The method also includes determining a document index for the at least one document based on keywords included in the at least one document. An activity field is inserted into the document index. The method includes accessing activity information. The activity information identifies at least one activity keyword associated with at least one activity. The method further includes identifying at least one present activity keyword in the document based on the activity information. An indicator of at least one present activity is determined based on the at least one present activity keyword. The method includes indexing the indicator of the at least one present activity in the activity field of the document index.

Abstract: An Internet infrastructure that supports search operations along with malware screening that uses a search server of a search string from a client device. The search server comprises a search engine for searching the Internet and contains modules for malware detection and quarantine functions. The search server identifies the malwares in the search results, generates malware metadata, and provides appropriate messages to the client device that initiated the search service so the user can avoid malware while browsing and searching Internet. The search results that span to a desired level of sub-domain Universal Resource Locators (URLs) and links are quarantined and denied access when found to be infected with malwares. The associated status messages of the search results are displayed with color code and a popup window displays all the information about the searched links when accessed.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a system for assisting creation of messages, by automatically recommending data to be included therein. The system includes an application configured to accept a set of user inputs of a first classification to determine and provide a group of suggested data relevant to the set of user inputs of the first classification. The group of data is chosen from an evolving collection of data of a second classification. The user is able to select any or all from the group of suggested data to adopt as the user's own and/or to provide additional or different data, which are of the second classification. The user inputs and the user's selection(s) are values collected for use in subsequent determinations.

Abstract: A reporting system is described herein that allows a report author to declare data reporting structures that specify to a reporting application how to dynamically categorize data with changing or potentially unknown characteristics. The reporting system may extend RDL and the data grouping provided by Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services by adding new elements to the XML-based RDL schema. The reporting system allows the report author to specify for the system to fill gaps in the data, so that the report has a similar layout even as data changes from period to period. The reporting system also allows the report author to specify whether data that does not fit any predefined group bucket is displayed in a report. Thus, the reporting system allows unsophisticated database users to define reports that group data consistently regardless of missing values or other changes in the underlying data.

Abstract: An approach is provided for associating interest tags with media items based on social diffusions among users. The media tagging platform processes and/or facilitates a processing of one or more user profiles to determine one or more interest tags relating to one or more users, captured at one or more user devices to determine one or more frequencies of the one or more signals. Next, the media tagging platform determines one or more social diffusions of the one or more media items among the one or more users. Then, the media tagging platform causes, at least in part, an association of the one or more media items with the one or more interest tags based, at least in part, on the one or more social diffusions.

Abstract: Hierarchy similarity measure techniques are described. In one or more implementations, categories in a hierarchy of categories are assigned to each of at least two objects. A similarity score may be calculated for the at least two objects that takes into account the categories assigned to the objects. To compute the similarity score for the objects, a distance in the hierarchy between the categories assigned to the objects may be used. Further, a number of siblings in the hierarchy of the categories assigned to the at least two objects may be used to compute the similarity score for the objects.

Abstract: A processor-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product defines multiple context-based conformed dimensional data gravity wells on a context-based conformed dimensional data gravity wells membrane. Abstract: A method for dynamic event detection based on content from a set of social networking systems including receiving content from the set of social networking systems, identifying a plurality of content associated with a geofence, the content that was generated within a predetermined time period, determining feature values from the plurality of content for each of a set of features, determining an event probability for the geofence based on the feature values, and detecting an event within the geofence in response to the event probability exceeding a threshold event probability.

Abstract: A catalog builder is disclosed. This invention relates to data management systems, and more particularly to catalog creation mechanisms in data management systems. Present day data management systems employ catalog builder tools. However, the catalog builders cannot be configured as per the requirements of the users. Further, there are no mechanism to configure custom catalogs and associated metadata. The disclosed catalog builder may be employed to configure an online central repository on the fly and build a catalog. The catalog builder is equipped with a central repository. Further, catalog builder is also provided with advanced search features and analytical capabilities in order to search for the data specified by the user and fetch the data from the central repository. The catalog builder is also provided with clustering and segmentation capabilities in order to slice and dice the data.

Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method and technique for language tag management includes: accessing a standardized language tag repository to identify changes in repository language tags; searching records of a data source categorized using language tags to identify language tags present in records of the data source; determining whether the language tags present in the records of the data source are inconsistent with the repository language tags; responsive to determining that the language tags present in the records of the data source are inconsistent with the repository language tags, determining a language tag update policy for the data source; and performing a language tag update process for the records according to the language tag update policy to re-categorize the records based on the repository language tags.

Abstract: When a social networking system receives a report of malicious activity, the social networking system calculates disabled connectivity score for a user reporting the activity or identified by the report. The disabled connectivity score indicates how strongly the user is associated with other objects that have been disabled by the social networking system. Hence, the disabled connectivity score provides a measure of the user's trustworthiness that is used to determine a type of action to be taken in response to the report. Examples of actions that may be taken when a report is received include ignoring the report, further reviewing the report, or taking remedial action by disabling or deleting an object maintained by the social networking system that is the subject of the report.

