual symbol) to the (same or different) network-side service. The network-side service authenticates the portable electronic device, and authorizes the portable electronic device to access and use the predetermined configuration parameters to automatically configure itself.