Abstract: A system for processing data comprises a deduplicating system, an interface, and a processor. The deduplicating system stores a copy of data stored in a data storage system by storing a set of segments that is able to reconstruct the data stored in the data storage system. The interface receives an indication to revert data stored in the data storage system to a state of data at a snapshot time stored in the deduplicating system. The processor is configured to determine a subset of the data stored in the data storage system that has changed between the data stored in the data storage system and the state of data at the snapshot time stored in the deduplicating system using a first list of fingerprints associated with the data stored on the data storage system and a second list of fingerprints associated with the state of data at the snapshot time stored in the deduplicating system.

Abstract: A messaging system receives a message that is intended for a recipient, who is a user of a social networking system. An object associated with the message is identified based on the message content and/or metadata associated with the message. The messaging system accesses a social networking system database to obtain social information about a relationship between the recipient and the identified object. The message is then indexed using the social information, wherein an entry for the message is stored in a message index based on the social information. This process may be repeated for each received message, and multiple different message indexes may be generated for received messages to track different types of social information. A user interface for viewing messages uses the message index to organize the messages, such as to filter, categorize, and/or sort the messages in the display.

A plurality of aggregation processes are implemented by combining processes by the operators, and the plurality of aggregation processes are performed as one transaction.

The context-aware search apparatus includes a storage configured to store information about personal raw data collected from a routine activity of a user and life log information of the user, a communicator configured to communicate with a user equipment apparatus, and a controller configured to, in response to receiving a search request of the user through the communicator, extract a keyword from the search request, search the storage for information associated with the keyword based on the life log information of the user, and transmit a result of the search to the user equipment apparatus. Thus, the context-aware search apparatus provides a search result appropriate for a user based on personal raw data collected from a routine activity of the user.

In some embodiments, a method is provided for associating a first object with one or more objects within a plurality of objects, each object comprising a first plurality of properties, each property comprising data reflecting a characteristic of an entity represented by the object, the associated objects comprising matching data in corresponding properties for a second plurality of properties. The method may include executing, for each object within the plurality of objects and for the first object, the following: creating a slug for the object, the slug comprising the second plurality of properties from the object; and inputting the slug for the object into a Bloom filter. Further, the method may include creating for a bin within the Bloom filter corresponding to the slug for the first object, an association between objects whose slugs correspond to the bin if the slugs for those objects match.

Abstract: An online educational publishing platform generates an effective grade point average for respective users of the platform by aggregating data describing educational activities of the users. The educational activity data includes users' interactions with pages of content distributed by the online educational platform, as well as data retrieved from user profiles of the users and external databases. The educational activity data is filtered into a plurality of categories and scored based on scoring metrics associated with the categories. Using the scored user activity data, the publishing platform generates the effective grade point averages. Each user may have multiple eGPAs whose value depends on how the eGPA was generated. Accordingly, an eGPA provides a quantitative representation of a student's academic engagement, achievements, and experiences.

Abstract: Legacy documents of an enterprise are scanned and analyzed to determine best practices and rules for each category. Clauses and groups of clauses are assigned scores for relative value. Each category of documents has a profile of the clauses and groups of clauses which establish a norm against which proposed new documents may be scored. An absence of an expected clause within group of clauses results in a lower score. An absence of a group of expected clauses results in an even lower score. Abstract: In an information searching method, information content records are provided in a computer network, each information content record including a tag indicator forming a subset less than a whole of a context hashtag record. When a search query including at least one search term is received from a user, a search is performed of an index of context hashtag records for the at least one search term. The index of context hashtag records is based on data other than only the subset less than the whole of the context hashtag record. Based on the searching, a list of context hashtag record matches is generated, and a search result is returned to the user. The search result includes a list of information content records, each information content record on the result list being associated with at least one context hashtag record on the list of context hashtag record matches.

Abstract: A system, apparatus, computer-program product and method are provided for identifying members of a particular user segment. One particular user segment of interest includes members who work for employers having a number of employees within a predetermined range. Members of an online service provide data purporting to identify their employers and/or other personal or professional attributes. The data entries are normalized by standardizing terms, removing superfluous or unneeded terms, and/or performing other processing. The members are then clustered according to their normalized employer names, and members within clusters that have sizes within the range are added to the user segment. Invalid employer names (e.g., fictitious companies, non-existent entities) may be filtered out. Within a cluster, a professional social networking site (or other site) may be analyzed to determine if the clustered members have developed relationships; if not, the cluster may be cancelled.

Abstract: Users receive content recommendations from a personalized, generalized recommendation service that aggregates and selects content of high personal relevance to each individual user from a large pool of both personal and public content. The received content is filtered and the content determined to be relevant is cached. When a user request for content is received, the cached content is rescored and the content determined to be most relevant based on satisfaction of a relevance threshold is selected and forwarded to the user. Feedback methodologies are also implemented so that a user's actions are taken into consideration in real time and can affect subsequent recommendations to the user.

Abstract: The disclosure generally describes computer-implemented methods, software, and systems for automatically removing inappropriate content. One example method includes: identifying a report of inappropriate content received from a user, the report identifying a content item the user has identified as inappropriate and an identification of the user, determining whether to automatically remove the content item based at least in part on the identity of the user, and removing the content item upon determining that the content should be removed. In some instances, the user is associated with a report weight. The report weight can be based, at least in part, on a business role of the user. Determining whether to automatically remove the content item may include determining that the user or a business role of the user is associated with an automatic removal rule, and removing the content item upon determining that the report is associated the user.
